Abstract

This Classroom Action Research is conducted to improve students’ vocabulary mastery through Jumbled Letters Game. The subjects of this research were 35 class VIIA students of SMPN 1 Kembayan, Sanggau in academic year 2013/2014. To collect the data of research, the writer and research collaborator employed observation checklist to know students’ progress in learning English vocabulary within two cycles. Field notes were also used to monitor the teacher and students’ performance. The result of data analysis showed that class VIIA students got their progress in mastering vocabulary. In the first cycle, the students’ mean score of vocabulary mastery was only 58.57 and categorized as poor. By doing all the steps of classroom action research, the process of teaching and learning was evaluated and modified, including providing clues for the students during playing the game. Then in the second cycle, the mean score of the students was improved to 72 which categorized as good. It showed that there was an improvement of the students’ English vocabulary mastery after applying the jumbled letters game during teaching learning activity. Keyword: vocabulary mastery, jumbled letters game, improving Abstrak: Penelitian Tindakan Kelas ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan penguasaan kosa kata siswa melalui Permainan Huruf Bercampur. Subyek penelitian ini adalah 35 siswa kelas VIIA dari SMPN 1 Kembayan, Sanggau tahun ajaran 2013/2014. Untuk pengumpulan data penelitian, penulis dan kolaborator penelitian menggunakan checklist observasi untuk mengetahui kemajuan siswa dalam mempelajari kosa kata Bahasa Inggris dalam dua siklus. Catatan lapangan juga digunakan untuk melihat performa guru dan siswa. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas VIIA mengalami kemajuan dalam penguasaan kosa kata. Dalam siklus pertama, nilai rata-rata siswa hanya 58.57 dan kategorinya buruk. Dengan melakukan semua langkah-langkah dalam penelitian tindakan kelas, proses belajar mengajar dievaluasi dan dimodifikasi, termasuk menambahkan petunjuk bagi siswa selama bermain. Kemudian di siklus kedua, nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat menjadi 72 dan kategorinya baik. Ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan dalam penguasaan kosa kata Bahasa Inggris oleh siswa setelah menerapkan Permainan Huruf Bercampur selama aktifitas belajar mengajar. Abstract

Abstract This thesis entitled, "The Influence of Family Against Student Motivation in Economy Class XI Lesson in SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Pontianak". Variables in this study consist of independent variable (X), namely Family Environment and dependent variable (Y), that is Learning Motivation. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive method with the form of research. Population in this research is all student of class XI Ips Sma Muhammadiyah 2 Pontianak. Where the sample in this research is the students of class XI Ips I Sma Muhammadiyah 2 Pontianak produced by cluster random sampling technique. The results showed that the family environment has an influence on the motivation of students in the class XI Sma Muhammadiyah 2 Pontianak with the formulation Y = 5.676 + 0.657X. Based on the calculation using SPSS program, t counters 4.506, while t table with respondents 37 students who have degrees of freedom df = n - k or 37-2 = 35, then t table is 2.030, from the results, compare between t arithmetic with t table. Resulted t count> t table (4.506> 2.030) and with magnitude of ixuhan 0,606 which means positive influence. Abstract

AbstractThe background of this research was Donna Lee Charlie Parker's work has the characteristics of a very fast tempo. The choice of tone on Alto Saxophone played by Parker is very unique, there is also a section of Alto Saxophone solo that Parker plays. Donna Lee's song by Charlie Parker is often associated with the Jazz Bebop genre. Therefore, the melody of Donna Lee's song on Alto Saxophone is very interesting to be analyzed further. In addition, there are many Jazz events in Indonesia has not been matched by comprehensive Jazz studies. On the other hand, the realm of Bebop is still limited to be studied and revealed musical facts.Based on those background, this research problem were "How was Charlie Parker's Donna Lee melody structure on Alto Saxophone instrument ?, How was the harmony used in Charlie Parker's Donna Lee song on the Alto saxophone instrument? And how is the interrelation between Donna Lee's song with Bebop's jazz genre? ". The results of this research: (1) Donna Lee song has a duration of approximately 2 minutes 32 seconds. Donna Lee's song has two part song. (2) the chord progression contained in part I (band) of sentence A as progressi V-I and ii-V-I. (3) Donna Lee's song was a Jazz Bebop genre. Abstract

AbstractSpeech is a process for someone to deliver message with specific intent and purpose to the interlocutor. Speech and its events are interrelated; both of events those exist in one process, known as the process of communication. Sambas Malay Folklore Collection was the data that provided in this study. Based on the data analysis, the results of this study as follows: (1) acting speech acts illocution as an assertive, directive, expressive, commissive, and declaration. (2) the meaning contained in every act of speech of illusion of assertive, directive, expressive, commissive, and declaration form and (3) lesson plan implementation. The result of analysis of Sambas Malay Folklore concluded, there were twenty-seven assertion of acute illusory acts, thirty data of the directive speech act, six data of not expressive, six data of the commissive speech acts, one data of the act of speech declaration and seventy acts of assertive illusion, directive, expressive, commissive, and declarative of meaning in every form of speech, and its lesson plan implementation of Sambas Malay Folklore as the learning material in the curriculum of 2013.Keywords: Discourse of Illocution, Meaning, Malay Sambas Folklore.

