ABDIRA (Journal of Community Service): Journal of Community Service contains the results of community service and empowerment activities in the form of application of various fields of science including health, education, engineering, agriculture, agriculture, social humanities, computers, entrepreneurship and economics. This journal is published regularly twice a year in April and October. The purpose of this journal is to disseminate ideas and results of the dedication and research conducted by universities that can be applied in society. ABDIRA contains various activities carried out in handling and overcoming various problems that occur in society by applying science and technology which can then be useful for improving community welfare.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to train new students in utilizing the Quillbot Artificial Intelligence application as a tool to reduce plagiarism in scientific works. The implementation method of this research consists of three main stages, namely: (1) Preparation Stage, including needs analysis through an initial survey and preparation of training materials; (2) Implementation Stage, carried out through training seminars with interactive lecture methods, direct demonstrations of the use of Quillbot features (such as paraphraser, summarizer, and grammar checker), as well as practice and mentoring (coaching clinic); and (3). The results of the study indicate that this training succeeded in significantly improving the understanding and skills of participants.  Participants' knowledge of responsible paraphrasing techniques increased by an average of 75%. Furthermore, during the practical session, participants were able to reduce the plagiarism rate in the given example texts from an average of 80% to below 15%, while maintaining academic integrity and the original meaning of the referenced sources. The conclusion of this activity is that structured training on the use of the AI Quillbot, oriented towards academic ethics, effectively empowers new students to produce more original writing and avoid plagiarism.

Abstract

This Community Service program aims to improve batik-making skills and foster an entrepreneurial spirit among students and the community, specifically through collaboration with Batik Tulis Salingka Tabek, Nagari Koto Baru, Kubung District, Solok Regency. This PKM uses a direct training method where, through material presentation and practice, participants learn about tools and materials, design models, wax application, dyeing, and the production of batik fabrics that are ready for sale. The training is not only related to the batik-making process but also introduces marketing strategies so that the value of the products can be added to and compete in the market. The results of this activity can be seen in the increased understanding of batik making among participants in the creation of hand-drawn batik. Participants can create designs independently and perform dyeing using natural dyes, as well as gain an understanding of entrepreneurship, where batik can be used as a promising business venture. In addition, this training also serves as a tool for cultural preservation and the development of the batik industry.

Abstract

Curug Silawe in Magelang Regency has promising natural tourism potential, but still faces problems with cleanliness and suboptimal digital promotion. These conditions have an impact on the instability of tourist visitation numbers, so community empowerment activities that are in line with field needs are required. This initiative aims to assist managers in improving the cleanliness of the area while strengthening promotion through social media to increase awareness and interest in Curug Silawe. The program was implemented in collaboration with managers as key partners, beginning with observation and discussion, followed by cleanup activities and the creation of visual content for publication on social media. The results of the activities showed significant changes, marked by a reduction in trash, a tidier area, and positive responses to promotional posts on Instagram. These findings indicate that simple collaboration with managers can improve environmental conditions and the image of the destination, and therefore needs to be supported on an ongoing basis.

Abstract

This activity focuses on guiding the students of class X MA Ma'arif Cepogo in forming communication ethics in themselves. In addition, this activity aims to distribute information and knowledge about proper communication ethics, to improve the character of students at MA Ma'arif Cepogo. Through this community service activity, it is hoped that the students of class X MA Ma'arif Cepogo will get an idea of how to communicate well. The methods applied in this community service include direct socialization to students of class X MA Ma'arif Cepogo regarding communication ethics education in the school environment, with stages of introduction to the development of moral values in the school environment network, as well as the implementation of community service activities. This socialization event received a positive response from the school, especially the students, because it provided an understanding and knowledge related to good communication ethics in accordance with the school's vision in forming student characters who maintain norms of politeness and togetherness in interactions, as well as providing a positive influence on the school community as a whole.

Abstract

Bullying in schools is a serious problem that negatively affects students’ psychological, social, and academic development. This community service activity aimed to raise students’ awareness of the dangers of bullying and to promote a safe and child-friendly school environment at SMA Negeri 1 Wates, Kediri Regency. The activity was conducted using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach through interactive socialization and counseling involving students, teachers, and school staff. The materials presented included the forms, causes, impacts, and prevention strategies of bullying in the school environment. The results showed an increase in students’ understanding of bullying, greater empathy, and stronger commitment to positive social interaction at school. This program also encouraged collaboration among schools, families, and the community to create a safe, harmonious, and character-oriented learning environment.

