Abstract

The importance of inculcating character values to children, especially in elementary schools, can have an impact on the development of the character that is in them. This character learning can be done in various ways, one of which is through story books. Currently, there are many story books in circulation, one of which is the storybook of Suku Penunggang Layang-layang by Tere Liye. This book contains many character values that can be used as a source of character learning in children. This study uses a qualitative approach with content analysis methods with data analysis techniques from Miles and Huberman. The results of the analysis that have been carried out show that in the story book of Suku Penunggang Layang-layang there are 11 character values out of 18 character values according to the Ministry of Education and Culture, namely; 1) hard work as much as 4 pieces of the story. 2) discipline as much as 4 fragments of the story, 3) independent as much as 2 fragments of the story, 4) honest as much as 6 fragments of the story, 5) social care as much as 12 fragments of the story, 6) responsibility as much as 3 fragments of the story, 7) curiosity as much as 6, 8) confident as many as 9 story fragments, 9) appreciating achievements as many as 11 story fragments, 10) helping as many as 6 story fragments, and 11) national spirit as much as 3 story fragments. Furthermore, the results of the analysis of character values in this book can be used as an alternative media of learning in elementary schools, in the form of zigzag book.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya kebijakan pemerintah provinsi Banten yang ingin membenahi dan merlakukan penertiban Kawasan Banten lama Sebagai ikon Budaya dan Sejarah Banten, Kawasan Banten Lama sudah lama dijadikan sumber pembelajaran bagi para siswa dan mahasiswa yang ingin melihat sisa-sisa peninggalan masa lalu Banten, dengan berkunjung ke Kawasan banten Lama membuat pembelajaran lebihbermakna. Akibatnya tidak menghasilkan anak SD didik yang memiliki kesadaran sejarah yang baik. Hal ini disebabkan oleh rendahnya pemahaman siswa terhadap pentingnya situs sejarah, di samping itu guru perlu memberikan pengarahan dan motivasi kepada para siswa untuk berkunjung ke situs Banten Lama, akan tetapi belum di dapatkan contoh-contoh pembelajaran yang menarik melalui media yang disenangi anak. Untuk itulah maka peneliti mencoba untuk menggunakan lingkungan sosial budaya siswa dalam hal ini kawasan Banten Lama sebagai Sumber pembelajaran di SD sehingga diharapkan anak akan mengikuti dan mengindentifikasi dirinya sesuai dengan cerita yang ada dalam pembelajaran tersebut. Lokasi penelitian yang dijadikan subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah Kawasan Banten Lama yang terletak di Kota Serang. Metode penelitiannya dengan menggunakan Penelitian Studi Kasus dengan melakukan serangkaian observasi, wawancara sejak mulai dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi dan penyusunan laporan. Sedangkan analisis datanya dilakukan dengan cara triangulasi, member check, audit trial dan expert opinion untuk selanjutnya data yang telah dianalisis ditarik kesimpulan.

Abstract

Peran aktif orangtua dalam pendidikan anak memberikan dampak yang positif bagi anak, meliputi peningkatan prestasi anak, penurunan jumlah absen anak, perkembangan emosi dan komunikasi yang lebih baik, serta berkembangnya kemampuan beradaptasi anak menjadi lebih baik. Namun, di beberapa taman kanak-kanak Kota Serang, keterlibatan orangtua dalam pendidikan anak di sekolah masih sangat minim dikarenakan oleh berbagai faktor, salah satunya yakni miskomunikasi yang disebabkan oleh asumsi bahwa “guru adalah orangtua anak di sekolah”. Dikarenakan asumsi tersebut, banyak orangtua dan juga guru yang merasa bahwa pendidikan anak di sekolah adalah sepenuhnya tanggung jawab guru dan orangtua pun menjadi enggan ikut campur. Untuk meluruskan miskomunikasi tersebut guru perlu memiliki keterampilan komunikasi interpersonal yang baik agar dapat melakukan komunikasi secara efektif dengan orangtua, sehingga pesan terkait pentingnya kemampuan komunikasi dapat sampai pada dan dipahami oleh seluruh orangtua siswa. Luaran utama yang diharapkan dari program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah terlaksananya kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang berbasis kepakaran bidang ilmu pendidikan, selain itu kegiatan ini juga diharapkan dapat menghasilkan : (1) Rumusan program lokakarya peningkatan komunikasi Guru SD Labschool; (2) Panduan pelaksanaan program lokakarya peningkatan komunikasi Guru SD Labschool UPI Serang; serta (3) Publikasi tulisan ilmiah terkait, berupa artikel atau paper di proceeding konferensi pada tingkatan nasional.

