Abstract

Persons with disabilities often experience limited access to productive economic opportunities due to social stigma, inadequate skills, and weak systemic support. This community engagement program aims to strengthen economic and food self-reliance among persons with disabilities through a circular economy approach based on regionally superior commodities, supported by an inclusive digital campaign. A participatory–collaborative method was employed, encompassing local commodity identification, skills training in salak processing, maggot cultivation, Elba chicken–based urban farming, intensive mentoring, and digital outreach. The results demonstrate substantial improvements in participants’ capacities, particularly in maggot production skills (from 30% to 80%) and food self-sufficiency (from 20% to 60%), alongside increased public awareness of the economic potential of persons with disabilities. Although the digital campaign remains at an initial dissemination stage, the program exhibits strong sustainability potential in promoting inclusive, locally grounded economic empowerment.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the capacity of parents at TK Melati Indah, Pekanbaru, in implementing balanced nutrition based on local food to address early childhood obesity and unhealthy lunch box patterns. The method was conducted in four stages: identification and pre-testing, interactive education on "Isi Piringku" (My Plate) menu management, cooking demonstrations using local ingredients (such as catfish), and online mentoring. The results showed a significant increase in parents' knowledge, with average scores rising from 55 (fair) to 88 (excellent). Furthermore, there was a notable behavioral shift, characterized by a decrease in the use of double carbohydrates and improved compliance in including animal protein and vegetables in children's lunch boxes. This program demonstrates that nutritional literacy effectively optimizes local food potential to support children's growth and development during the golden age.

Abstract

The rise in fraud cases is one factor contributing to the decline in public trust in investments in the commodity futures trading sector. The abundance of illegal investment platforms often creates a negative perception among the public that investing is a detrimental activity. Therefore, it is crucial to increase public literacy and understanding regarding the legal aspects of commodity futures trading. This activity aims to provide public understanding and education regarding the legality and clear regulations of investment through a digital-based outreach approach. Through this outreach, it is hoped that the public will develop a more open mindset and understand the risks of investing.

Abstract

The growing interest in trading activities in Indonesia has not been fully matched by adequate financial literacy, potentially leading to undisciplined and speculative trading behavior, especially among novice traders. This community service activity aims to improve trading literacy and encourage consistent trading behavior through the Trading Bareng program organized by PT Trijaya Pratama Futures (TPFx) Surabaya. The method used is hands-on training, including an introduction to the company, real-time application of technical and fundamental analysis, and an emphasis on risk management. The results of the activity show an increase in participants' understanding of basic trading concepts, their ability to read market movements, and their awareness of the importance of discipline and risk management. This activity confirms that a practice-based educational approach is effective in shaping more consistent and sustainable trading patterns for novice traders.

Abstract

Limited access to clean water and adequate sanitation remains a major challenge for remote elementary schools and has a direct impact on students’ health and learning comfort. This Community Service program aimed to provide basic knowledge to teachers and students regarding clean water sanitation standards and to improve their understanding of the implementation of sanitation programs in the school environment. The activities were conducted through educational, participatory, and applicative approaches, including counseling sessions, discussions, active involvement of school members, and the construction of handwashing facilities and simple water filtration systems. The results indicated an improvement in teachers’ and students’ awareness and understanding of the importance of sanitation, the development of clean and healthy living behaviors, and the availability of sanitation facilities that can be utilized sustainably. This program represents a practical effort to support the creation of a healthy, safe, and proper school environment.

Abstract

This community service aims to increase the capacity of parents of students with disabilities at SLB-B YPPALB Magelang City through digital-based entrepreneurship training. The program was initiated due to parents' lack of knowledge in mentoring children with disabilities and limited understanding of how to help them become independent. The method applied includes lectures, tutorials, and discussions that focus on digital parenting and entrepreneurship motivation. The results show that parents have gained new knowledge about digital parenting and have been motivated to assist their children in developing independent entrepreneurial activities. The program has successfully enhanced parents’ understanding of supporting their children’s skills in entrepreneurship and introduced them to the concept of halal product certification.

Abstract

The program was conducted over a six-month period (Junet–November 2025) using a participatory approach involving 30 members of local farmer groups. The implementation stages included an initial survey, program socialization, electricity-based technology training, field mentoring, and monitoring and evaluation. The results demonstrated a significant increase in farmers’ knowledge, with an average improvement of 63%, as indicated by an increase in pre-test scores from 50 to 82 in the post-test. Approximately 90% of farmers expressed readiness to adopt the technology, and 27 out of 30 participants were able to operate the electrical equipment independently. From a technical perspective, the use of electric pumps and automated irrigation systems reduced irrigation operational costs by up to 30% and increased rice productivity from 4.8 tons/ha to 5.7 tons/ha. The program also strengthened household food security and improved energy use efficiency. The success of the program was supported by collaboration between PLN as the provider of technical support and Yatim Mandiri Foundation as the social facilitation partner.

Abstract

The importance of maintaining health, especially for school-age children, is not always related to their freedom from various acute diseases, but also concerns the process of physical growth and development, cognitive development, and the formation of lifelong habits. Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) is a strategic effort to improve public health by disseminating healthy lifestyle experiences to individuals, groups, and communities through communication as a means of sharing information. The method used in this community service activity is a participatory approach through outreach and mentoring for students. From several series of activities that have been carried out, it was found that the objectives of the community service activities have had a positive impact. Data from the pre-test and post-test showed an increase on a scale of 1-5 from 4.6 to 4.7. Although not very significant, this still indicates that students have a fairly good basic understanding, and this outreach activity can strengthen and clarify that understanding.