Abstract

Mathematics learning in Islamic Elementary Schools (MI) still faces challenges in the form of low student problem-solving skills and limited teacher competency in implementing innovative learning models. This community service activity aims to improve the competence of MI teachers through mentoring the implementation of the Inquiry-Based Meaningful Learning Model in mathematics learning. The implementation methods include workshops, classroom supervision, reflection, and continuous improvement. The results of the activity show an increase in teacher pedagogical competence, especially in designing learning tools, implementing inquiry stages systematically, and facilitating student investigative activities. Quantitatively, students' problem-solving abilities increased from an average of 55 in the pretest to 78 in the posttest. Qualitatively, students showed increased participation, independence, and the ability to explain problem-solving strategies. Thus, teacher mentoring in implementing the inquiry-based meaningful learning model effectively improves the quality of mathematics learning in MI and is recommended for continued implementation in other madrasas.

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out to assist The Calokies, a culinary MSME that still uses a basic financial recording process through Microsoft Excel, resulting in inefficient report preparation and a higher risk of inaccuracy. The objective of this program is to design and implement a more integrated accounting recording system tailored to the business’s operational needs. The implementation methods included interviews, direct observation, system design using Microsoft Access, as well as training and evaluation with the business owner. The developed system is capable of producing financial reports more quickly and accurately, while supporting compliance with accounting principles and tax regulations. The results of the program indicate improved efficiency and accuracy in financial recording, which positively influences decision-making processes. These findings are significant because a structured accounting system helps MSMEs enhance financial management and business sustainability.

Abstract

Simple bookkeeping training is an effort to improve the managerial capacity of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), particularly in financial management. This community service activity was conducted at the Juli Water Depot in Binjai, which has not yet implemented a structured bookkeeping system. This lack of record-keeping makes it difficult for business owners to accurately assess their financial position, cash flow, and calculate profit and loss. The two-day training consisted of several stages: initial observation, material delivery, recording demonstrations, hands-on practice, mentoring, and evaluation. The materials provided covered the use of a Daily Cash Book, Operational Cost Recapitulation, and the preparation of a simple Profit and Loss Report. The training results demonstrated an increase in participants' knowledge and skills in recording daily transactions, identifying operational costs, and preparing simple financial reports. Participants also demonstrated a commitment to consistently implementing bookkeeping after the training. This training demonstrates that simple bookkeeping training is effective in helping MSMEs improve financial management, support more informed decision-making, and strengthen business sustainability.

Abstract

This service aims to improve the ability to use digital marketing through the application of a training model. This service was carried out on one of the MSME actors in Nagasepaha Village, Buleleng Regency, Buleleng District, Bali. This type of service is community education and training service with a three-stage procedure, namely: (1) Preparation stage, (2) Implementation stage and, (3) Evaluation and monitoring stage. The data collection method used in this service is through observation. The data collection process through this observation uses direct interview techniques. The results of the service show that MSME actors produce a change by being able to use digital marketing from the training that has been provided which aims to promote the products of their skills, so it can be concluded that the application of the training model can increase self-confidence and compete with the same type of MSMEs.

Abstract

This community service program, the Community Service Program (KKN), was implemented to address the low digital literacy of MSMEs in Pisangan Jaya Village, RT 02 RW 014, Sepatan District, Tangerang Regency. This lack of understanding of digital marketing, the use of online platforms, and the implementation of cashless payments hinders local MSMEs' growth and market expansion. This activity aims to increase the capacity of MSMEs to utilize digital technology, specifically through digital marketing education, optimization of WhatsApp Business, Google Business Profile, and the use of QRIS-based payment systems. Implementation methods included field observation, coordination with village officials, material development, hands-on application use, and outreach on the theme "Strengthening MSMEs Based on Technology." The results of the activity demonstrated an increased understanding of participants regarding digital promotion strategies, content creation, the convenience of cashless transactions, and the importance of digital financial records. This program helps MSMEs better prepare for competition through the use of modern technology and has a positive impact on local economic development.
