ABDIRA (Journal of Community Service): Journal of Community Service contains the results of community service and empowerment activities in the form of application of various fields of science including health, education, engineering, agriculture, agriculture, social humanities, computers, entrepreneurship and economics. The purpose of this journal is to disseminate ideas and results of the dedication and research conducted by universities that can be applied in society. Abstract

The digitization of local cultural heritage is essential for the preservation and promotion of tourism villages. An international community service initiative by the UIN Palopo 2026 Global Cultural Immersion Program Team—involving representatives from eight countries (Nigeria, Sudan, Syria, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Indonesia)—aims to develop a proposal for the digitization of cultural weaving tourism in Salurante Hamlet, Rinding Allo Tourism Village, Rongkong Subdistrict, North Luwu. The approach used was participatory and based on cultural immersion through three activities: observation/documentation, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with local stakeholders, and the development of a digitization program. The results include site mapping, the formulation of content requirements, and a digitalization program document containing a digital cultural inventory, photos and videos, a digital catalog, digital storytelling, promotional media, QR codes, data governance, and a sustainability plan. This digitization document, as the primary output, serves as a reference for the development of tourism villages. Cross-national collaboration provides intercultural perspectives and global reach, while still prioritizing community involvement as the foundation for shaping narratives and ensuring data ownership.

Abstract

The low level of religious awareness among the community in rural areas requires sustained capacity-building efforts through the optimization of the role of Islamic religious counselors. This community service project aims to optimize the role of Islamic religious counselors in enhancing religious awareness among the community in Bojong Sempu Village. The method used is participatory mentoring through the stages of situation analysis, counseling, mentoring, and monitoring and evaluation. The results of the activity show that this mentoring was able to strengthen the informative-educational, consultative, and advocacy functions of religious counselors through the use of Majelis Taklim as a medium for guidance. This program also increased community participation and strengthened the sustainability of religious guidance. Thus, participatory mentoring is an effective approach to increasing religious awareness among the community at the village level.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the capacity of farmers in Wonokerso Village, Tembarak Subdistrict, Temanggung Regency, in managing farm business economics and conducting business feasibility analysis. The activity was motivated by the farmers’ still-low ability to record production costs, manage finances, and analyze farm business profits—all of which can influence business decision-making. The methods used included extension services, training, and participatory mentoring on agricultural economic management, simple financial record-keeping, and calculating the feasibility of farming businesses using indicators such as production costs, receipts, revenue, profit, and the Revenue-to-Cost Ratio (R/C Ratio). The results of the activity showed an increase in farmers’ understanding and skills in keeping records of their farming operations and conducting simple business feasibility analyses. These activities are important for supporting more rational business decision-making, improving the efficiency of farm management, and promoting the economic sustainability of farmers.

Abstract

Marriage is an crucial phase that requires mental, emotional, and spiritual readiness, yet many engaged couples are not yet prepared to face the dynamics of married life. The Marriage Counseling Program (Bimwin) at the KUA serves as a preventive measure to strengthen engaged couples’ understanding of a harmonious family. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Marriage Counseling program, analyze the level of understanding among prospective spouses before and after the program, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, evaluate the effectiveness of the program themed “Love and Care for One Another: The Key to a Harmonious Family,” and formulate recommendations for improvement at the Pasar Rebo KUA. This study employed a qualitative approach using descriptive methods. The Marriage Counseling Program at the Pasar Rebo KUA was proven to be effective. In conclusion, this program plays a strategic role in strengthening the understanding of a harmonious family, but it still requires an initial assessment of participants’ level of understanding. This study recommends improvements to make the program more effective in enhancing the readiness of prospective couples.

Abstract

Bullying is a problem that is still frequently found in schools and can negatively impact students' mental health, social relationships, and academic achievement. The low level of understanding among adolescents regarding the forms, impacts, and prevention of bullying is the basis for the implementation of the BRUS (School Age Youth Guidance) Program at SMK YPUI Parung. This study aims toincrease students' knowledge, awareness and concern for bullying behavior and encourage the formation of anti-bullying behavior in the school environment. Research purposes The method used was interactive psychoeducation through face-to-face counseling, covering material on the definition of bullying, types of bullying (physical, verbal, relational, and cyber), the impact of bullying, and the importance of the role of peers in preventing and handling bullying cases. The activity evaluation was conducted using a Google Form and analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The results of the activity showed an increase in students' understanding of bullying, Growing awareness of the impact on victims, as well as changes in students' attitudes to become more courageous in preventing, reprimanding, and reporting acts of bullying. The BRUS program has proven to be effective in increasing anti-bullying awareness.bullying and encourage the creation of a safer, more comfortable and supportive school environment for students.

