Abstract : Role play in Video Modelled Conversation are proposed in the teaching of speaking not only because of their appealing forms but also due to their salient features, as multimedia to improve the students? motivation in speaking. This study investigated students? motivation by using Dornyei?s framework of language learning motivation. A questionnaire and a semi-structured interview were also employed as a means of collecting the data through a classroom action research. The procedures included planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The results showed that teaching speaking using Role Play in Video Modelled Conversations could successfully improve students motivation in speaking. They find this technology can enhance their English learning motivation and effectively boost their English speaking ability. Keywords : motivation, Role Play, Video Modelled Conversation, framework. Abstrak : Role Play didalam Video Modelled Conversation dirancang dalam pengajaran speaking bukan saja karena bentuknya yang menarik tetapi juga karena fitur-fiturnya yang menggugah sebagai multimedia untuk meningkatkan motivasi siswa dalam berbicara. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki motivasi siswa dengan menggunakan kerangka motivasi belajar bahasa yang dikembangkan oleh Dornyei. Angket dan wawancara cara semi terstruktur juga digunakan sebagai instrumen untuk pengumpulan data melalui penelitian tindakan kelas. Prosedur penelitian meliputi : perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa pengajaran speaking menggunakan Role Play dalam Video Modelled Conversation telah berhasil meningkatkan motivasi siswa dalam berbicara. Mereka menemukan bahwa teknologi ini dapat memacu motivasi belajar bahasa Inggris dan secara efektif meningkatkan keterampilan bahasa Inggris mereka. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa setelah diberikan tugas mind map pada materi fungsi kuadrat kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Raya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan bentuk penelitian survei. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 29 orang siswa kelas XD SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Raya. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik pengukuran melalui tes tertulis yang disajikan dalam bentuk soal tes komunikasi matematis, teknik komunikasi tidak langsung yaitu tugas membuat mind map tentang materi fungsi kuadrat, dan komunikasi langsung melalui wawancara tidak terstuktur. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa setelah diberikan tugas mind map pada materi fungsi kuadrat di kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Raya berdasarkan pencapaian indikator berada pada kategori rendah yaitu 40,22 %. Kata kunci: Mind Map, Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis Abstract: This study aims to determinethe student's mathematical communication skill in quadratic function problem of the students class X SMAN 1 Sungai Raya by using learning method mind mapping. The research method have been used in descriptive method with survey approach. This study used 29 students in class XD for the subject research. Data collection method for this study used three approachs, there are written test that disclosed within problemsof mathematical communication, indirect communication that is the task of creating a mind map of the problems quadratic functions, and direct communication through structured interviews. Based on the data analysis, the result of this study showed that the students' mathematical communication skills by using learning method mind mapping ona quadratic function problemsin class X SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Raya are in the low category(40.22%). Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan tingkat efektivitas model pembelajaran generatif berbantuan eksperimen dalam meremediasi miskonsepsi siswa pada materi getaran di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 10 Pontianak. Metode penelitian adalah quasi eksperimental design dengan rancangan nonequivalent control group design yang dimodifikasi. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas IXE sebagai kelas eksperimen I dan kelas IXF sebagai kelas eksperimen II. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes pilihan ganda yang disusun menggunakan metode Certainty of Response Index (CRI) termodifikasi  berjumlah 18 soal. Berdasarkan uji kesamaan dua proporsi juga diperoleh hasil Zhitung (0,09) ≤ Ztabel (1,96) yang menunjukan tidak ada perbedaan antara model pembelajaran generatif berbantuan eksperimen nyata dan model pembelajaran generatif berbantuan eksperimen virtual dalam meremediasi miskonsepsi siswa. Penerapan model pembelajaran generatif berbantuan eksperimen nyata maupun virtual dapat menurunkan jumlah miskonsepsi siswa (ES=1,55). Model pembelajaran generatif berbantuan eksperimen diharapkan dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif kegiatan remediasi untuk mengatasi miskonsepsi siswa. Kata Kunci: Remediasi, Miskonsepsi, Generatif, Eksperimen, Getaran Abstract: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the generative learning model with experiments in remediating students’ misconceptions on vibration in class VIII SMP Negeri 10 Pontianak. The research method was quasi experimental design with