Abstract

Integrated Terminal Makassar's fuel oil bunkering operations at Jetty 1 and Jetty 2 present significant, intertwined occupational and process hazards. This study analyzed these risks by integrating Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC) with Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies, a novel approach for conventional fuel bunkering. HIRARC identified nine hazards across preparation, transfer, and completion stages, initially rated as low risk, subsequently reduced to low or very low via predominantly administrative controls. HAZOP analysis revealed deeper process deviations underlying these occupational hazards, including communication failures, excessive pressure and flow rates, hose integrity degradation, slippery deck conditions, and inadequate residual fuel handling during completion. The integrated HIRARC-HAZOP framework demonstrates that occupational risks directly correlate with process deviations, a connection often overlooked by single-method analyses. While existing controls are functional, three critical areas require reinforcement: formalizing pre-transfer communication checklists, establishing hose integrity documentation beyond visual inspection, and procedurally mandating the draining and disconnection sequence at operational completion. These refinements aim to enhance safety by moving beyond reliance on spontaneous compliance towards a robust, procedurally driven safety management system.

Abstract

Background: Hand hygiene and food safety practices in educational settings remain critical public health concerns, directly impacting student health outcomes and institutional attendance rates. Educational establishments serve as potential transmission sites for respiratory and gastrointestinal infections, making them strategic venues for implementing preventive interventions. Objectives: This systematic review evaluates the effectiveness of hand hygiene and food safety interventions in educational settings on behavioral outcomes and health indicators. Methods: A comprehensive search was conducted across PubMed, Scopus, and Cochrane Library for studies published between 2018 and 2026. Inclusion criteria required interventions targeting hand hygiene or food safety practices in educational settings with quantitative behavioral outcomes. Study quality was assessed using Cochrane Risk of Bias tool version 2 for randomized controlled trials and ROBINS-I for non-randomized studies. Data were synthesized narratively due to heterogeneity in intervention designs and outcome measures. Results: Six studies met inclusion criteria, with sample sizes ranging from 61 to 717 participants across Malaysia, Kenya, Ghana, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. Among food handlers, handwashing compliance improved from 9.09% to 22.27% (p<0.01), overall food safety compliance increased from 74% to 84% (p<0.001), and contamination prevention scores rose from 62.37 to 90.58 (p<0.001). Among schoolchildren, handwashing after toilet use increased from 0% to 88% (d=2.6, p=0.005), with sustained improvements at follow-up assessments. Conclusion: Educational interventions effectively improve hand hygiene and food safety behaviors in educational settings, particularly when combining theoretical frameworks, demonstrations, and interactive learning components to achieve sustained behavior change.

Abstract

The circulation of illegal cigarettes is quite worrying because it is widely circulated and traded in a number of shops, supermarkets and stalls in most areas of Buli Sarani Village, East Halmahera Regency, potentially disrupting the cigarette company factory market and also excise revenues even with the large number of illegal cigarettes circulating without excise that are unstoppable, it also has an impact on public health because of unlimited use. This study aims to determine the duties and authorities of Customs and Excise in tackling the smuggling of illegal cigarettes in Buli Sarani Village, East Halmahera Regency and to determine the obstacles of Customs and Excise in preventing the smuggling of illegal cigarettes in Buli Sarani Village. The type of research used in this study is the empirical legal investigation method. In this study, the author uses a live case study approach as an approach to legal events where the trial is still ongoing. Due to the smuggling of illegal cigarettes, it causes many losses and negative impacts for the country and damages the nation's generation, because this criminal act of smuggling can hinder national development, the potential for state taxes disappears, and embarrasses the nation due to the collaboration between the Indonesian people and foreign parties in committing a form of crime. It is hoped that the results of this research can be used as reference material in the development of legal science, especially in the study of criminal law and criminal procedure law regarding law enforcement by customs in the criminal act of illegal cigarette smuggling.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze ergonomic risk levels among sewing workers at Murya 2 Collection using the Nordic Body Map (NBM), Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA), and Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA). This study used a descriptive design with an observational ergonomics approach. The subjects were six active sewing workers, and data were collected through NBM questionnaires, direct observation, photographic documentation, and interviews. NBM was used to identify subjective musculoskeletal complaints, while RULA and REBA were applied to assess objective postural risks during sewing activities. The results showed that the highest complaints occurred in the upper back, neck, lower neck, right shoulder, middle back, lower back, right wrist, right hand, and right foot sole. Based on total NBM scores, two workers were categorized as high risk, while four workers were categorized as moderate risk. RULA results showed that most workers were in the medium-high risk category, whereas REBA results indicated that all workers were in the medium risk category. The use of the three methods showed that dominant complaints were generally consistent with postural risk findings. Recommended improvements include scheduled microbreaks, targeted stretching, posture awareness, foot relaxation, and simple workstation adjustments suitable for SME conditions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the CAMEL ratio as an early warning system in detecting potential financial distress at Bank Tabungan Negara through a benchmarking approach with other state-owned banks in Indonesia. The study employed a quantitative approach using descriptive and comparative methods. Secondary data were obtained from annual reports and financial statements of state-owned banks during the 2015–2024 period. The research samples consisted of Bank Tabungan Negara, Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Bank Mandiri, and Bank Negara Indonesia. The analysis used CAMEL ratios, namely Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Non-Performing Loan (NPL), Operating Expenses to Operating Income (BOPO), Return on Assets (ROA), and Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR). The results show that all state-owned banks are generally categorized as healthy because they maintain CAR above the minimum regulatory standard and NPL below the maximum threshold. However, Bank Tabungan Negara demonstrated relatively weaker performance compared to other state-owned banks, particularly in terms of asset quality, profitability, and liquidity. BTN recorded the highest NPL ratio of 3.43%, the lowest ROA of 0.78%, and the highest LDR of 102.20%, indicating higher credit risk, lower profitability, and greater liquidity pressure. The study also found that the CAMEL ratio is effective as an early warning system in detecting potential financial distress. The most dominant indicators signaling financial distress were NPL, ROA, and LDR. In addition, Bank Rakyat Indonesia showed the most stable financial performance among state-owned banks during the research period.