Abstract

The use of household organic waste and local resources as raw materials for alternative fertilizers has not yet been optimally implemented by the community of Wonokerso Village, Tembarak Subdistrict, Temanggung Regency. This situation has the potential to increase dependence on chemical fertilizers while also resulting in household organic waste not being managed optimally. The training activity aimed to improve the community’s knowledge and skills in producing Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC) from household waste and Plant Growth-Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) from bamboo roots. Implementation methods included observation, coordination, extension services, demonstrations, and hands-on practice with farmer groups and the community. The results of the activities showed that participants actively participated and understood the stages of POC and PGPR production, indicators of successful fermentation, and application techniques for plants. The activities contributed to enhancing the community’s capacity to utilize local resources as an alternative to environmentally friendly fertilizers to support sustainable agriculture.

Abstract

Community service is an integral component of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, aiming to make a tangible contribution to improving community well-being. This program was conducted by the Student Islamic Da'wah Organization (LDK Kaffah) of Institut Teknologi dan Bisnis Dewantara in collaboration with Yayasan Malaka Muda Karya in Cisuren Hamlet, Cibunian Village, Pamijahan District, Bogor Regency. The initiative aimed to enhance children's Qur'anic learning by providing educational facilities and learning assistance. The implementation methods included community needs assessment, coordination with local stakeholders, educational games, learning assistance, distribution of educational resources, and program evaluation. The activity involved 35 university students and more than 45 children and local residents. Educational assistance included 62 copies of the Holy Qur'an, 21 Iqra books, 37 Juz Amma books, one whiteboard, and 30 plastic study desks. The program improved the availability of learning facilities, increased children's motivation to participate in Qur'anic learning, strengthened community engagement, and reinforced students' roles as agents of social change.

Abstract

Stunting is a growth and development process that can affect children from early pregnancy to the age of three or four, often caused by a lack of micronutrients. Foods containing animal protein are very important for meeting nutritional needs during a child's growth and development, especially during the first 1000 days of life (HPK). The long-term effects of animal protein consumption include improving the nutritional status of toddlers. The purpose of this community service program is to increase the knowledge of mothers with toddlers in the Belawan Sicanang sub-district about stunting prevention through the use of local foods as a stunting prevention effort based on nutritional intervention using the consumption method (SANISA) of one fish per child and consumption of eggs, which are varied, nutritious, balanced, and safe, which is the content of My Plate. This community service program employs a targeted intervention and health education approach, focusing on the benefits of fish as an affordable and easily accessible source of animal protein to prevent stunting. The output of this community service project is an increase in knowledge among mothers with toddlers at risk of stunting, as well as the provision of fish and eggs to 44 children with stunting and at risk of stunting in the working area of Belawan Sicanang sub-district.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to strengthen empathy, social awareness, and family relationships through the screening of the film Miracle in Cell No. 7 in Lubuk Cemara Village. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, using observation, interviews, and documentation involving community members, village leaders, and participating students. The results indicate that the film screening combined with reflective discussion effectively increased empathy, strengthened social bonds, and fostered social awareness regardless of social background. Furthermore, the activity enhanced active community participation and strengthened partnerships between the university and the Lubuk Cemara Village community. Thus, the screening of Miracle in Cell No. 7 serves as an effective educational medium for internalizing human values in community service programs.

Abstract

Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) plays an essential role in preventing workplace accidents, particularly through the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Knowledge of PPE should be introduced early, especially to vocational high school students who are preparing to enter the industrial workforce. This community service program aimed to improve students' knowledge of PPE among Industrial Electronics Engineering students at SMK Mambaul Ulum Gresik. The program consisted of a pre-test, educational sessions on the fundamentals of OSH, workplace hazard identification, the types and functions of PPE, interactive discussions, hazard analysis in the practical workshop, and a post-test as the evaluation method. The results indicated an improvement in students' knowledge after participating in the educational activities. Students were able to identify workplace hazards, determine appropriate PPE based on occupational risks, and understand the importance of PPE in preventing workplace accidents. This program is expected to support the development of an occupational safety culture among vocational students before entering the industrial workplace.