Abstract

Today's rapid growth in technology and communication has affected the Indonesian education aspect. An educator is expected to be able to use the technological advances, especially in the learning process in class. One is to use an instructional tool or video-based learning medium on a gadget. The study studied geographya games. As one of the digital age teaching media for the need for elementary school children in order to better understand geography. The study USES qualitative methods with a descriptive approach to library studies. The study showed a result that geograpiea games were able to help students better understand the learning of the region in Indonesia.

Abstract

With technology from age to age increasingly sophisticated in the needs of all of us. Technological progress is accelerating, and with digital literacy through interpainful media it is easier for students to achieve excellence and educational goals. Education in the 21st era, students are more likely to close or adapt to learning through the media because it portrays material through digital literacy with interactive media to achieve the purpose of learning. The methods used in this study use the analysis of content from various journals by describing them. With this study, researchers have excavated digital literations regarding interactive media for elementary school children. The study also brought positive values with informative, inspiring and useful value. As a result of this study, it presents interactive media as text, animation, or comics, existing media from youtube, powerpoint given by teachers or getting information from the Internet, kahoot, edmodo, Google classroom, Google meet, quiziz, e-book or something else and can be used as a digital literacy for students or readers to understand.

Abstract

This study uses a qualitative research approach with a descriptive type. The purpose of this study was to prove the effect of picture media on poetry writing skills in class V. In addition, the purpose of this study was to prove that pictures can be a medium for learning to write poetry. This research also proves that by using image media for poetry writing skills, children's learning outcomes increase. Data collection techniques in this study also used document study techniques using data from previous research journals related to the title. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that this picture media succeeded in making children interested and motivated to develop their writing skills, including writing poetry. Media images also affect children's learning outcomes can make passive children become active. This writing skill must always be trained so that children can write fluently and proficiently with or without media.

Abstract

This study aims to develop learning media for the game of snakes and ladders in social science learning (IPS) in elementary schools to increase learning motivation and student learning outcomes. One of the problems of education is the lack of facilities and infrastructure, so teachers are required to be creative in improving the quality of learning in the classroom, such as developing learning media. One of the learning media that is interesting and overcomes student boredom in learning activities is game-based learning activities, such as the application of the snake and ladder game learning media. This study develops a snake and ladder game learning media in social science learning (IPS) in elementary schools. This research is qualitative and the method used is descriptive method. This media is directed so that learning objectives can be achieved efficiently and effectively in a happy atmosphere even though discussing difficult or heavy things.

Abstract

Utilization of literacy reading resources is one of the efforts that can be made by teachers to improve students' literacy skills. However, in the school where this research was conducted, the authors did not find any reading literacy activities carried out during distance learning. Teachers only rely on textbooks. Therefore, the author tries to implement the activity of reading digital story books which is one of the efforts to foster a student's passion for reading, of course, being part of efforts to improve literacy skills. The digital storybooks used are sourced from the website Badan Pengembangan dan Pembinaan Bahasa Kementerian Pendidikan Indonesia. This digital storybook is packaged in an interesting, diverse, and contains cultural and character values. In this study, the author wanted to know the students' responses to the digital storybook. The result turned out that students were happy with the digital storybooks that were presented, even the activity of reading these digital storybooks became a new habit that students always asked for. In conclusion, the use of digital storybooks sourced from the website Badan Pengembangan dan Pembinaan Bahasa Kementerian Pendidikan Indonesia has the potential to support literacy activities carried out before starting distance learning at Harapan Kasih Elementary School because it can attract students' attention.

Abstract

The blended learning method is basically a combination of the advantages of faceto-face and virtual learning. The blended learning method is a simple learning method that combines various delivery methods, teaching models and learning styles. Blended learning can give students the flexibility to freely choose when and where to access teaching materials. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness and influence of blended learning methods in the future. The method used is a systematic review of the literature. The results of the compilation of several articles on blended learning at the education level, the researchers reduced the articles so that the literature review was in accordance with the topics contained in this article. Based on the research results obtained, to increase student effectiveness there are several supporting elements such as face-to-face, independent learning, online media, tutorial materials, collaboration, smooth internet connection, capable devices, and evaluating learning. With some of these elements can create effectiveness in blended learning learning methods.

Abstract

In order to organize learning during the adaptation period for new habits (new normal), due to the COVID-19 outbreak, various suitable strategies are needed by remaining guided by active, creative, and fun learning. Therefore, this study aims to determine the readiness of elementary school educators in conducting limited face-to-face learning (PTM) in the new academic year 2021/2022. A total of eight teachers have been interviewed regarding this Limited PTM. The results show that teachers are ready to welcome limited PTM which will begin in the new academic year 2021/2022. This readiness is inseparable from the Tangerang Regent's Instruction Number 17 of 2021 concerning the implementation of restrictions on community activities at level 1 Corona Virus Disease 2019 in Tengerang Regency, in addition to the availability of facilities and infrastructure that are adapted according to health protocols and also the readiness of teacher competencies in preparing various media, strategies, activities and games to facilitate learning both synchronously and asynchronously.
