This article digs into the special issues of English-Indonesia translation, concentrating on the complex world of idiomatic phrases. Idioms, which are firmly ingrained in cultural nuances and linguistic complexity, provide a substantial challenge for automatic translation systems. The aims of this study is to examine morphological faults in translated texts using English idiom phrases translated by the Google Translate translation system. A qualitative research design with content analysis is used in this study. Discourse analysis is used in this study, and the research subjects are documents that were gathered from websites by researchers. The study employed document analysis as a means of data collecting by the researcher. By comparing the data to earlier studies on translation and morphology and examining mistakes in grasping idiomatic meaning, the researchers examined the data.  According to the findings of the study, there are three translation methods. Based on the morphology of the translation machine, there are eight GT translation errors. The study's findings give Google Translate valuable insight into the need for idiom translations to include additional morphological explanations in order to increase precision and to be revisited within the framework of morphological science.Keyword : Google Translate, English – Indonesian Translation,  Morphology, English Idiom

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the types of gender inequality that occur in the Enola Holmesmovie and describe the woman's struggle against gender inequality by referring to Walby's(1991) and Lakoff’s (2013) theories to explain the representation of women language usedby female characters in the Enola Holmes 2 movie. This study uses a descriptive qualitativeresearch method with data obtained from the film Enola Holmes 2. The result of this studyindicate that there are 24 utterances featuring gender inequality categories by femalecharacters. The findings are that there are five gender inequality categories, namelyviolence and culture (33,33%), the state, household production (12,5%) and paid work(8,34%). The reasons why women struggle against the five categories of gender inequalityare because they want gender equality in all scopes, especially the scope of work, to beequal for everyone. The dominant types of women's language used in the Enola Holmes 2movie are rising intonation on declarative, intensifiers, and emphatic stress to emphasizethe utterance's meaning, and super-polite forms to show respect and politeness and revealthe social class of the women. Keywords: Gender Inequality, Woman Language, Enola Holmes Movie

Abstract

This study explores the language learning dynamics within a bilingual family in Malaysia, focusing on parental strategies and their influence on language acquisition in Bahasa and Malay. Employing a qualitative case study design, participants were purposively sampled from the researcher's friend's family. Meticulous observation activities assessed various aspects of the family's language environment, including parental language use, exposure to authentic materials, and correcting linguistic errors. Creswell's framework guided data analysis, thoroughly examining observational data to derive meaningful insights. Trustworthiness was established through prolonged engagement, triangulation, member checking, and peer debriefing. The findings revealed proactive parental approaches, such as creating daily communication contexts, utilizing diverse activities, and providing corrective feedback, which fostered a supportive language learning environment for the children. Overall, these efforts facilitated bilingualism and language proficiency in both Bahasa and Malay, highlighting the pivotal role of parental involvement. This study contributes empirical evidence of effective parental strategies in bilingual language development, enriching our understanding of SLA theories and bilingual language acquisition within familial contexts.