a modified nonequivalent control group design. The samples were IXE class as an experimental class I and IXF  as an experimental class II. The instrument used was multiple-choice test that were prepared by using the Certainty of Response Index (CRI) modified method with a total of 18 questions. Based on the equality test of two proportions obtained Zcount (0.09) ≤ Ztable (1.96), which showed no difference between the generative learning model with real experiments and generative learning model with virtual experiments in remediating students’ misconceptions. The implementation of generative learning model with both real and virtual experiments can reduce the number of students’ misconceptions (ES = 1.55). Generative learning model with experiments is expected to be used as an alternative remediation activities to solve students' misconceptions. AbstractThe purpose of this study is to determine the differences of the learningoutcomes of economic subject between OSIS member students and nonOSIS member students of Madrasah Aliyah Al-Mustaqim KubuRaya. The population in this study was all students of class XI, which consist of 90 students. The sample in this study amounted to 30 students consisting of 15 OSIS member students and 15 non-OSIS member students, the sample was taken by using purposive sampling technique. This study used a quantitative approach to the type of comparison. The methods of data collection were done by observation, interview and documentation. The data analysis was using T-test analysis technique of SPSS for Windows Version 22.0 program. The results of the t-test showed tcount (3,415) > ttable (2,048) with a significance value of 0.05 and mean (61, 05 <71.21) which meant that there were differences of the learning outcomes of economic subject of the OSIS member students with non-OSIS member students, where the learning outcomes of OSIS member students are lower than non-OSIS member students however there are some students who the member of OSIS have high learning outcomes.Keywords: Learning Outcomes, Non-OSIS Members, OSIS Members

Abstract:This study aims to know students? ability in paraphrasing metaphors found in the novel within certain chapter in sixth semester students of English Department Study Program of Tanjungpura University in academic year 2016/2017. The method used is the descriptive qualitative method which is to find deeper understanding toward students? ability in paraphrasing the metaphors. The population of this research is 10 students who produced 100 text of metaphor paraphrase. The result of this study shows that the students used all the procedure except calque. The most used procedures by the students are equivalence procedure with percentage 29% out of 100%. At the end of the research, the researcher found that the students skill in paraphrasing the metaphor were quite good. The students scored above average in total nine of ten students. Thirty three errors found in total consist of fourteen errors in grammar and nineteen errors in paraphrasing. Keywords: Paraphrase, Metaphor, Students? Ability Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan dalam menafsirkan metaphor pada novel dalam bab tertentu oleh mahasiswa semester enam Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Universitas Tanjungpura tahun ajaran 2016/2017. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskripsi kualitatif untuk pemahaman lebih dalam terhadap kemampuan siswa menafsirkan metafor. Populasi penelitian ini adalah 10 mahasiswa yang menghasilkan 100 teks tafsiran metafor. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa menggunakan semua prosedur kecuali calque. Prosedur yang paling banyak digunakan adalah prosedur keseimbangan dengan persentase 29% dari 100%. Diakhir penelitian, peneliti menemukan bahwa kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menafsirkan metaphor cukup baik. Mahasiswa memiliki nilai di atas rata-rata dengan total 9 dari 10 orang. Total tiga puluh tiga kesalahan ditemukan terdiri atas empat belas kesalahan di tata bahasa dan sembilan belas kesalahan dalam menafsirkan. Kata Kunci : Tafsiran, Metafor, Kemampuan Mahasiswa

AbstractThis research attempted to find out whether teaching writing arguments in discussion text through reasoning-gap activity based on Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) was effective or not. To accomplish the purpose of this study, quasi experimental design was utilized. The measurement technique was employed in this research. The data collection instrument was written test. T-test formula was applied to analyze the quantitative data obtained through written test, while an analytic scoring rubric was developed to assess the students? argument writing in discussion text. The results of data analysis through statistical procedure of t-test confirmed the superiority of the experimental group to the control group, and reasoning-gap activity helped the students to improve writing argument in discussion text. AbstractThis thesis entitled "Case Study of Students who are Easily Angry Impact of Broken Home in SMAN 5 Pontianak". Common Problem in this research: "How to effort to alleviate students easily angry impact of broken home in SMAN 5 Pontianak?". As for the sub-problems: 1) How are the characteristics of students easily angry the impact of broken home in SMAN 5 