Abstract

This study investigates the impact of exchange rate fluctuations on Algeria’s foreign trade flows (exports and imports) over the period 1995–2023. It employs the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model to capture both short-term dynamics and long-run equilibrium relationships. The relevance of this topic stems from the growing importance of understanding how currency volatility influences trade performance in the Algerian economy, particularly amid global economic uncertainty and recurrent monetary shocks. A descriptive-analytical approach is adopted, integrating econometric modeling to examine the interactions among key macroeconomic variables—namely, exchange rate, GDP, and inflation. The ARDL methodology facilitates a robust empirical framework, enabling the estimation of both immediate responses and long-term adjustments. The results reveal that GDP has a statistically significant and positive effect on trade flows, reinforcing the crucial role of economic growth in supporting export and import activity. Inflation, by contrast, negatively affects export competitiveness, suggesting the need for coordinated monetary stabilization. The Error Correction Model (ECM) indicates a relatively fast speed of adjustment, with 63.65% of short-term disequilibria corrected in the subsequent period. This study contributes to the limited body of applied research on North African economies by applying a dynamic modeling framework that remains underutilized in the region. The findings offer new insights into Algeria’s macroeconomic behavior under currency shocks and provide a solid empirical foundation for policy formulation. Policy implications highlight the need for a more flexible exchange rate regime, inflation-targeting strategies, and broader structural reforms to stabilize trade performance, reduce external vulnerabilities, and enhance long-term economic resilience.

Abstract

Public relations (PR) plays a crucial role in shaping the reputation of healthcare institutions, particularly in building long-term, value-based relationships with the public. In faith-based hospitals, PR efforts are not only about disseminating information but also about reinforcing institutional identity, trust, and emotional engagement through meaningful communication. This study investigates the public relations strategy employed by RSK Mojowarno during its 130th anniversary, which served as a commemorative moment to amplify the hospital’s presence, introduce new healthcare services, and strengthen its public image by integrating Christian values into its messaging. Rather than treating the anniversary as a ceremonial event alone, the hospital implemented a strategic PR campaign involving participatory activities that aligned with both institutional goals and community interests. The research adopts a quasi-qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were gathered through in-depth interviews with internal stakeholders such as PR staff, human resources personnel, and external community figures, including village leaders. NVivo 15 software was used to assist in thematic coding and analysis, focusing on four dimensions: PR objectives, planning, implementation, and effectiveness. The findings reveal that the strategy centered on three main objectives: promoting healthcare services, reinforcing institutional branding, and engaging with the local community. These were achieved through a series of initiatives such as community health services, blood donation drives, educational seminars, media publication through both digital and offline channels, and collaboration with sponsors and religious institutions. Furthermore, the success of the strategy was measured by event participation, the achievement of program targets, and positive public feedback, especially from social media platforms and direct community responses. The study concludes that commemorative PR, when guided by clear objectives and grounded in institutional values, can serve as an effective approach for enhancing public trust, fostering meaningful relationships, and sustaining a positive institutional image within the healthcare sector.

Abstract

This study explores Taiwan-Indonesia bilateral cooperation strategies in fostering interdependence through people-to-people connectivity during 2016–2024, influenced by Taiwan's New Southbound Policy. Using a qualitative descriptive approach and secondary data, the research highlights Taiwan's initiatives, including scholarship programs, visa facilitation, Muslim-friendly tourism promotion, and protections for Indonesian migrant workers. These efforts have strengthened social, cultural, and educational ties between the two nations. The findings show that these strategies significantly enhance bilateral relations, offering Indonesia opportunities for human resource development and improved migrant worker welfare, while Taiwan deepens its connectivity with a key ASEAN partner. Despite these advancements, Indonesia's adherence to the One China Policy imposes diplomatic constraints, limiting formal interactions and collaborations. The study concludes that people-to-people connectivity is a vital component of Taiwan-Indonesia bilateral relations, fostering mutually beneficial interdependence. It recommends further policy innovations to enhance social and cultural exchanges, ensuring the sustainability of bilateral collaboration.

