Abstract

This study aims to compare the behavior of buying cosmetics online and offline in Garut Regency, focusing on influencing factors (product quality, price, halal certification, trust, social influence) and consumer preferences. Using a quantitative approach with a comparative design, data were collected from 100 respondents (50 online, 50 offline) through a questionnaire based on Planned Behavior Theory, analyzed by chi-square test, logistic regression, and path analysis. The results showed that halal certification (? = 0.537, p 0.001) was the most dominant, especially for offline purchases, followed by trust (? = 0.496, p 0.001) and product quality (? = 0.435, p = 0.001) for online. Price and social influence are also significant, with consumer preferences mediating this relationship (?²/df = 1.79, RMSEA = 0.058). Young and high-income consumers tend to choose online, while older and low-income ones choose offline. This study offers insights for cosmetics marketing strategies in semi-urban regions and recommends a mixed-methods approach for future studies

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of the Triple Helix model in strengthening research-based human resources through the strategic partnership between Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), industry, and government. The Triple Helix framework posits that innovation and human capital development emerge from synergistic interactions among universities, industry, and government, each contributing unique resources, knowledge, and policy support. At UNY, this partnership is realized through collaborative research projects, technology transfer, curriculum alignment with industrial needs, and policy facilitation aimed at fostering employability and research competence of graduates. The university serves as a knowledge hub that generates research and innovation, while industries provide practical expertise, funding, and employment opportunities, and the government ensures regulatory support and incentives. This paper analyzes case studies of collaborative programs, highlighting mechanisms such as joint research centers, internships, scholarships, and community service initiatives that integrate research into human resource development. The findings demonstrate that the Triple Helix model fosters mutual benefits: UNY enhances its academic relevance and societal impact, industries gain access to skilled and innovative talent pools, and the government achieves policy goals related to national development and workforce competitiveness. The study also identifies challenges, including misaligned expectations, bureaucratic barriers, and funding sustainability, and proposes recommendations for strengthening the governance of partnerships and aligning stakeholder objectives. Overall, the research concludes that the Triple Helix partnership at UNY exemplifies a promising model for advancing research-based human resources that are adaptive, innovative, and responsive to dynamic industrial and societal needs. This model underscores the importance of sustained communication, trust, and shared vision among stakeholders to optimize the outcomes of such collaborations in the Indonesian context and beyond.

Abstract

This study examines the role of Bank Sampah Berkah (BSB) in Belawan, Medan, in addressing waste management issues while simultaneously improving the economic well-being of the community. Prior to BSB's establishment in 2016, the majority of Belawan residents (76.2%) disposed of waste indiscriminately, resulting in high daily waste generation (6 kg by 32 respondents, 4–6 kg by 42 respondents). BSB's presence significantly altered this behavior, evidenced by the elimination of respondents generating 6 kg of waste and a drastic increase in the group producing less than 3 kg of waste (rising to 40 respondents). The research findings indicate increased public awareness and participation in waste sorting, driven by direct financial benefits from waste savings (estimated average IDR 200,000/month per customer). These funds are utilized for basic needs, children's education, and even business capital. Although BSB manages a smaller volume of waste (9,245.64 kg/year) compared to Bank Sampah Unit Tri Golan Jaya (148,560 kg/year), BSB excels in its measurable and significant microeconomic impact on its customers. Bank Sampah Berkah proves to be an effective model for community-based waste management that empowers the economy, despite facing challenges of fluctuating customer participation and limited access to recycling product markets.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the form of Islamic values-based pedagogical leadership implemented at SD Integral Hidayatullah Putri Hijau in addressing the global challenges of the 21st century. These challenges include moral crises, the flow of globalization, technological disruptions, and socio-cultural changes that directly affect the educational landscape. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study method, data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis. The findings indicate that the principal and teachers at SD Integral Hidayatullah Putri Hijau practice integrative pedagogical leadership by aligning Islamic vision with contextual learning strategies. Core values such as honesty, responsibility, discipline, and Islamic brotherhood serve as the foundation in decision-making processes and educational interactions. Additionally, the integration of spiritual values within the learning process, holistic character development, and the teachers’ role as role models are key elements in nurturing adaptive, critical, and morally upright students. Character-based pedagogical leadership has been proven effective in establishing an educational ecosystem capable of facing contemporary challenges while maintaining Islamic identity. This study further reveals a significant correlation and regression between pedagogical leadership and the development of students’ religious character, as well as their preparedness in confronting the global challenges of the 21st century.

