Abstract

The challenge of education today is to create a generation that is not only knowledgeable, but also has strong characters, such as curiosity and concern for the environment. However, formal learning often does not provide enough space for exploration and active involvement of students, so that the development of these two characters is hampered. This study aims to build students' curiosity and environmental awareness through research-based learning at the Nature School PKBM Sanggar Anak Alam (SALAM). The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach with quantitative analysis, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Character building is carried out through direct exploration of the surrounding natural environment facilitated by research methods. The results of the study showed that research-based learning encourages students to ask questions, conduct experiments, and explore independently, thereby increasing their curiosity. In addition, students demonstrate real actions in protecting the environment, which reflects the development of environmental awareness. This research-based learning proves that students' active involvement in contextual learning can strengthen their positive character, while creating relevant and meaningful learning experiences

Abstract

Student independence is one of the important indicators in character development and learning ability. However, many students still rely on conventional teaching and are less able to manage the learning process independently. The main problem that needs to be studied is how the application of experiential learning principles can help students develop an independent attitude in learning. This study aims to examine the implementation of experimental learning in improving student independence. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study to analyze the concept of experiential learning and student independence based on previous research findings in the context of education. The results of the study show that this approach encourages students to develop problem-solving skills, creativity, and the ability to make decisions independently. In addition, experimental learning also plays a role in increasing students' self-confidence and responsibility for their learning process. It is hoped that the results of this study can be a reference for educators in designing more effective learning to improve student independence.

Abstract

An ontological understanding of science is crucial to building solid theories, relevant methodologies, and scientifically accountable concepts. As a branch of philosophy, ontology aims to explore the meaning of existence and examine the basic characteristics of everything that exists, both concrete and abstract. Islamic education aims to form character, morals, and knowledge based on comprehensive Islamic teachings. The application of ontology in Islamic education management not only helps in formulating educational goals, but also provides direction in the strategy and implementation of education that is in line with Islamic values. This study uses the literature study method to review and analyze information from various relevant literature sources, such as scientific journals, books, research reports, and academic articles related to the topic discussed. Based on the results of the research, there are three well-known ontological theories, namely: Idealism, which teaches that there is something real in the world of ideas, The real reality is not what is seen, but what is invisible. Materialism, argues that there is something that is actually material or completely dependent on the material. Ontology helps scientists in determining what is the object of study and how they understand the existence of the object

Abstract

Language growth goes hand in hand with technological advances. Generation Z, a generation born and living in the modern era, has a different communication style, such as the use of new terms, a relaxed language style, and the habit of combining Indonesian with English. This study aims to analyze how Generation Z's language variety describes their communication characteristics, and how this language can strengthen the relationship between each character in the film Mencuri Raden Saleh. In this study, the researcher used a descriptive qualitative research method approach and focused on the object of new vocabulary or slang terms, loanwords, and the typical communication style of Generation Z. This film contains many interesting things that can be studied, one of which lies in the language style used, which reflects the way young people communicate. Based on sociolinguistic theory, the social identity theory of Henri Tajfel and John Turner, and the Sapir-Whorf linguistic relativity theory, this study explains that Generation Z's language variety shows their social identity, reflects the culture of this generation, and influences the way they think, interact, and form lifestyles. In the context of Generation Z, the language style they use often shows their cultural identity and preferences, one of which is the use of slang or a relaxed way of communicating. This analysis shows that non-standard language not only functions as a means of communication, but also as a means of building character
