Abstract

Women's economic empowerment still faces various challenges, especially in developing countries and Muslim communities. Islamic financial institutions (IFIs) offer a promising alternative with sharia principles that prohibit usury and emphasize profit-sharing and partnership systems. This study aims to explore the role of IFIs in supporting women's economic empowerment by providing access to sharia-based financing such as murabahah and musyarakah, business training and mentoring, group savings systems, and financial protection products such as takaful. The methodology used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection through in-depth interviews and literature studies. Data analysis was conducted to identify the contribution of IFIs to increasing the economic capacity of women, especially micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The results of the study indicate that IFIs have significant potential in supporting women's economic independence, which has an impact on improving family welfare and strengthening the economic structure of society. This study also found opportunities for IFIs development through financial product innovation that is responsive to women's needs and the use of technology to expand the reach of services. In conclusion, efforts to empower women's economy through IFIs need to continue to be developed strategically in order to realize inclusive and sustainable economic development.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the optimization of the Student Forum for Law and Human Rights Awareness (FPSH-HAM) as a strategic platform in fostering integrity-based leadership character at SMAN 1 Batujajar. The research is motivated by growing concerns over the decline in legal awareness and moral degradation among youth, which often leads to deviant behaviors. FPSH-HAM serves as a non-formal educational initiative that integrates the values of law, human rights, and leadership integrity. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results reveal that active student participation, support from school stakeholders, and ongoing leadership development programs have significantly contributed to shaping responsible, disciplined, and law-conscious student leaders. FPSH-HAM has proven to be effective in internalizing character values and encouraging students to become change agents in their schools and communities. These findings underscore the importance of strengthening youth organizations rooted in law and human rights education as a foundation for building an excellent future generation.

Abstract

Religious moderation has become a key concept in addressing the challenges of pluralism and social harmony in the modern world. In Indonesia, where diverse ethnic groups and beliefs coexist, the Mbojo tribal society, located in West Nusa Tenggara, offers a unique perspective on this issue. The Maja Labo Dahu Nggahi Rawi Pahu motto, which emphasizes unity, mutual respect, and collective responsibility, provides a foundation for religious moderation in this community. This research aims to explore the reflection of this motto in the context of Islamic education in Mbojo society and its role in promoting moderation. The study focuses on understanding how Islamic educational practices align with local wisdom and contribute to the cultivation of religious tolerance and harmony. Using a qualitative approach, the research employs field observations, interviews with community leaders, and an analysis of local educational practices to gather insights into the implementation of religious moderation. The findings indicate that the values embedded in Maja Labo Dahu Nggahi Rawi Pahu significantly influence the educational philosophy of the Mbojo community. Islamic education in this context encourages inclusivity, respect for diversity, and the cultivation of a balanced and moderate worldview. The integration of these values in everyday life has proven to be effective in fostering social cohesion, reducing religious intolerance, and promoting peaceful coexistence. This study contributes to the broader discourse on religious moderation and highlights the potential of integrating local wisdom with Islamic education to create a harmonious and inclusive society.

Abstract

This article examines the perspective of the Lajnah Daimah (Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Fatwa) regarding the legal status of Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) within the framework of Islamic Shariah. MLM is a controversial business model in Indonesia, often criticized for its resemblance to Ponzi schemes and its potential violation of key Islamic economic principles, such as riba (usury) and gharar (excessive uncertainty). Fatwa No. 22935 issued by the Lajnah Daimah explicitly declares MLM to be impermissible (haram), citing its emphasis on commission-based earnings over genuine product value, as well as its inherent elements of riba and gharar. This study provides a critical analysis of the fatwa and its implications for MLM practices in Indonesia, emphasizing the necessity of adhering to Shariah-compliant principles in business activities.

Abstract

In recent years, the awareness of Muslim consumers in Indonesia towards halal products has increased significantly, not only in food and beverages, but also in cosmetic products. The halal label on cosmetics is one of the important factors in influencing purchasing decisions, especially in the midst of rampant imported products and global beauty trends. This study aims to determine the extent to which the halal label influences consumer purchasing decisions for cosmetic products in Indonesia. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method through distributing questionnaires to 200 Muslim respondents who actively use cosmetics. The data were analysed using simple linear regression to test the relationship between halal labels and purchasing decisions. The results showed that the halal label has a positive and significant influence on consumer purchasing decisions. Consumers feel more confident and safe in using halal-labelled cosmetic products because they are believed to be free from unclean and haram ingredients. In addition, the halal label also increases the perception of product quality and credibility in the eyes of consumers. These findings indicate that cosmetics manufacturers need to pay more attention to halal certification as an effective marketing strategy in the predominantly Muslim Indonesian market. The conclusion of this study confirms that the halal label is not just a religious symbol, but a strategic element in building consumer loyalty and confidence.

Abstract

The phenomenon of increasing public awareness of halal products, including cosmetics, encourages the importance of research on factors that influence students' interest in using halal cosmetics. In Bima City, especially among students at Muhammadiyah University of Bima, aspects of knowledge and religiosity are important variables that are thought to play a significant role in the decision to use halal cosmetic products. This study aims to analyze the extent to which knowledge about halal cosmetics and the level of religiosity influence students' interest in selecting and using these products. The research method used is quantitative with a survey approach and distribution of questionnaires to 98 student respondents. The results of the study indicate that: (1) knowledge about halal cosmetics significantly influences students' interest, especially related to understanding the ingredients used and halal certification from official institutions; (2) the level of religiosity also has a significant influence, where students with a high level of religiosity tend to be more careful and selective in choosing products that are in accordance with Islamic values; and (3) simultaneously, knowledge and religiosity make a significant contribution to increasing interest in using halal cosmetics. These findings recommend the importance of continuous education and promotion of halal products, especially through religious and academic approaches. This research is expected to be a reference for manufacturers, academics, and religious institutions in increasing awareness and use of halal cosmetics among the younger generation.

Abstract

The digital transformation era requires schools to adapt their approaches to quality management. However, many schools have not yet optimized the use of data for informed decision-making, particularly in utilizing platforms such as the Education Report (Rapor Pendidikan). This indicates a gap between the availability of digital data and its practical application in school-level quality management. This study aims to analyze educational quality management strategies at SMP PGRI 1 Semarang through the implementation of the Education Report in the digital era. A qualitative approach with a case study method was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with eight key informants, direct observations, and document analysis conducted between January and May 2025. The findings reveal that the use of the Education Report improves transparency, accountability, and the effectiveness of quality management. The platform provides comprehensive data on students’ literacy, numeracy, and character development, enabling more targeted evaluations and planning. Most students reached a “Sufficient” level in literacy and numeracy, though the “Critical Thinking” dimension of character development still requires attention. Key challenges include limited IT infrastructure, platform complexity, resistance to change, and insufficient human resource capacity. This study addresses a research gap regarding school-level data-driven quality management practices and recommends strengthening digital capacity, documentation systems, and multi-stakeholder collaboration to enable schools to become adaptive and sustainable models of data-based quality management in the digital age.
