Abstract

The study aims to identify the excellence in the use of two types of scale by comparing the Likert Scale and the Semantic Differential Scale. In addition, the study aims to identify the constructs of the Mendeley application as well as the indicators that it has shaped. The study itself is developmental research. The instruments for the Likert Scale and the Semantic Scale have been developed by referring to the same guidelines. Then, the respondents in the study are 59 journal administrators throughout Indonesia. After the data have been gathered, the data are analysed by using the exploratory factor analysis and the confirmatory factor analysis. The results of the study show that four factors that have been formed in the construction for the Mendeley application using the two scales. Based on the measurement results, it is found that Semantic Differential Scale is more excellent in terms of validity and reliability.

Abstract

The ability to read and write the Quran (BTQ) is an essential skill in elementary education, vital for cultivating a fluent and rhythmic generation of Quranic scholars. The UMMI and At-Tartili systems are two prevalent approaches, each emphasizing distinct aspects: reading fluency and accuracy. This study seeks to assess and contrast the efficacy of both methodologies utilizing the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model. A mixed-methods approach was used to gather data through observations, interviews, and student reading assessments at two madrasahs in Kediri Regency. The research findings indicate that the UMMI approach significantly enhances students' reading fluency and motivation, whereas the At-Tartili method demonstrates superiority in tajwid accuracy and reading quality. Context and input assessment indicated resource preparedness for method implementation; however, process elements require enhancement, especially in terms of learning differentiation. This discovery advocates for the creation of a hybrid model that amalgamates the advantages of both methodologies to enhance the efficacy and equilibrium of BTQ learning. This study advances the creation of an evidence-based Quranic learning model pertinent to madrasah education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the similarities and differences between parents’ and teachers’ perceptions regarding the use of digital devices in children’s discipline education, as well as to analyze the role of Civic Education (PKn) as a framework for developing disciplined behavior in device use at home and at school. The research was conducted at SDN Mangunan 02, Blitar, using a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings indicate diverse perceptions of device use: some parents have provided their children with personal devices, while others restrict access by allowing the use of parents’ devices only. A similar dynamic appears among teachers: the use of devices at school remains limited due to the small number of Chromebooks available to be shared among classes, yet teachers still encourage digital engagement through online assignments. Furthermore, PKn values are shown to be an important framework in fostering discipline, responsibility, and self-control in children’s use of technology. This study highlights that synergy between parents’ and teachers’ perceptions and educational roles is essential to cultivating a healthy digital discipline culture among elementary school students.

Abstract

As the number of full-time working parents continues to rise, so does the demand for high-quality daycare services. However, many daycare centers still lack structured learning programs that support the holistic development of young children. This study responds to that gap by developing a creative learning model grounded in play-based learning, specifically designed for caregivers at Sunshine Daycare, an early childhood center under the management of the Early Childhood Education Department (PG-PAUD), UNESA. Using the ADDIE model within a Research and Development (R&D) framework, data were collected through observations and interviews with caregivers and parents. The results reveal that implementing play-based creative learning empowers caregivers to plan engaging daily activities and signature programs that foster children's development across multiple domains: language, cognitive, motor, moral-religious, and socio-emotional. These findings underscore the urgency of integrating structured, child-centered approaches in daycare settings to ensure purposeful and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.

Abstract

This study examines how artificial intelligence (AI)-based tools can support English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners in suburban universities who face limited opportunities for speaking practice and authentic communication. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, the research involved 15 students from Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Blitar and Universitas Merdeka Pasuruan. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using phenomenological reduction, detailed description, and identification of essential meanings. The findings indicate that AI-powered speaking tools enable students to practice independently, receive immediate and non-judgmental feedback, and improve confidence despite restricted human interaction. Participants reported greater flexibility and accessibility in developing speaking skills. However, the study also emphasizes that the effectiveness of AI tools depends on appropriate pedagogical integration, including teacher guidance, alignment with learning objectives, and opportunities for peer collaboration. The study concludes that AI can effectively enhance speaking competence when combined with meaningful human support and instructional facilitation.
