Abstract

This study discusses that various problems, including those faced by teachers and the education system as a whole, are caused by low participation in determining education policy. The quality of education depends on teachers, irrelevant curricula, uneven distribution of teachers, and excessive administrative burdens hinder teachers' work. This study aims to describe the challenges of education and education policy. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a library research method whose data comes from various sources of articles in electronic journals based on Google Scholar data. The data analysis stages are carried out starting from article collection, article reduction, article display, discussion, and conclusions. The study shows that the limited number of teachers and qualifications impacts the quality of learning in remote areas. Strategic approaches are needed such as including training programs and incentives to improve education services. The Total Quality Management (TQM) approach is a strategy to improve the quality of education. TQM prioritizes the active participation of every member of the organization in continuous quality improvement through strong collaboration, continuous process development, and a focus on customer satisfaction. In education, the main consumers are students, parents, and the community, and the focus of improvement must be on their needs

Abstract

Mathematics learning, especially on the topic of adding fractions, is often considered difficult and less meaningful by students. The Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach based on Ethnomathematics connects mathematical concepts with local culture and students' daily experiences, making learning more interesting and relevant. This study aims to design and implement a learning model for adding fractions using RME based on Ethnomathematics and to assess its effectiveness in improving students' understanding. This research uses a Descriptive Qualitative method. Data collection techniques include documentation, observation, and the execution of Student Worksheets (LKPD) as well as enriching self-evaluation for students. The research subjects are fifth-grade students of SDN Dukuh Kupang V Surabaya who participate in learning with local cultural contexts as media, such as using traditional food as a representation of the concept of fractions.

Abstract

Teaching and learning activities in the Informatics subject, particularly at the lower grade levels, have not yet fully utilized instructional media evenly. Traditional one-way teaching methods are still commonly used, and some students struggle to grasp the basic concepts. This study aims to improve students' conceptual understanding in the Informatics subject by utilizing instructional videos developed with Adobe Express as a learning medium. The research employed a quantitative method using a quasi-experimental approach, specifically the Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design, conducted at SMPN 2 Sindangagung. The study population consisted of 56 students from classes VII A and VII B. Data collection was carried out through field observations and interviews to gain insights into the learning environment and student conditions, as well as through questionnaires to obtain measurable research results. The collected data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing. The expected outcome of this research is an improvement in students' conceptual understanding of Informatics, which can contribute positively to both teachers and schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the discovery learning model in thematic learning for fifth-grade elementary school students. The research employs a qualitative approach using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. Data sources consist of 20 national journal articles published between 2019 and 2024, retrieved through Google Scholar with the assistance of the Publish or Perish application. Data collection techniques involve identifying articles using keywords such as “discovery learning,” “thematic learning,” and “learning outcomes in elementary school,” followed by screening based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Selected articles focused on the application of discovery learning in grade five thematic instruction and reported measurable learning outcomes. Data analysis was conducted by reviewing, documenting, and synthesizing findings from the selected articles into descriptive narratives and summary tables. The analysis shows that the implementation of discovery learning increases students’ average learning outcomes from 60.2 to 84.5 and improves mastery levels from 38–60% to 80–100%. Moreover, students’ motivation, activeness, and critical and creative thinking skills also improved significantly. Therefore, discovery learning is recommended as an innovative pedagogical approach to enhance learning engagement and academic achievement in elementary thematic education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the types, effects, and challenges of using concrete learning media in thematic learning at the elementary school level. Using a Systematic Literature Review approach to 20 articles that met the inclusion criteria by searching for published research results in online journals, using the Publish or Perish search engine through Google Scholar, in accordance with the established inclusion criteria. The results of the study show that (1) Various types of concrete media, such as physical props, real objects, three-dimensional models, educational comics, and learning games, can create contextual, enjoyable learning experiences and increase students' interest and understanding, (2) The consistent use of these media has a positive impact on learning outcomes, with reported increases in student engagement and achievement ranging from 30% to 60%. One study even noted an increase in student activity from 56% to 96% after the implementation of concrete media, (3) However, its implementation still faces various challenges such as time constraints, limited resources, varying levels of teacher and student readiness, and difficulties in managing large classes. Therefore, thorough planning, ongoing teacher training, and adequate institutional support are essential to optimize the integration of concrete media in enhancing the effectiveness of thematic learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies, effects, and challenges of implementing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model on students' critical thinking skills in thematic learning at the elementary school level. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach was conducted on 20 scientific articles indexed in Google Scholar, using the Publish or Perish software. The literature selection process followed the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) framework, which includes stages of identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion. The findings show that 85% of the articles reported a significant improvement in students' critical thinking skills through PBL. The strategy, which places students at the center of the learning process, contributed to enhancements in analytical skills (70%), evaluation (65%), and problem-solving (60%). However, 60% of the articles also identified challenges, including limited instructional time (45%), insufficient teacher training (40%), and lack of supporting media (35%). Therefore, collaboration among teachers, schools, and policymakers is crucial to building a learning ecosystem that supports innovative and problem-based instruction