Abstract

Indonesia's herbal pharmaceutical industry faces challenges in increasing brand awareness and purchase intention through effective event activation strategies. This study analyzes the effect of event activation on brand awareness and its implications for purchase intention of Promag Herbal products at PT. Kalbe Farma Bandung Branch, with brand awareness as a mediating variable. Internal data paradox shows event activation intensity reaches 126.88% of target, yet event sales only achieve 71.32% of event sales target. The study uses quantitative descriptive-verification approach with 110 respondents and SEM-PLS analysis. Test results show: (1) event activation has positive significant effect on brand awareness (β = 0.694; T = 11.016; p < 0.001); (2) brand awareness has a positive significant effect on purchase intention (β = 0.648; T = 8.202; p < 0.001); and (3) brand awareness partially mediates the effect of event activation on purchase intention (VAF = 68.9%). These findings confirm that the quality of event activation is more important than quantity in forming strong brand awareness as transmission mechanism toward consumer purchase intention.

Abstract

The rapid growth of e-commerce in Indonesia has transformed consumer behaviour in the beauty industry, particularly through Shopee as a dominant marketplace and Somethinc as a leading local beauty brand. This study aims to examine the mediating role of brand trust in the relationship between customer reviews, influencers, price, and purchase decisions of Somethinc beauty products on Shopee. A quantitative approach was employed through an online survey involving 270 Indonesian consumers who had purchased Somethinc products on Shopee, selected using purposive sampling. The research constructs were measured using a seven-point Semantic Differential scale, and the data were analysed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.1. The findings reveal that customer reviews, influencers, and price have positive and significant effects on both brand trust and purchase decisions. Brand trust also significantly mediates the relationship between these three variables and purchase decisions, indicating partial mediation. The model explains 53.7% of the variance in purchase decisions and 30.2% in brand trust, with customer reviews identified as the strongest predictor. These findings highlight the importance of brand trust in strengthening digital marketing strategies for local beauty brands in e-commerce platforms.

Abstract

Abstract Early adulthood is a transitional period in an individual’s life that is often accompanied by the phenomenon of the quarter-life crisis. During this phase, individuals frequently experience confusion in determining life direction, academic pressures, and uncertainty about the future. Such situations can affect the level of subjective well-being among students, which relates to life satisfaction as well as positive and negative emotional experiences. This study was conducted to examine the relationship between quarter-life crisis and subjective well-being among early adult students at the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Prima Indonesia. The study employed a quantitative correlational design. The sample consisted of 100 students for the instrument trial and 200 students for the main study, selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using Likert scales to measure levels of quarter-life crisis and subjective well-being.The research instruments demonstrated excellent reliability, with Cronbach’s Alpha scores of 0.950 for the quarter-life crisis scale and 0.927 for the subjective well-being scale. Data analysis techniques included descriptive statistics and the Pearson Product-Moment correlation test. The analysis revealed a significant negative relationship between the two variables, with a correlation coefficient of r = −0.693 and a significance level of p < 0.001. This finding indicates that higher levels of quarter-life crisis among students tend to be associated with lower levels of subjective well-being. Overall, the results suggest that the relationship between these two variables is strong.

Abstract

Indonesia, US a country endowed with abundant forest resources, faces various forestry-related issues, one of which is illegal logging. Central Kalimantan, particularly the city of Palangka Raya, is among the regions affected by illegal logging activities, which not only cause environmental degradation but also result in economic and social losses. This study aims to analyze lawenforcement efforts carried out by Police Forestry (Forest Rangers) US Civil Servant Investigators (PPNS) in combating illegal logging in Palangka Raya, as well as to identify the obstacles encountered in its implementation. This research employs a juridical-empirical method with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were obtained through interviews with relevant authorities and literature studies, particularly referring to Law Number 41 of 1999 and Law Number 18 of 2013. The results indicate that lawenforcement efforts are carried out through both preventive and repressive approaches. Preventive measures include publicawareness programs, reforestation, establishment of guard posts, and improvement of human resource capacity. Meanwhile, repressive efforts involve patrol activities, law enforcement operations, and legal actions against perpetrators of illegal logging. Thedata show a decline in the number of cases from 2023 to 2025, indicating an improvement in the effectiveness of law enforcement.
