Abstract

The main objective of this study is to analyze the effect of Human Development Index (HDI) and unemployment rate on poverty in Madura. This research uses a quantitative approach with associative research type. The sample in this study includes HDI which is measured based on the HDI level, unemployment which is measured based on the open unemployment rate and poverty which is measured based on the poverty rate of four districts in Madura for the last 10 years starting from 2014-2023. Based on the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that the Human Development Index affects poverty in Madura. Meanwhile, unemployment has no effect on poverty in Madura. However, both variables, namely the Human Development Index and unemployment simultaneously affect poverty in Madura by 51.55%.

Abstract

Risk management plays a vital role in the sustainability of modern institutions, and it has been implemented by various entities such as the banking sector, the business world, government, and universities. Risk management is essential. So that risk management can be carried out, a method is needed to overcome it. One method that can be used is the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 31000. This research will be carried out at the STMA Trisakti Campus, which is one of the largest universities in Indonesia and is managed by the Trisakti Foundation, which has six educational units. The effectiveness of implementing risk management at the Trisakti Campus still needs to be debated, considering the various challenges and obstacles faced by private universities in implementing a comprehensive risk management system. This research aims to analyze risk identification, risk analysis and risk evaluation at STMA Triskati. The research uses a qualitative method with a risk management approach. Interviews were conducted with informants from leadership, study program managers, quality assurance, lecturers and students. The research results obtained six priority risks which fall into the high-risk category, namely: risk of decreasing research quality, risk of not meeting the number of publications, risk of reducing the number of students, risk of financing capacity, and risk of lowering the quality of administrative services.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the characteristics of Generation Z in terms of their preferences and participation in urban tourism experiences. The study uses a qualitative methodology with a design thinking approach, involving interviews with Generation Z and the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) with tourism stakeholders. In addition, this study includes observation and data collection related to urban tourism, including exploration of tourist destinations, analysis of consumer behavior (especially Generation Z), and strategies for maintaining the sustainability of tourist destinations in the urban area of ​​DKI Jakarta. The author examines the behavior of Generation Z in the context of tourism, preferences for information media, and their level of involvement. Observations of tourism stakeholders were conducted to understand the vision and mission of the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, strategies for increasing tourism attractiveness for Generation Z, and challenges faced in dealing with consumers from the digital generation. The research questions focused on Generation Z's preferences and participation in urban tourism experiences. The study results show that Generation Z is highly interested in urban tourist destinations, with social media significantly promoting and introducing tourism. In addition, innovation and application of technology are needed to increase the attractiveness of urban tourist destinations, especially for Generation Z. By leveraging innovative technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR) and gamification, the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf DKI Jakarta) can effectively engage.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate human resource (HR) management in improving employee job satisfaction in the manufacturing industry in Bekasi City. A qualitative approach was used with data collection through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results showed that factors such as training and development, compensation systems, work environment, and leadership style significantly create job satisfaction. It has been demonstrated that skills can be enhanced through training tailored to the job's specific requirements. Additionally, employees' well-being is significantly influenced by adequate compensation, which includes supplementary benefits. Job satisfaction is also positively influenced by a transformational leadership style and a conducive work environment. Nevertheless, this investigation identified obstacles, including inadequate communication, budgetary allocations for HR development initiatives, and employee participation in decision-making processes. This study recommends that companies formulate more flexible HR management strategies centred on employee needs to enhance job satisfaction and overall productivity.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of collaborative learning design in improving students' critical thinking skills in universities in West Sulawesi. This investigation implements a mixed-methods approach, which entails the acquisition of quantitative data via pre-and post-tests and qualitative data via interviews and observations. This study was conducted for two months, namely August to September 2024, involving 60 students as samples. The results showed a significant increase in students' critical thinking skills, with a higher average post-test score compared to the pre-test. Qualitative data indicated that students engaged in collaborative learning exhibited more significant activity in discussing and enhancing their critical thinking skills. However, some students still faced challenges in applying critical thinking to more complex contexts. Based on these findings, collaborative learning is efficacious in improving students' critical thinking skills, but more attention is needed on classroom management and lecturer facilitation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to provide strong evidence regarding the effect of tax planning, capital intensity and earnings growth on lab management. a. This type of research is included in quantitative research. The population in this study were all food and beverage sector manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2022. The sample in this study was made up of 31 companies using the purposive sampling method. The type of data used is secondary data obtained from www.id.co.id. Data collection techniques using documentation techniques. The analysis used in this research is multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study are that tax planning has no significant effect on earnings management with a substantial value of 0.311> 0.05, capital intensity has no significant impact on earnings management with a considerable probability value of 0.793> 0.05, and earnings growth has a substantial effect on earnings management with a significant value of 0.011 <0.05.

