Abstract

Evaluation of Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) is required to assess medical students’ skills in order to meet the Indonesian medical doctor competency standards. This study presents an innovative method for developing a mobile app-based OSCE evaluation system in Med Stud Games (MSG) and explores its condition. To evaluate MSG, we use the focus group discussion (FGD) method. We use a purposeful sampling approach, consisting of a content expert, medical education expert and medical students. The result of an experience in using MSG for two OSCE training was discussed in FGD. Data was analyzed using in vivo coding and divided into categories to advantages, problems, content, interface, and future improvements. The FGD results in 19 codes. Advantages are categorized as easy to use, fast, practical, and automation timer and scoring. Problems categorized in distraction potential of incoming calls and notifications and online only. Content results in the validity of score and checklist quality. Interface results in font size and layout. Future improvement results in saving and sharing data, open feedback and text, and user-generated content. MSG improve assessment and feedback qualities for medical students. Further observational studies are needed to assess OSCE validation to be used in exam settings

Abstract

Reproductive health services and handling of its various aspects are important steps to ensure the health of families and public health. Among adolescents and productive age groups there is a high-risk sexual behavior and an increased incidence of co-occurring health conditions problem. Even though sex education has been provided in the school curriculum, it is still found that learning about reproductive health is only superficial and is stigmatized as taboo by society. College students, at a productive age, still need to learn about reproductive health. Promiscuous associations and stressors from college tasks can risk unwanted pregnancies, increased sexually transmitted diseases, and poor mental health. This community service activity aims to improve college students' knowledge and awareness of maintaining reproductive and mental health. This activity was given through teaching and discussions involving 76 college students. The expected outcome is to enhance students’ knowledge and implement it after graduation as a religion teacher. The result of this community service is increasing college student knowledge about reproductive health, especially related to the threats of free sex, early marriage, and mental reproductive health. Students seemed enthusiastic when paying attention to the course and actively participating in learning and discussion.

Abstract

The global pandemic has been disrupting the lives of many people. For children aged 2-4 years old with speech delay disorder, social isolation can be detrimental because there is a lack of social interactions that are vital for their language development. This article focused to develop an intervention media, the Blaablaablaa Flashcard, to help parents and therapists working with children with speech delay. In developing this paper, we document the process of validating the cards by working with developmental psychologists and two therapists in Surabaya. In the process, we also explore the potential improvements that can be made to improve the quality of the cards. Various feedback has been gathered, ranging from the content, design, and instructional elements. Results show that the Blaablaablaa Flashcard meets the standard to use as an intervention media for children with speech delay.

Abstract

The community is focusing on health drinks which can be utilised as health drinks to achieve community health. However, a number of issues were discovered in partners who produced herbal beverage preparations; as these preparations lack preservatives, they don't survive enough. Making fast herbal preparations that have the same qualities as traditional herbal preparations would help them last longer without sacrificing taste or convenience for users. Partners created instant herbal preparations, examined the flow qualities and flow content, and gained a better understanding of how to produce instant herbs and high-quality herbal medicine as a result of this work.

Abstract

Nutritional problems can hinder the momentum of development of Indonesia's golden generation in 2045. Nutritional problems are also related to the availability of food, where local food that is high in nutrients can be used to fulfill the nutrition of children under five. Abstract

The community is the front guard in preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS cases. To mobilize community participation in prevention efforts, it is important to provide correct understanding, such as through training. Through the formation of WPA at the sub-district level, this community service aims to empower the community. This WPA functions as a forum for the community to raise awareness that comes from desires or needs without being forced by the community itself, so that the community can contribute significantly to the HIV/AIDS problem in the sub-district environment. The activity was carried out for three days, with a total of 40 participants representing community leaders, health cadres, and the PKK. The methods and forms of activities used are active participation approaches, presentations, and questions and answers. As a result, participants understand their duties and responsibilities in efforts to prevent and control HIV/AIDS by prioritizing community involvement.

Abstract

Indonesian people have a strong preference for food processed using cooking oil. However, the continuous reuse of cooking oil can pose health hazards and have negative environmental impacts if disposed of directly into the soil and waterways. Therefore, innovation is needed to process used cooking oil waste into a product with economic value. Used cooking oil used for cooking can be transformed into soap which is environmentally friendly and has economic value. Hence, this community service aims to reduce the volume of waste cooking oil and improve the local economy. One area in West Nusa Tenggara that has the potential for this product development is the village of Merembu. Out of 2084 families, 727 are still classified as poor. Therefore, there is a need for business opportunities to improve the economy in the village, one of which is by transforming waste cooking oil into soap products. Community service activities in Merembu Village were well received and received positive responses from Empowerment of Family Welfare (PKK) group in Merembu Village. The positive response is reflected in the results of the final evaluation carried out. This activity is a means for PKK group to increase their knowledge of the dangers and methods of processing used cooking oil so that it does not become a pollutant for the environment.

Abstract

Pineapple skin is an ingredient that can be processed into a probiotic drink. The biggest component of pineapple peel waste besides water is carbohydrates. Pineapple skin can be a good substrate as a source of microbial growth. Pineapple skin can reach 47% of the total fruit and has a chemical composition of 87.80% water, 8.60% sugar and 1.35% reducing sugar. The potential chemical content of pineapple skin has encouraged many researchers to create fermented prebiotic drink products. The ingredients used in making pineapple peel fermented probiotic drinks include: pineapple fruit, fermented yeast, water, palm sugar, cinnamon and granulated sugar. This community service activity was carried out with the aim of educating the public about how to make pineapple peel prebiotic drinks for household scale. There is a need for training in making fermented prebiotic drinks from pineapple peel in local communities. This training will be carried out for the community in Seruawan village, Seram Island, Maluku.
