Abstract

The agricultural sector is one of the key sectors in the global and national economy. In Indonesia, agricultural activities include various agricultural production, processing, marketing and distribution activities. One group that is expected to make a significant contribution to the development of the agricultural sector is management students. However, in reality management students' interest in a career in agriculture is relatively low. This research aims to determine the influence of education and training on interest in a career in agribusiness among management students using quantitative methods with a survey approach. The research results show that education and training have a significant simultaneous influence on career interest in agribusiness. These findings also show that education and training explain 15. 8% of the variation in career interest, while the remaining 84. 2% is influenced by other factors not included in the study. Although significant effects were found, the ability of education and training to explain variability in career interests is still limited. This study highlights the need for further research to explore additional factors influencing career interest in agriculture among management students.

Abstract

This qualitative study aims to understand the multifaceted roles of parents in assisting children's learning at home, prompted by the observation that some parents lack involvement or neglect their children's academic performance. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, this research involved two parents as key informants and four children as additional informants. Data were collected through interviews and observations to gain in-depth insights into parental roles. The findings reveal that parents play diverse roles in supporting children's learning, acting as teachers at home who guide and help children understand learning materials, facilitators who provide learning resources like school supplies, motivators who offer encouragement and support, and influencers or directors who guide the development of children's talents and interests. Although some parents face challenges in maintaining consistent involvement or fully understanding their children's talents and interests, this study emphasizes the importance of active parental involvement in supporting children's learning at home as educators, resource providers, motivators, and mentors to optimally develop children's potential.

Abstract

One of the problems by UMKM is the availability of accessing capital to bank financial institutions as business capital credit providers. This research examines the influence and important role of multi-business cooperatives in supporting UKKM capital in Dairi Regency. The aim of this research is to find out the role of all-business cooperatives in supporting UMKM capital in Dairy Regency. In addition, this research aims to uncover various factors and challenges that cause cooperatives to not be optimal in helping the development of UMKM through providing business capital. The method used is a quantitative descriptive method with cross tabulation between variables that are the researcher’s observations. The research results show that the role of cooperatives is still very low in empowering UMKM capital. Factors that cause the low role of all-business cooperatives in Sidikalang City include: 1) the number of cooperatives is less than the number of UMKM, 2) low public understanding of cooperatives, 3) minimal understanding and management of cooperatives, 4) negative views from several individuals have led to a lack of trust among UMKM actors in cooperatives.