Abstract

Majelis Taklim, as a non-formal religious education institution, plays an important role in strengthening social harmony in Indonesia, which is rich in ethnic, religious and cultural diversity. This institution not only spreads Islamic teachings, but also promotes the values of tolerance, equality, and moderate religiosity to build an egalitarian and harmonious multicultural society, amidst the challenges of intolerance and social polarization. This research aims to analyze the role and contribution of Majelis Taklim in fostering an egalitarian and religious multicultural society, as well as its relevance in answering modern challenges such as radicalism and lack of technological literacy. The research uses a qualitative approach with literature analysis of various studies related to Majelis Taklim, such as the works of Jamil et al. (2023)[11], Huda (2016)[6], and Sagala (2019). Data were collected from field research, government regulations, and reports of Majelis Taklim activities in various regions, analyzed thematically to identify its inclusive role and barriers. Research Results: Majelis Taklim, such as Intan Raudah in Garut and Al-Hidayah in Lampung, successfully promote tolerance through interfaith dialogue, socio-economic empowerment, and moderate education, reduce religious-based conflicts, and increase social cohesion. However, challenges such as non-standardized curriculum and low technological literacy need to be addressed through training and innovation. Research Benefits: This research provides practical recommendations to strengthen the role of Majelis Taklim as agents of multicultural education and social harmony, supporting inclusive education policies and equitable community development.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) strategies at SMA Thursina IIBS Malang, a private Islamic boarding school that combines traditional boarding school values with international education standards. In Indonesia, where the majority of the population is Muslim, religious-based boarding schools have become a significant educational option. SMA Thursina IIBS Malang stands out for its ability to integrate Islamic values with a globally competitive curriculum, making it an attractive choice for many parents. The main objective of this research is to identify and evaluate the IMC elements used by the school to attract prospective students’ parents, with a focus on how tools such as advertising, public relations, personal selling, direct marketing, and digital or social media promotion are strategically coordinated to support the institution’s marketing goals. Using a quasi-qualitative case study approach, this research gathers data through structured interviews with key stakeholders, including school leaders, public relations personnel, and both current and prospective parents. The findings are expected to offer valuable insights into how IMC can be effectively applied in a specialized educational context, particularly in Islamic boarding schools with international standards. Furthermore, the study aims to provide practical recommendations for SMA Thursina IIBS Malang to strengthen its marketing communication strategy and serve as a reference model for similar institutions across Indonesia.

Abstract

This research phenomenon focuses on the implementation of the independence development program run by the Tanjungpinang Class IIA Narcotics Prison. The program run is still considered ineffective, because the perpetrators who are declared to have completed the coaching and released from prison do not immediately or not at all get a job according to the skills learned, coupled with the stigma of society against drug criminals. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to see the extent to which the effectiveness of existing programs for Prisoners of Prison (WBP) can help productivity and awareness of crimes committed. The theory used by researchers in this study is Sutrisno (2007) regarding program effectiveness. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. The results showed that of the 5 existing indicators, achieving goals is an indicator that can provide effective results, as evidenced by the many coaching programs provided to WBP. Meanwhile, the less effective indicator at this time is real change. This is evidenced by the fact that there are still many cases committed by prisoners after leaving the prison and committing the same crime. The conclusion in this study is that various programs related to talent development and skills have been carried out in accordance with the interests and talents possessed by the WBP of the Class IIA Tanjungpinang Narcotics Prison, such as training in planting, farming, and animal husbandry, to carpentry. Thus, providing a variety of programs that can be utilized after leaving the prison.

Abstract

The First Generation Theory (FGT) approach in fiscal federalism plays a significant role in explaining how central government funding interventions should drive fiscal independence, dependence and effectiveness at the sub-national government level. This study explicitly stresses the budgetary performance of the Tarakan region to assess the level of fiscal autonomy, dependence, and effectiveness from 2011 to 2025. Then, this study adopts a quantitative descriptive approach and content analysis, where the findings are fiscal performance through three leading indicators: AFI ratio (≤0.53) indicating the status of “Towards Independence”, AFD ratio of 71.90% which as “Very High”, and AFE of 82.20% which as “Less Effective”. The research findings justify that the Tarakan region is still very dependent on fund transfers from the central government, has a weak ability to mobilise Regional Income (PAD), and has not consistently achieved the planned revenue targets. The final implication of this study is to inform local governments to strengthen their fiscal space by elevating the capacity of the regional revenue system and adopting accountable financial planning in proportion to local needs.

Abstract

The present study aims to examine the reality of corruption and anti-corruption efforts in Arab countries based on the Corruption Perceptions Index (2022–2024). To achieve this, the research paper is structured into two main sections: the first section addresses Transparency International, while the second focuses on the Corruption Perceptions Index data for Arab countries during the period 2022–2024. The study concludes that Arab countries suffer from a flawed approach to combating corruption. These countries primarily adopt reactive rather than preventive strategies. Furthermore, they have failed to develop integrity systems, as well as effective anti-corruption policies and mechanisms. They also show a lack of seriousness in implementing and maintaining anti-corruption measures. In many cases, their governments face significant challenges due to pre-existing corrupt systems, which limit their ability to address the root causes of corruption.