Abstract

This study aims to measure the effectiveness of science video media in enhancing the social-emotional abilities of early childhood learners, covering aspects such as self-awareness, a sense of responsibility, and prosocial behavior. The research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design, involving 18 children aged 5–6 years, divided into an experimental group and a control group. The research instruments consisted of observation sheets, questionnaires, and teacher interview guides. Data analysis was conducted quantitatively using an independent t-test, complemented by qualitative analysis to provide a deeper understanding of the video media's effectiveness. The findings reveal that the use of science video media significantly improved all three social-emotional aspects. Children became more capable of recognizing and understanding themselves, demonstrated increased responsibility toward themselves and others, and showed more active prosocial behavior, such as cooperation and empathy. Science video media proved to be effective in helping children understand social and emotional values through engaging visual and narrative approaches. By presenting real-life situations and relatable characters, the children experienced more practical and contextual learning. These results reinforce social learning theory, which emphasizes the importance of observation and imitation in children's learning processes. Video media allows children to imitate positive behaviors portrayed in the content, thereby naturally shaping their character and social skills. Thus, science video media can serve as an innovative and effective educational tool to support the social-emotional development of young children. This media can be integrated into the learning process both at school and at home as part of an educational strategy that is responsive to children's needs in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how much influence product quality, brand image and payment methods have on purchasing decisions at Yaraoutlett Stores located in Binjai City. The data analysis technique uses multiple linear regression, with the help of SPSS software version 26. The number of samples in this study were 79 respondents who were consumers of Wardah products at the Yaraoutlett Store. The test results on product quality have a positive and significant effect partially on purchasing decisions. The test results on brand image have a partially negative and significant effect on purchasing decisions. The test results on payment methods have a positive and partially significant effect on purchasing decisions. The test results simultaneously show that product quality, brand image and payment methods have a positive and significant effect simultaneously on purchasing decisions. The R2 test results amounted to 41% of purchasing decisions which can be explained by product quality, brand image and payment methods. While the remaining 59% is explained by other factors outside the research model. Thus, improving product quality, brand image and more innovative payment methods can be a driving factor in increasing consumer purchasing decisions for Wardah products at Yaraoutlett Stores.

Abstract

Garut Regency in West Java has an extraordinary tourism potential, with a variety of options such as beautiful mountains such as Papandayan and Guntur, beautiful beaches in the south such as Sayang Heulang and Santolo, plus natural hot springs in Cipanas that make people feel at home soaking up. Not to mention the rich local culture, ranging from typical dodol to handicrafts that can be unique souvenirs. But, even so, there is still a gap in our understanding of what makes tourists choose Garut as their destination—this is very important to encourage the development of the tourism sector there, which can be a support for the local economy. This study tries to dig deeper into the main factors that influence tourists' decisions, using a simple but powerful quantitative method, namely exploratory factor analysis to group variables and logistical regression to see how much influence it has. Data was taken from a direct survey of 100 tourists who were sightseeing in Garut's hit spots, such as Mount Papandayan, Sayang Heulang Beach, Situ Bagendit, Sindangkasih Tourism Village, and Cipanas, the majority of them were domestic tourists who were looking for affordable natural recreation. The results show that there are six key factors that come out: natural attractions and tourism that are the main stars, accessibility and supporting facilities, costs and prices that must be pocket-friendly, social interaction plus local culture, the reputation of the destination from people's reviews, and the diversity of activities such as hiking or outbound that make you not bored. The most dominant is natural attraction, which can explain about 35% of the total variance—that is, the natural beauty of Garut is really a strong magnet for attracting visitors. These findings provide practical implications for tourism managers and local governments, for example increasing digital promotion so that more people know, improving road infrastructure to make access easier, or developing cheap tour packages that combine nature with local culture.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of transformational leadership style and employee competencies on employee performance, with organizational culture acting as an intervening variable at PT. PLN (Persero) UP2D North Sumatra. The study is motivated by the strategic role of leadership and competencies in enhancing organizational performance within the state-owned electricity sector, especially in adapting to dynamic environmental and technological changes. A quantitative approach was used with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 employees using purposive sampling. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the SmartPLS application was utilized to test the proposed hypotheses. The findings show that transformational leadership style and competencies have a significant positive effect on employee performance. Furthermore, organizational culture partially mediates the relationship between both transformational leadership and competencies on employee performance. This indicates that a strong organizational culture enhances the positive effects of leadership and competencies on performance outcomes. The study contributes to the theoretical development of human resource management and provides practical implications for PT. PLN (Persero) in strengthening leadership and cultural transformation to optimize employee performance.
