Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Discovery Learning model, supported by a multiplication "smart board" aid, on the mathematics learning outcomes of third-grade students at SD 24 Palu. The study was motivated by students' poor understanding of multiplication concepts—evidenced by difficulties in solving multiplication problems accurately—and the suboptimal use of concrete, engaging, and interactive learning media during instruction. These conditions resulted in mathematics learning outcomes falling short of expected levels. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design was employed. The research subjects comprised all third-grade students at SD 24 Palu, divided into experimental and control groups. The research instrument was a learning achievement test that had undergone validity and reliability testing, ensuring its suitability for data collection. Data analysis involved normality tests, homogeneity tests, Normalized Gain (N-Gain) analysis, and independent sample t-tests using SPSS version 31. The results indicate a significant effect of the Discovery Learning model—supported by the multiplication smart board—on students' mathematics learning outcomes. This is evidenced by a t-test significance value of less than 0.05 and an improvement in learning outcomes in the experimental class falling into the "medium" category based on N-Gain analysis. Thus, the Discovery Learning model supported by the multiplication smart board is proven effective in enhancing mathematics learning outcomes for elementary school students, particularly regarding the topic of whole-number multiplication.

Abstract

Teacher turnover intention poses a serious threat to teacher retention and the sustainability of national educational quality, particularly in private high schools, where high workloads often coincide with limited compensation. A preliminary survey of 15 private high school teachers in Tangerang Regency revealed that 73.3% of respondents frequently considered leaving the profession or changing schools. This study simultaneously examines the effects of workload, work-family conflict, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment on teacher turnover intention within a single model. This area has received limited research attention in the context of private high school teachers in Indonesia. An explanatory quantitative approach using a cross-sectional survey design was applied to 100 private high school teachers in Tangerang Regency, selected through purposive and snowball sampling. Data were collected via a five-point Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using PLS-SEM (SmartPLS 4), grounded in the Job Demands-Resources and Conservation of Resources frameworks. Six of the ten hypotheses were supported. Workload was found to have a positive effect on turnover intention and work-family conflict, and a negative effect on job satisfaction. Work-family conflict negatively affected job satisfaction; job satisfaction positively affected organizational commitment; and organizational commitment negatively affected turnover intention. The effect of workload on organizational commitment was significant but positive in direction; thus, the hypothesis regarding this relationship was not supported. Teacher turnover intention is primarily driven directly by workload, while organizational commitment serves as the strongest protective factor. Managing workload and strengthening organizational commitment are key priorities for teacher retention policies in schools.

Abstract

Issues were identified regarding the suboptimal learning independence of Phase F Vocational High School (SMK) accounting students and their low cognitive learning outcomes. This situation persisted despite the use of learning modules that previous research showed could positively enhance student independence and learning outcomes. Observations revealed that the printed modules used to facilitate learning failed to provide relevant learning experiences; they lacked interactivity, challenge, and contextual relevance. Consequently, this study aimed to develop an inventory accounting e-module based on the deep learning approach—designed to enhance the learning independence and outcomes of Phase F SMK students—and to evaluate the product's practicality and effectiveness. The development procedure followed the ADDIE approach (Branch, 2009): Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. The trial employed a quasi-experimental, non-equivalent control group design and took place at SMK Negeri 1 Yogyakarta. The subjects included 21 students in the control group, 21 students in the experimental group, and one teacher who taught both classes in parallel. Data were collected using questionnaires and tests, then analyzed through descriptive quantitative methods and inferential statistics. The results indicate that the deep learning-based inventory accounting e-module is highly suitable for improving student learning independence and outcomes; users deemed it practical, and it proved effective in enhancing the learning independence and outcomes of Phase F SMK students.

Abstract

The primary objective of this study was to determine the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of the generative-AI-assisted interactive e-module designed to improve elementary school students’ reading literacy skills and self-efficacy. Product development followed the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation), with a sample of 54 fifth-grade students, using a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group. Data collection instruments included validation sheets, tests, and questionnaires, and data analysis used descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. The research findings indicate that the generative-AI-assisted interactive e-module is highly valid based on validations by media experts (91.66%) and content experts (91.25%); highly practical based on teacher feedback (93.25%); and effective, supported by statistical analysis results showing a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05). Thus, the product is deemed feasible, practical, and effective in increasing elementary school students’ reading literacy skills and self-efficacy. These findings reinforce the value of innovation in improving the quality of learning media and provide insights for teachers seeking to create more adaptive, learner-centred digital media. Future studies are expected to integrate more diverse content, test the product’s effectiveness across various educational levels, and optimise interactive features and generative AI.
