Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of using the Indonesian language in academic presentations on the understanding of materials at Buana Perjuangan University. In the context of higher education, effective use of the language of instruction is crucial to ensure optimal understanding of the conveyed material. This research employs a quantitative method with a survey design. The research sample consists of 30 randomly selected students from various study programs. Data were collected through a questionnaire measuring students' level of understanding of materials presented in Indonesian compared to foreign languages such as English. According to the questionnaire results, 42% mentioned that the influence of using Indonesian in presentations enhances understanding of the materials, and 45% stated that it significantly enhances understanding when presentations are conducted in Indonesian.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the ability to use capital letters of grade 4 students at SD 1 Megawon by using learning videos. This research uses descriptive quantitative methods with data collection techniques using tests. The population in this study were students at SD 1 Megawon while the sample in this study were 4th grade students of SD Megawon, consisting of 17 students, The data collection technique was using a test instrument. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that the average score of students' capitalization skills was 7.29 with a range of 4. Normality test shows that the data is normally distributed. The frequency distribution analysis per indicator showed that the indicators that were answered correctly the most by students were the beginning of sentences and names of people, while the indicators that were still difficult for students to master were the names of months and ethnic groups. Descriptive statistical analysis of exploration showed that the ability of female students was superior compared to male students in writing names of people, geographical names, and names of months.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of Indonesian as the national language in various aspects of life in Indonesia. Using qualitative descriptive methods, data was collected through semi-structured interviews and observations, and analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. Normality tests with Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Shapiro-Wilk showed that the data were normally distributed, while Levene's test confirmed the homogeneity of variance between data groups. The research results show that Indonesian plays an important role in the field of education as the main language of instruction, facilitating government and administration as an official language, and supporting economic growth through facilitating business transactions and promoting local products. In a socio-cultural context, Indonesian is a medium of artistic expression and an important tool in intercultural dialogue, strengthening the nation's cultural identity. This research emphasizes the important role of Indonesian in uniting the nation, facilitating communication, supporting education and government, and strengthening national identity. Continuous efforts are needed to maintain and develop the use of Indonesian so that it continues to play a vital role in the development and unification of the nation.

Abstract

The use of Indonesian in higher education has a very important role in maintaining national identity and promoting a deeper understanding of local culture. In an academic context, Indonesian is not only a communication tool, but also a teaching and research medium that can improve the quality of education. The use of this national language helps strengthen a sense of togetherness among students from various regions, reduces communication barriers, and facilitates effective knowledge transfer. Apart from that, good command of Indonesian among students and lecturers can support the government's efforts to preserve and develop the national language. This research highlights various aspects that show the importance of using Indonesian in higher education, including its impact on students' intellectual development, social integration, and cultural preservation.

Abstract

The research entitled "Comparative Analysis of Framing Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki on Covid-19 Pandemic News in the Online Media Kumparan.com and Beritasatu.com and Recommendations as a RPP for Junior High School News Texts" aims to find out how online media is framed (in network) kumparan.com and Beritasatu.com in the case of disaster reporting due to the Covid-19 pandemic and to find out the results of Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki's framing analysis of the Covid-19 pandemic that hit Indonesia and the results of the analysis are used as alternative news teaching material in junior high schools. To achieve this goal, researchers studied four framing structures, namely syntactic, script, thematic and rhetorical structures, where these four structures are part of the Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki framing model. There is also an approach and method used in this research, namely a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. From the results of this research, it can be seen that kumparan.com and Beritasatu.com frame it completely, accurately and in accordance with data obtained from reliable sources. In the framing process, kumparan.com and Beritasatu.com do not take sides or support any party. However, if you look at the headlines regarding news in each region in Indonesia, kumparan.com and Beritasatu.com mostly use news titles that focus on government officials or community figures. Then, the results of Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki's framing analysis of the news of the Covid-19 pandemic disaster are also suitable as alternative learning material. In the news text learning materials and research results, researchers can conclude that kumparan.com and Beritasatu.com present news according to facts, even though there are parties that are highlighted, they do not bring down other parties. while maintaining consistent use of language according to linguistic rules in reporting.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the language of editorial texts contained in the editorial column of the December 2023 edition of the Radar Karawang newspaper . The results of the research are recommended as teaching material for editorial texts for class XII high school. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The research subject is the editorial column of the Radar Karawang newspaper, while the research object is the language of the editorial text. Data collection in this research used document techniques. Data analysis techniques through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this research found that the language of editorial texts includes rhetorical sentences; popular words; demonstrative pronouns that, this, that ; causality conjunctions because, because, therefore, blessing, effect; and the opposing conjunctions but, however, whereas, otherwise . The results of this research are recommended as handout teaching materials according to the 2013 Curriculum with Basic Competition 3.6 analyzing the structure and language of editorial texts for class XII high school. These teaching materials can be used as additional reference material for editorial texts for teachers and students.

