Tanwir Arabiyyah: Arabic As Foreign Language Journal is a journal that publishes research articles related to Arabic and Learning Arabic as a foreign language. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of students in grade 2 Islamic boarding school Darul Mukhlisin Karang Baru Aceh Tamiang to understand al-Qawaid an-Nahwiyah before and after learning using conventional and electronic mind-mapping strategies. Then knowing the effect of using conventional and electronic mind mapping on the understanding of al-Qawaid an-Nahwiyah students in grade 2 Darul Mukhlisin Islamic boarding school Karang Baru Aceh Tamiang. The type of research used is field research with experimental quantitative methods. For data processing, the t-test statistical method was used. The results of this study indicate that students' abilities are still weak in understanding al-Qawaid an-Nahwiyah before using conventional and electronic mind-mapping strategies. This can be seen from their average score which only reached 61.7 with a standard deviation of 19.5. After using this strategy, the students' abilities increased and improved, this can be seen from the results of their average score which reached 73.7 with a standard deviation of 16.6. From the data processing using the t-test, the T-count value is 5.364, then the T-count value is greater than T-table because the T-table value is only 2,042. So it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of using conventional and electronic mind mapping in the understanding of students in grade 2 Islamic boarding school Darul Mukhlisin Karang Baru Aceh Tamiang on al-Qawaid an-Nahwiyah.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the discrepancy between the composition of Itima' material in the Arabic Language Book Class 1 Madrasah Ibtidaiyah and the standard of presentation of istima' material by Abdurrahman bin Ibrahim al-Fauzan. Therefore, this study aims to see the suitability of the preparation of the book material in the Arabic Language Book of Class 1 Madrasah Ibtidaiyah with the standard presentation of the book material by Abdurrahman bin Ibrahim al-Fauzan. This research method uses a library research approach. The data sources used in this research are books, journals, and internet sites related to the chosen topic. Data collection techniques by identifying discourse from books, articles, journals, internet and other related information. Furthermore, it is analyzed by descriptive analysis method, namely by collecting and compiling a data, then analyzing the data. From the results of the analysis of the Istima' material in the Arabic Language Book for Class 1 of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, it was found that the Istima' material in the Arabic book was in accordance with the standard for presenting the book's material, but still needed improvements in certain parts. This is evidenced by the use of special material in the Arabic language book in the Arabic language learning process, and the content of the existing material is in accordance with the level of student needs.

Abstract

Arabic language learning management strategy will be explained in this study. The purpose of this study is to examine and discuss the actual concept of Arabic language learning strategy. The aspects that will be described are as follows: 1) definition of Arabic language learning strategy, 2) function of Arabic language learning strategy, 3) types of strategies in Arabic language learning, 4) learning scope, 5) learning management. This study was designed by applying a descriptive qualitative study approach. Data were obtained from books on the concept of Arabic language learning strategy. The data were analyzed by observing the library by searching and collecting books or references related to this discussion. Based on the results, 1) Arabic language learning strategy are rules, plans and steps in the process of learning activities to realize the goals of Arabic language learning, 2) Arabic language learning strategy functions to prepare material and assist students in mastering the language, 3) Arabic learning scope includes: understanding, goals and principles of Arabic language learning, 4) learning management related to readiness in learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between ability to pronounce Arabic letters and Imla' ablity in first grade students of SMP Ma'had Tahfizul Qur'an Fajar Islam Tanjung Morawa. The method used is a quantitative approach with a correlation method and the data analysis method uses statistical data with the Product Moment formula to find the results of the study. The result is that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. That is, there is a correlation between ability to pronounce Arabic letters and Imla’ ability in first grade students of SMP Ma'had Tahfizul Qur'an Fajar Islam Tanjung Morawa with a correlation value of 0.765 which shows a strong and unidirectional correlation.

Abstract

Most of Malaysians choose frozen food in their lives because of its quick preparation and availability. The indicative elements are usually displayed on the packaging of frozen food to know its components, method of preparation, production and expiry date. This study aims to discover the semantic elements present in the packaging of frozen food, to know the semantic elements depicted and their role in this packaging, and to know the effects of the semantic elements on consumers. The study followed the descriptive analytical approach, which is the description of halal frozen food and the analysis of the interview conducted with the participants. This study consists of three participants to know the experiences and their attention on the semantic elements in the cover. The data was analyzed by extracting important insights using Atlas.ti. The results of the study indicated there of; The semantic elements in the packaging have an impact on consumers. The study ended with recommendations and suggestions.

