Abstract

Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) reflects the risks faced by mothers during pregnancy and childbirth, which are influenced by the mother's nutritional status, socio-economic conditions, unfavorable conditions before pregnancy, the incidence of various complications during pregnancy and birth, the availability and use of health service facilities including perinatal services. and obstetrics. Monitoring pregnancy conditions is very important. High levels of maternal mortality caused by complications during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum can be detected to prevent death and disability. According to the INAHS Consensus, in 2020. So there is a need for action to change through accelerating early detection of hypertension risk factors independently with digitalization.Early detection of hypertension is one of the screening tools designed for ordinary people, especially pregnant women and postpartum mothers in this digital era. Accelerating early detection with digitalization can be done by the public with the help of a simple Android-based application called e-Demos (Early Detection and Hypertension Monitoring). The aim of this research is to create a model for the development of health technology in the medical world using the Android Studio application on a smartphone, to determine the effectiveness of the "E-Demos" application instrumentation in detecting and monitoring hypertension in pregnant and postpartum women. This type of research is experimental research with an approach quasi-experimental (quasi-experiment) with non-equivalent control group design. This research uses methods and Android application development to obtain data digitally. Research and Development is a process or steps to develop a new product.

Abstract

Morning sickness affects 70-85% of pregnant women during the first trimester. Lemon aromatherapy, combined with ginger’s anti-inflammatory properties and the chemoreceptor-inhibiting effects of honey and pyridoxine, may help reduce nausea by modulating serotonin, dopamine, and histamine activity in the vomiting center. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of ginger, honey, and lemon aromatherapy as a complementary therapy for alleviating morning sickness symptoms. This pre-experimental study involved 60 pregnant women experiencing morning sickness, selected through incidental sampling. Data collection, conducted from May to August 2024, utilized the PUQE-24 score. Univariate analysis was used for frequency distributions, while bivariate analysis employed a paired t-test to assess pre- and post-intervention differences. An independent two-sample t-test determined differences between groups. Lemon aromatherapy, ginger, and honey significantly reduced nausea before and after the intervention (p 0.000). The use of ginger, honey, and lemon aromatherapy resulted in a significant difference in mean PUQE scores (p 0.000). Aromatherapy with ginger, honey, and lemon is useful in lowering the Intense vomiting in pregnant women throughout the first trimester. Keywords: Aromateraphy, Ginger, Honey, Lemon, Morning Sickness

Abstract

The importance of sociocultural support from both family and health workers is very much needed by pregnant women until the postpartum period. Utilization of recording facilities using MCH books is not yet optimal in Eastern Indonesia, this is due to the lack of knowledge of midwives, compliance of health workers in filling out MCH books, absence of husbands or family members in caring for pregnant women, taking mothers for pregnancy checks, accompanying them in the birthing process. health services, considering that the mother giving birth at a "dukun beranak" is enough, and involving herself in the postpartum mother's process. This is an obstacle to efforts to deal with maternal and child deaths through safe motherhood. This research method uses a quantitative correlation design with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study was pregnant and postpartum women registered at 3 private hospitals in Eastern Indonesia totaling 122 mothers. The sampling technique uses total sampling. Data analysis using Chi-Square. The research results show that there is a significant relationship between sociocultural support and safe motherhood practices which has a p-value of 0.004. Good sociocultural support has a high impact on safe motherhood practices to reduce maternal and child mortality from the start.
