Abstract

This research discusses the challenges cargo companies face in im-proving the efficiency of shipping goods amid increasingly fierce mar-ket competition. Using a qualitative approach and focusing on applying Agile methodology in application development, this research collected data through literature study and interviews with industry experts. The results show that the application of Agile methodology has a positive impact on improving delivery efficiency, enabling the company to ad-just to changes in customer demand quickly, increasing flexibility in planning, and ensuring high application quality through integrated testing. The contribution of this research lies in a better understanding of the importance of applying Agile methodologies in the cargo indus-try, which can guide cargo companies in optimizing their shipping pro-cesses, reducing operational costs, and increasing customer satisfac-tion through efficient application development.

Abstract

This research addresses efficiency and compliance issues in the cargo industry by implementing an Agile-based document management sys-tem. Common problems encountered, such as inefficient manual pro-cesses and the risk of document loss, are the main focus. The stages of system development, including requirements definition, planning, de-velopment, testing, and implementation, were analyzed in depth with an Agile methodology approach. The system could meet the expected functional, security, and performance needs through a series of tests. The results show the vital contribution of the Agile approach in im-proving efficiency and compliance in the cargo industry by implement-ing a document management system that is adaptive, efficient, and compliant with industry standards.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an Agile-based Human Resources (HR) management application to improve operational efficiency and effec-tiveness in a freight forwarding company. Problems faced by the com-pany include inefficient work schedule management, unstructured training, and ineffective performance evaluation. The research method involved four main stages, namely require: requirements planning, de-velopment, and application testing. In the requirement definition stage, interviews with company management and a survey of employees were used to understand the challenges faced and user expectations of the proposed solution. Next, in the planning stage, a detailed project plan and application specifications were created to guide the development. The development stage involved prototyping, application code devel-opment, and integration of application features. Finally, the application was tested through a series of functional tests, user trials, and perfor-mance tests to ensure the quality and performance of the application. The results show that the application can address the problems faced by the company well and meet user expectations. The contributions of this research are the development of applications that are to the needs of the company, the application of Agile methodology in the develop-ment of business applications, and the provision of a foundation for further research in the field of technology-based HR management.

Abstract

Effective financial management is crucial for cargo companies to maintain operational continuity and improve business efficiency. However, many cargo companies need help managing their finances effectively, especially related to the complexity of operations and high volume of transactions. This research aims to develop a cargo financial management application using an Agile approach to overcome these problems. The research method includes requirements definition, planning, development, and testing stages. Cargo companies' needs for financial management applications were identified through a series of stakeholder interviews and business process analysis. Next, a project plan is drawn up, a development team is determined, and potential risks are identified to direct the application development process. In the development phase, the system design of the application is conceived, core features are developed using Agile methodology, and integration with other systems in the company is performed. Testing was conducted to ensure optimal application functionality and performance. The result is a financial management application that is adaptive, responsive, and can improve the efficiency of financial management and cargo company operations. The contribution of this research is to provide an effective solution to overcome the challenges in the financial management of cargo companies and provide a foundation for the development of similar applications in the context of other cargo industries.

Abstract

The  progress of the chocolate industry in Bali, as represented by Pod Chocolate Bali, offers tremendous potential for local economic contribution. However, the chocolate production process produces cocoa pulp as waste which can affect the environment and economic balance. This research discusses the implementation of the zero waste concept by integrating a circular economy through the use of cocoa pulp as a basic ingredient for producing chocolate jam. The background to this research illustrates the important role of chocolate in culture and the economy, but also highlights the challenges of waste generated during production. This research focuses on qualitative research methods with a case study approach that combines observation, interviews and document analysis. The research results show that implementing the zero waste concept by processing cocoa bean dregs into chocolate jam not only solves the waste problem, but also empowers local communities through training and skills development. Additionally, this initiative promotes a circular green economy by harnessing the full potential of cocoa beans. The spread of zero waste solutions in the Pod chocolate industry has had a positive impact in the form of improving the economy of chocolate SME in Bali. This strategy allows reducing food waste, increasing the added value of cocoa beans, and creating high-quality chocolate jam products that can meet local and international market demand. In this context, a zero waste solution not only makes the chocolate production process more sustainable, but also supports the development of cocoa cultivation which empowers local communities.

Abstract

As one of the tropical countries in Southeast Asia, Indonesia boasts a remarkable diversity of flora that serves as a habitat for the wildlife within its borders. This diversity has positioned Indonesia as a nation with the highest diversity of primate species globally, comprising 61 species out of the 479 primate species worldwide, with 38 of them being endemic. The distribution of primate species in Indonesia extends from the far reaches of Papua to the tip of Sumatra, including the Mentawai Islands. Mentawai, known as a regency beyond the boundaries of Sumatra, is home to four endemic primate species: Bilou (Hylobates Klosi); Joja (Presbytis Potenziani); Monyet Ekor Babi (Simias Concolor); and Bokkoi (Macaca Pagensis). According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List, these four species are currently listed as critically endangered due to deforestation activities leading to the loss of their habitats. This study aims to determine barriers and risk communication strategies in preventing deforestation (case study of biodiversity of four endangered endemic primates in Mentawai Islands, Indonesia). This research method uses descriptive qualitative research methods with data collection techniques using observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review.

Abstract

Indonesia has unique astronomic location which positioning in the south of the equator exerts substantial influence on various facest of the region, including weather patterns, land and forest arrangement, economic dynamics, societal structures, and disaster vulnerability. The country’s reputation as the “world’s lungs” stems from its high precipitation levels, profoundly impacting the expanse of forests. Conversely, the equatorial dry season can usher in extreme high temperatures, giving rise to hazards like forest and land fires, as exemplified in the protected forest areas of Ketapang Village, West Kalimantan. Consequently, comprehensive mitigation strategies involving both structural and non-structural approaches are imperative, engaging a multitude of stakeholders. Notably, women’s leadership roles play a pivotal part in disaster risk management and decision-making, given their influential contributions to rural community development. Furthermore, this initiative aims to curtail the disproportionate toll that disasters, and their aftermath, impose on women. In response to these circumstances, YIARI has instituted “The Power of Mama,” a women’s community initiative spearheaded by homemakers in Ketapang Village, focused on addressing the wildfire disaster risk in Borneo’s Protected Forest, Kalimantan. This analysis of women’s empowerment in forest and land fire disaster governance in Kalimantan draws upon semi-srtuctured qualitative interviews and insights gleaned from an extensive literature review.

Abstract

This research analyzes the implementation of Presidential Regulation (PERPRES) Number 87 of 2020 as a significant step in supporting the implementation of the Paris Agreement, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR) in Indonesia. Although the PERPRES shows a strong commitment to these global goals, this research identifies several areas that require further attention to ensure the effectiveness of disaster risk reduction governance. The main focus of the research is on the PERPRES communication strategy, where there is potential to increase transparency, deepen information to the public, and strengthen public support through advocacy campaigns. In addition, this research highlights the evaluation of the success of PERPRES in formulating disaster management policies that are in line with the principles of the Paris Agreement, SDGs, and SFDRR. These findings underscore Indonesia's commitment to achieving adaptive and sustainable disaster management goals, in line with widely recognized global frameworks.