Abstract

The presence of MSMEs has an essential factor in people's lives in the realization of distribution to the community. In addition, MSMEs are a vital point for national economic development. When considering job performance, MSMEs can absorb labor, reducing unemployment and participation to help the government fight unemployment. This research uses qualitative research with a case study approach. Data Collection Methods This research was conducted by observing, interviewing, documenting, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the existence of the Covid-19 Pandemic impacts MSMEs, especially iPhone homes. When the current impact includes: (1) iPhone home MSME income before the Covid-19 Pandemic was very stable and normal and even often increased, but due to the presence of traders, the Covid-19 Pandemic has decreased spectacularly to reach 50% or more, (2) Factors-factors that led to a decrease in the income of traders during the Covid-19 pandemic period, the desire to visit the public has decreased. Business people have several attempts to increase their income during this Pandemic by learning technology, providing exemplary service, practicing cleanliness by always complying with health protocols, and offering customer promotions and discounts.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate strategies and methods to enhance teachers' innovative behavior through a structural equation modeling analysis of the causal relationships between teachers' innovative behavior and organizational culture, ICT literacy, self-efficacy, and work motivation, as input and recommendations in the field of education. This quantitative research employed path analysis using Smart-PLS, followed by SITOREM analysis. Data was collected through questionnaires and analyzed using F-test, t-test, and multicollinearity test. The sample in this study consisted of 153 English teachers in vocational high schools in Depok City, West Java Province. The results showed that innovative behavior was influenced by organizational culture and ICT literacy, but not by self-efficacy and work motivation. Meanwhile, work motivation was influenced by organizational culture and self-efficacy, but not by ICT literacy. It is important for teachers to have high self-efficacy and good ICT literacy skills, work in an environment with a supportive organizational culture, and have high work motivation. Improving teachers' innovative behavior is an ongoing process that requires commitment and effort from various parties. Therefore, appropriate strategies and methods in the implementation of learning are expected to create a conducive learning and teaching environment so that teachers can be more innovative and effective, and also contribute to improving the quality of learning

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of facilities and infrastructure management on teacher performance in schools. This research uses a quantitative approach with survey methods. The sample used was 100 teachers from several schools in the Medan area. Data was collected using a questionnaire that measured facilities and infrastructure management variables as well as teacher performance. The research results show that the management of facilities and infrastructure has a positive and significant influence on teacher performance. Adequate facilities and infrastructure, such as comfortable classrooms and complete facilities, can create an environment that is conducive to the learning process, which in turn improves teacher performance. Apart from that, the school principal as manager of facilities and infrastructure has a key role in ensuring that existing facilities can support learning activities. This research also emphasizes that good management of facilities and infrastructure must be carried out transparently and efficiently, involving all related parties, including the government and the community. These findings contribute to the development of education management in Indonesia, especially in terms of facility management to support teacher performance.

Abstract

This research aims to explore financial management practices in technology startups in Indonesia, with a focus on capital and risk management. Qualitative methods were used through in-depth interviews, observation and document analysis. The research results show that funding from venture capital is the main source for startups, which is used to support operations, product development and marketing. Working capital management is focused on cash flow efficiency to maintain financial stability amidst income fluctuations. Risk management is a significant challenge for startups, especially in the face of market volatility, intense competition and rapid technological change. Risk mitigation strategies include product diversification and assistance from venture capital. This research also found that the risk management systems in many Indonesian startups are still less integrated compared to companies in developed countries. These findings fill a gap in previous research and provide a perspective on financial management in developing country startup ecosystems. This research concludes that venture capital and effective risk mitigation strategies are key elements for the sustainability of technology startups. Further research is needed to understand the role of financial technology in startup financial management