Abstract

Economic downturns are considered to be one of the bad influences that impact human life. The main impact of the economic downturn is increasing poverty, unemployment and ignorance. The struggle against adversity is seen as something terrible. The reason is, the struggle you go through will always be haunted by failure. One depiction of struggle can be seen in literary works in the form of novels. The aim of this research is to explore the values ​​of life's struggle in the main character in the novel Dompet Ayah Shoes Ibu by J.S Khairen. The type of research used is qualitative with the research object focused on the values ​​of life's struggle in the novel Dompet Ayah Shoes Ibu by J.S Khairen. This research uses a literary sociology approach. This approach is closely related to the value of life's struggle. The data in this research was collected through reading and note-taking procedures which were presented in the form of quotations, dialogues, monologues and sentences that highlight various aspects of life's struggle values. Source triangulation was used in this research to ensure the validity of the data. The author analyzes research data through several stages, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and verification or drawing conclusions. The results of this research show that there are values ​​of life struggle in the novel Dompet Ayah Shoes Ibu by J.S Khairen, which include the value of being willing to sacrifice, the value of unity, the value of respect, the value of patience, and the value of the spirit of never giving up.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the use of equivalent compound sentences and multilevel compound sentences and describe the semantic relationship between clauses of equivalent compound sentences and multilevel compound sentences in news published by Tanjungpinang Pos. The object of this research is news published by Tanjungpinang Pos. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a qualitative descriptive research type. The data collection technique used is the document technique. The data analysis technique was carried out using content analysis techniques. The results of this research are based on data on the use of equivalent compound sentences and multilevel compound sentences in news published by Tanjungpinang Pos, 16 data were found, namely 8 data of equivalent compound sentences and 8 data of multilevel compound sentences. These 8 data of equivalent compound sentences are divided into 1 data which is included in the semantic relationship between clauses seen from the meaning of the clauses being connected, 7 data which is included in the semantic relationship between clauses of a compound sentence which is equivalent to an addition relationship, while the semantic relationship between clauses of a compound sentence is 8 data levels. These 8 data are divided into 4 data which are included in the semantic relationship between clauses of multi-level compound sentences, causal relationships, 3 data which are included in the semantic relationships between clauses of multi-level compound sentences, which are goal relationships, and 1 data which is included in the semantic relationships between clauses of multi-level compound sentences, which are results relationships.

Abstract

This research discusses the code mixing found in speech between sellers and buyers of otak-otak in Sungai Enam Laut, East Bintan District, Bintan Regency. The aim of this research is to describe forms of code mixing in speech between sellers and buyers of Otak-Otak Sungai Enam Laut, East Bintan District, Bintan Regency. The method used is qualitative descriptive qualitative. The data in this research are in the form of code mixing. The data collection technique used to obtain research data is the observation method technique. This observation technique is supported by using documentation techniques, listening techniques, note-taking techniques and recording techniques. The results of this research are that there are forms of code mixing in the form of 1) word insertion, 2) phrase insertion, 3) word repetition insertion, and 4) clause insertion.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the application of the problem based learning model in learning to write response texts for class IX of SMP Negeri 6 Semarang. The method used is qualitative description, using data sources in the form of interviews, observations, and documentation. Qualitative research was chosen because it was able to carry out an intensive approach between resource persons and researchers in the field directly. The results of this study are that the factors of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in response texts are contextual learning, implementation of the Merdeka curriculum, implementation of the Cultural Responsibility Teacher (CRT). The steps in learning response texts in the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model are making Student Worksheets (LKPD), implementing work groups, presenting group work results. Meanwhile, the benefits of learning response texts with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model are that students in class IX of SMP Negeri 6 Semarang are able to think critically and students in class IX of SMP Negeri 6 Semarang are able to apply creativity values ​​in working on response texts based on the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model.