Pontianak ?, 2) What factors cause students to easily anger the impact of broken home in SMAN 5 Pontianak ?, 3) What alternative assistance is appropriate to address students the irritable impact of broken home in SMAN 5 Pontianak ?. This study aims to reveal students easily angered the impact of broken home in SMAN 5 Pontianak. The approach used in this research is qualitative by using descriptive method. The form of research used is case study (case study). Data collecting techniques include direct observation, direct interview, home visit, and documentation. Based on the results of observations and interviews concluded the characteristics of students who have the nature of irritability that is often said roughly to berate his friend. The alternative assistance provided is to use the REBT and behavioral counseling approach with confrontation techniques and assertive techniques. AbstractThe title of this thesis: ‘The Analysis of The Cause Factors of The Unattainable Standard Minimum Criteria on Sociology Learning at The Students of Class XII IIS 1 at SMAN 2 Pontianak’. The purpose of this study was to determine the cause factors of the unattainable standard minimum criteria on sociology learning. The research was conducted by using qualitative approach with descriptive research method. The techniques of data collection were observation techniques, interviews and documentation studies while data collection tools were observation guidelines, interview guidelines, field notes and documents. The result of study about the cause factors of the unattainable standard minimum criteria on sociology learning at the students of class XII IIS 1 at SMAN 2 Pontianak based on the use of curriculum 2013, was collected as follows: (1) the lesson plan factor of sociology learning is the cause ; the purpose, the method and media which were inappropriate with the actual plan, (2) the lesson implementation factor of learning sociology learning is the cause; the students lack of readiness, interest and active as well as the teacher is less motivating (3) the lesson evaluation factors of sociology learning is not the cause ; the problem has been presented well from the appropriateness and difficulties of material, construction and the language used is easy to understand. Key Words : Unattainable Standard Minimum Criteria, Sociology Learning

AbstractCareer guidance is guidance given to students to help students in planning, developing and solving career problems to get the best possible adjustments to their future, so that students choose higher education according to their interests, talents and abilities. Therefore, the researcher wants to know more deeply about the influence of career guidance on the interest in continuing higher education in class XI students of SMA Negeri 3 Sekadau Hilir. This study aims to describe whether there is an effect of career guidance on the interest in continuing higher education in students of class XI of SMA Negeri 3 Sekadau Hilir in 2018 Academic Year. The methodology of this study is descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The population of this study was 46 students. Based on the results of data analysis shows that career guidance is categorized as "good" with a percentage of 88%. Meanwhile, interest in continuing higher education is categorized as "good" with a percentage of 89%. The results of the product moment correlation of these two variables were obtained r count = 0.879, which means that there is an effect of career guidance on the interest in continuing higher education in students of class XI of SMA Negeri 3 Sekadau Hilir. If the career guidance provided is getting better, the better the interest in continuing higher education for students. Vice versa, if the career guidance provided is not good, then it is not good for students to continue their education.Keywords:Career Guidance, Interest in continuing to college

AbstractThis study aims to obtain clear and accurate information about the learning material of local history, in instilling nationalism in students of class XI Pontianak 1 State High School. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research method in the form of case study research. The source of this research data is the history subject teacher, the 11th grade student, and the deputy head of the curriculum in the Pontianak City State Senior High School 1. The data is history learning which contains the existence of local historical material, in instilling nationalism in students and the results of interviews and observations, as well as documentation. Based on the results of the study showed that the teacher has not included local historical material in planning, but in the learning process the teacher has delivered local history material this is evidenced by the existence of daily test questions that contain the existence of local historical material. Local history material in instilling nationalism in students especially class XI in Pontianak 1 State High School is already good, which is shown from the learning and evaluation process which has included local history material so that there is a change in attitude towards students related to their nationalism attitude.But there are still some that have not been optimally seen from planning that have not included the existence of local historical material.