Abstract

This study aims to systematically analyze the literature related to the development of students’ entrepreneurial mindset over the past five years (2019–2024). The research method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA 2020 protocol, supported by visual analysis using VOSviewer. Data sources were obtained from reputable academic databases such as Google Scholar, Scopus, and ScienceDirect. Data collection was carried out by searching for relevant articles using specific keywords aligned with the research topic. Out of 1,245 identified articles, 146 met the inclusion criteria and were selected for further evaluation. Data analysis was conducted using a thematic-descriptive approach by categorizing key findings into several main themes. The results indicate that the formation of students’ entrepreneurial mindset is strongly influenced by experiential learning, institutional support from higher education, and psychological factors such as self-confidence, creativity, and tolerance for failure. Three main clusters emerged from the thematic mapping: (1) cognitive and psychological aspects, (2) the role of lecturers and curriculum, and (3) student entrepreneurial behavior. This study offers significant insights for the development of higher education policies to foster an innovative and resilient generation of young entrepreneurs through cross-sector collaboration.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the understanding of seventh-grade students at Rangga Rame Private Junior High School regarding mathematical concepts, particularly those related to algebraic expressions. Three seventh-grade students were selected for this qualitative descriptive study based on their conceptual knowledge test results. The ability levels of the three students are categorized as high, medium, and poor. Data collection techniques used structured interviews and tests. Data analysis techniques involved data reduction, data presentation, and data conclusion. The research results show that the differences in students' understanding of mathematical concepts result in grouping students into three levels. The indicators of conceptual understanding found include: the ability to explain concepts both verbally and in writing; grouping objects based on certain criteria; applying concepts procedurally; connecting concepts to solve problems; and presenting concepts in various representations, including graphs, tables, and diagrams. Eighteen students participated in the test; six of them were in the high group, four in the medium group, and the remaining six in the low group. The low level of knowledge is caused by several factors, including a lack of understanding of the questions, rushed answers, and inadequate mastery of the subject matter during the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the role of innovation in the development of information technology (IT)-based entrepreneurship through a systematic literature review (SLR) approach with the Prisma technique and analyze the role of innovation in supporting the success of information technology-based entrepreneurship through a systematic literature review approach with the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) technique. Innovation is a key factor in creating competitive advantage, expanding the market, and increasing the sustainability of Information Technology businesses in the digital era. Innovation is considered a key factor in developing new products, services, and business models that are relevant to the dynamics of the digital market. This study identifies and reviews a number of scientific publications published in the period 2023–2025, obtained through the Scopus, IEEE Xplore, and Google Scholar databases. The results of the study show that innovation plays an important role in increasing the competitiveness, adaptability, and sustainability of Information Technology-based businesses. These findings also reveal that collaboration factors, digital ecosystem support, and adoption of cutting-edge technology are the main drivers of the success of innovation in Information Technology entrepreneurship.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes using Gimkit as a learning medium. The research method used is quantitative with a type of Quasi Experiment using a research design known as Nonequivalent Control Group Design, conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Kadugede. The population used in this study is students in class VII A and VII D, totaling 54 students. Data collection techniques involved observation, interview techniques, and questionnaires. The data analysis techniques used are normality test, homogeneity test, hypothesis test, or T-test. The results showed that the average learning interest of students in the class using Gimkit was 41.12, which was higher than that of the class without Gimkit, which was 30.04. This 10.08 point difference was statistically significant (p = 0.000), indicating that the use of Gimkit is effective in increasing students’ learning interest in English at SMP Negeri 2 Kadugede. Based on the results of the Paired Samples T-Test, the significance value obtained was 0.000 (< 0.05), thus H₀ is rejected and H₁ is accepted. This means that there is a significant difference in learning interest between students who used Gimkit and those who did not. Therefore, the use of Gimkit as a learning medium has been proven to enhance students’ interest in learning English.