Abstract

AbstractThis research is motivated to explore the function and development of Jepin Melayu Sayan dance it is based on the growing era, Jepin Melayu Sayan dance is increasingly rarely displayed. Whereas a traditional dance has a role in the life of the community and a characteristic of a society, especially the Malay tribe.Based on the data analysis, it is concluded that Jepin Melayu Sayan dance has a social function at harvest event which is displayed as a form of gratitude to Allah Swt for the harvested product. Function of entertainment for some residents who help the wedding preparation and entertainment for invited guests at weddings. The music used Gong, Ketawa’ and Gambus as music instrument and Syair Dialek Melayu Melawi song. The make up and the costum used was malay custom with natural make up. The show place used can be at proscenium and arena stage. The result research can be used to be a teaching material in art and culture on 10th grader. Abstract

Abstrak: This study aimed to determine the effectiviness of Experiment Method to remediate misconceptions in fluid statics at MAN 2 Filial Pontianak. The method used is Pre Experimental Design with One Group pretest post test design. Data taken from the students of class XI IPA selected intact group. The sample was 30 students. Data collection tool in the form of 18 multiple choice questions with three alternative answers and the reasons open. Based on the analysis of data obtained The average percentage decrease in number of students who have misconceptions of 43.7%. Based on McNemar test calculations obtained an average χ2Compute () ˃χ2Table (3.84) for db = 1 and α = 5%, then the overall conception significant changes after remediated using  experiment method. DQM effectiveness calculations obtained 71,71% (high category), the remediation using experiment method effective in addressing misconceptions learners. Keywords: Misconception, Remediation,  Experiment Method, Fluid Statics.

Abstract

Abstrak:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan media komik elektronik sebagai media pembelajaran pada submateri zat aditif di kelas VIII SMP. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan bentuk penelitian survei. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi. Penilaian kelayakan media komik elektronik dinilai melalui uji validitas oleh 10 orang validator yang terdiri dari 5 orang validator ahli media dan 5 orang validator ahli materi. Uji validitas ahli media meliputi aspek kejelasan, keterpaduan, penekanan, interaktifitas, keseimbangan, bentuk dan warna sedangkan uji validitas ahli materi meliputi aspek format, isi, dan bahasa. Hasil analisis validasi media komik elektronik dinyatakan layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran pada submateri zat aditif dengan nilai 0,99. Kata kunci: Media,Komik Elektronik, Submateri Zat Aditif Abstract:This study aimed to determine the feasibility of electronics comics as learning media in additive submaterial. The method used in this study was descriptive survey form. The instrument used in this study was validation sheet. The feasibility of electronics comics media was measured through test validity by 10 validators consist of 5 media expert validators and 5 material expert validators. Test the validity of media experts covering aspects of clarity, coherence, emphasis, interactivity, balance, shape and color while the validity of the test material experts covering aspects of the format, content, and language.The analysis of electronics comics media validation declaredeligible to be used as a mediain submaterial additive with score 0,99 Keywords: Media, Electronics Comics, Submaterial Additive

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to describe the improvement of narrative writing skills with the approach of the process of class V students of Muhammadiyah Primary 3 Pontianak City. This research uses descriptive method with form of action research class (PTK) and is collaborative. This research was conducted for three cycles with each cycle one time meeting. The results of the study design study (RPP) of the cycle I average score 3.85, cycle II average score 3.94, and cycle III average score 3.98. The results of research implementation of the learning cycle I score average of 2.68, cycle II average score 3.96 and cycle III average score 3.98. The result of the research write narrative essay from cycle I mean value 61,62, second cycles II value 73,62 and cycle III with average value 79,96. Total mastery reach 90% or 18 people with 75 increase from cycle I which only 15%. From the data obtained can be concluded that the application of process approach can improve the writing skills of student narrative. Thus, research using a process approach to learning writing writing can involve students more active, enthusiastic and more effective. Keywords: Process Approach, Improve, Writing Narrative Essay

Abstract

Abstract Mathematics is a form of culture having been integrated in all aspects of daily life. This study aimed :1) To describe the form of mathematics applied by the community ethnic Madura in Pontianak Utara, 2) To review and describe the use of math trade deal  conducted by vegetable seller ethnic Madura in market Puring Siantan. Descriptive method was used in this study. Some speakers researched 12 vegetable trader ethnic madura. Data collection used a technique direct communication in the form of interview to the source of information. The data used was observation and interview. The result showed that: 1. The transaction conducted by vegetable seller ethnic madura consisting of acquisition, merchandise the determination of the selling price, and rounding off; 2. A sum done by summing scores for the thousands of zeros; The reduction of activity happened to the consumer spending money , conducted using system counting up; multiplication done by multiplying the number of spending with the thousands and using multiplication gradually which then result of each phase totaled; The division of being done by means of dividing between the highest rate and also carried out the gradually.  Keywords: Ethnic Madura, Etnomatematika, Trading Activity, Vegetable Seller

Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to find out teacher's role in overcoming students undiscipline behavior by directing, guiding, supervising, and leading in class VIII A of Kemala Bhayangkari Middle School. The research approach used was a qualitative approach with descriptive method. Data collection techniques that were used are observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The analysis in this study was presented in a qualitative descriptive manner using 8 informants, consisting of social study teacher, information technology communication's teacher, guidance counseling's teacher, and five students who behave undiscipline in class VIII A. The result of this research indicates that the teachers have played a role in overcoming the undisciplined behavior of students in class VIII A. The role of directing is when the teacher make students accustomed to dress well and pray before or after learning. A teacher also plays a role in guiding students through providing the guidance for students who behave an undisciplined behavior. Then, the teacher also plays a role in supervising which is when a teacher controls students and provides reprimands or sanctions for students who behave in undisciplined ways. The final role of the teacher is that the teacher has a role in leading which is the teacher is a good role model for students. Keywords: Teacher's Role, Undisciplined Behavior, Junior High School Students