Abstract

Learning planning must be prepared in a systematic way and according to the needs to  achieve the desired goal. In this case, the researcher used qualitative research in describing how the learning planning is, as for the points to be discussed, namely; (1) finding relevant data to the topic being discussed, (2) collecting and classifying data from the sources to be analyzed, (3) analyzing the advantages and disadvantages related to the data, (4) concluding the results of the analysis. The results of the analysis can be concluded that learning planning must start from external aspects such as curriculum, teaching materials and internal aspects such as learning methods, learning strategies and techniques, learning media and learning resources.

Abstract

Good exercises affect the quality of the textbook. This study aims to describe the types of exercises (mechanism / patterns, meaning, communication) in the Arabic language teaching book for the second intermediate grade of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in 2020 AD, and to describe the types and form of the questions of the exercises, and to describe the exercises of four language skills and three language elements in it. This study follows the descriptive approach with a qualitative approach. The results revealed that the exercises in this book included patterns, meaning, and communication exercises, and also included 17 forms of questions. As for the exercises for language skills and language elements, there were no exercises for listening skill or sounds exercises in this book. With this comprehensiveness, the exercises in this book are considered good and valid for measuring students' abilities.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the style of satire (hijā’) used by Ibn Taymiyyah in his book titled "Qasīdah Lāmiyah (The Satirical Poem)". It is a work by Ibn Taymiyyah that contains satirical poetry directed towards those who questioned his scholarly identity. Hijā’ style is poetry used to mock other poets in a distinctive manner, often in the form of self-praise or disparagement of a group. However, since the advent of Islam, this style has frequently been used to defend Islam, whether individuals or groups, including scholars like Ibn Taymiyyah. This research employs a qualitative approach using content analysis method. Content analysis, according to Creswell, is a qualitative research method used to identify specific patterns or themes within text. The analysis results indicate that verses of satirical poetry (shiʿr hijâ) were found in Qasīdah Lāmiyah, consisting of 2 types of ethical satire (al-hijâ al-akhlâqî) and 14 verses of religious satire (al-hijâ al-dînî).

Abstract

This study aims to highlight, describe and analyse the experiment conducted at the Arabic Preparatory School for Girls in Bandar Seri Begawan (SPABSB) and explore how it can be utilised to improve the teaching of Arabic to non-Arabic speakers. The Arabic school in Brunei seeks to leverage modern theories and methods of language teaching. The school established a committee to oversee all aspects related to the Arabic language. This committee aims to enhance Arabic language instruction by mandating that all teachers of Arabic language and religious studies, as well as students, communicate in Arabic. They additionally translated posters and publications into Arabic, while arranging professional development events to educate teachers on language teaching theories and methods. They develop class activity books and materials for extensive Arabic practice both inside and outside the classroom. Furthermore, they organise various intensive learning activities to promote Arabic language usage, such as competitions encompassing plays, speeches, group presentations, calligraphy, and singing in Arabic. They also initiated numerous activities aimed at teaching Arabic culture, including Arabic festivals, expeditions, Arabic Week, and open days. The school encourages the use of Arabic language in all activities and events. This study found that the approach adopted by the (SPABSB) serves as a valid model for other newly established schools. It emphasises a balance between extracurricular activities organised by the administration and academic pursuits within the classroom. It suggests the integration of Arabic language use both inside and outside the classroom, highlighting that traditional classroom teaching alone may not suffice to enhance Arabic language proficiency and develop students' skills

Abstract

This study aims to explore HOTS (Higher Order Thingking Skill) in Class VIII Arabic Textbooks. This research uses qualitative descriptive methods with document analysis techniques (content analysis). The document analyzed in this study is a Class VIII MTs Arabic textbook published by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia in 2020. This study concludes that HOTS problems are more complex, require deeper thinking, and often require the application of concepts in new or complex contexts. Of the 16 question commands on Tadrib Maharah Qiraah contained in 6 dars in the MTs Class VIII Arabic textbook, it was found that only 6 question commands included the cognitive level at the HOTS level with 3 categories of question commands, namely determining paragraph titles, answering questions based on text and making sentences based on images.
