Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research was to create an appropriate/ suitable listening workbook that matched the needs of Class X Marketing students of SMK. In this research, the method used was developmental research method based on the ADD instructional design by Branch (2009). A table of Item specification and an indicator of product maturity taken from Blibro (2012) were available to help self-validating the workbook. From the analysis, three major gaps were identified from the teaching of English to Class X Marketing students of SMK namely, the need of having well-made listening activities with recordings, less suitable learning resources were available, and less access to books that use curriculum 2013. Then, the identified gaps were used as the basis for designing the product. The design phase outlined what materials the researcher needed to cover, what kind of lesson objectives the researcher needed to design, and how many units the researcher needed to make. At the development phase, the researcher finished drafting the blueprint of the listening workbook and made a prototype of it. The workbook that was developed then was validated internally. A table of product specification and an indicator of product maturity taken from Blibro (2012) were used. The result showed that the workbook was ready to be tested on the real environment implementation. Abstract

Abstract      The main problem in this research is the difficulty of learning media procurement in math lesson especially on fractional concept material. Many learners have difficulty understanding fractions because learning tends to use a mechanistic way of giving rules directly to be memorized, remembered and applied, so that the fractional concepts will be quickly forgotten by learners and will be difficult to apply the concept. The results of this research are: (1) multimedia design is carried out through stages such as conducting preliminary research, designing, material collection, initial product development, material expert validation, media expert and design expert, (2) multimedia profile depicted in the storyboard contains the forms of drawings accompanied by explanations or narratives used in the process of producing multimedia programs, so that in the process of producing multimedia programs will be more structured and orderly, (3) the implementation of multimedia learning is done by students with enthusiasm, it looks more learners enthusiastic in the implementation of learning so that learners more independent and active, and (4 Learning outcomes of learners who use multimedia, this can be seen from the differences in learning results fractional concept between before learning and after learning to use multimedia.      Keywords: Multimedia, Fractional Concept, Borg and Gall.
