The Social Role of Parents in Children's Education (Case Study of Fishermen's Families in Kuranji Dalang Village, Labuapi District, West Lombok) Abstract This study aims to examine the social role of parents in children’s education among fishing families in Kuranji Dalang Village, Labuapi District, West Lombok Regency, covering informal, non-formal, and formal education. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. The data consisted of primary and secondary data obtained from research subjects and informants selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that parents’ social role in informal education is carried out through role modeling, habituation, the internalization of character and moral values, and the development of responsibility, discipline, cooperation, and social awareness. In non-formal education, parents play a role by encouraging children to participate in learning activities outside school, developing their social skills, fostering independence, and helping them adapt to their social environment. Meanwhile, in formal education, parents contribute through learning assistance at home, fulfillment of school needs, communication with teachers, the internalization of moral and religious values, and collaboration with schools. Therefore, the social role of parents in fishing families makes an important contribution to supporting children’s character development, social skills, and overall educational success.

Abstract

An Integrative Model of Precision Water Management Based on AWD Reservoir IoT for Dryland Rice during the Second Cropping Season: A Systematic Literature Review and Policy Implications in Central Lombok Abstract Limited water availability during the second cropping season (MT 2) is a major constraint to rice production in semi-arid regions such as Central Lombok Regency, Indonesia. Various water management technologies, including Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD), farm ponds, and the Internet of Things (IoT), have been developed to improve water-use efficiency; however, these approaches are generally studied separately. This study aimed to develop an integrated AWD–Farm Pond–IoT water management model and formulate policy implications to support its implementation in semi-arid rice production systems. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted using articles retrieved from Google Scholar through Publish or Perish (PoP), ScienceDirect, and Web of Science published between 2020 and 2025. The selection process followed PRISMA guidelines and resulted in 25 articles that met the synthesis criteria. The review found that AWD has been reported to reduce irrigation water use by 25–70%, farm ponds function as water storage facilities during deficit periods, and IoT supports real-time monitoring and irrigation decision-making. Based on the literature synthesis, integrating these three components has the potential to establish a precision water management system linking demand, supply, and control within a closed-loop adaptive system. The main contribution of this study is the development of a conceptual demand–supply–control framework as a foundation for precision water management in rice cultivation under semi-arid conditions.

Abstract

Intervensi berupa video edukasi berdurasi empat menit disampaikan melalui WhatsApp selama periode observasi delapan minggu. Effectiveness of Digital Media-Based Education in Improving Self-Care Abilities among Patients with Hypertension in Bireuen Regency Abstract Hypertension is a major global health problem that contributes to high morbidity and mortality and requires long-term management through effective self-care. Limited public knowledge and awareness are among the main causes of suboptimal hypertension control. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of digital media-based education using an educational video in improving self-care among patients with hypertension at Gandapura Public Health Center, Bireuen Regency. A quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design was employed. A total of 174 respondents were selected through purposive sampling based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Self-care ability was measured using the Hypertension Self-Care Profile. The intervention consisted of a four-minute educational video delivered via WhatsApp during an eight-week observation period. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses. Because the data were not normally distributed, the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test was applied. The results showed an increase in the mean self-care score from 2.32 at pretest to 3.29 at posttest. Statistical analysis yielded a Z-value of −11.428 and a p-value of 0.000, indicating a significant difference before and after the intervention. Therefore, educational videos delivered through digital media were effective in improving self-care among patients with hypertension and may support sustainable hypertension management overall.

Abstract

The low physical fitness learning outcomes of fourth-grade students of SD Negeri 1 Landasan Ulin Selatan, characterized by an average score of 70.5 and only 50.0% completion of 24 students, became the background of this study. Although the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model has been widely applied in PJOK learning, classroom action research that specifically examines the progressive integration between video-based motion modeling in the first cycle and competitive motion games in the second cycle as a strategy to improve physical fitness learning outcomes is still very limited. This study aims to improve physical fitness learning outcomes that include aspects of knowledge, skills, and attitudes through the application of PBL with a progressively differentiated two-cycle design. The type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) model Kemmis and McTaggart. The subjects of the study were 24 fourth-grade students selected based on their low initial learning outcomes. The instruments used included an attitude observation sheet (indicators: mutual cooperation, independence, critical reasoning, discipline; scale 1–4), a skills observation sheet (indicators: running on the spot, squats, and push-ups; scale 1–4), knowledge test questions (4 descriptive items), and a student reflection sheet. All instruments were validated by two validators. Quantitative data were analyzed using a comparative descriptive technique with the final score formula: knowledge (30%) + skills (60%) + attitudes (10%), then compared with the Benchmark Reference Guide (PAP). In Cycle I, PBL assisted by learning videos increased the average final score to 74.8 with 66.7% completion. In Cycle II, the integration of fitness movements in competitive movement games increased the average to 82.4 with 83.3% completion, exceeding the 75% success indicator. The findings indicate that PBL supported by video-based stimulation and competitive movement games contributed to the holistic improvement of students' physical fitness learning outcomes in the classroom context studied.
