Abstract

This study analyzes the characteristics and interests of the community in using rural transportation in Purworejo Regency, with a focus on rural transportation. The background of this research is a significant decrease in the number of fleets and passengers in recent years. This decline in interest is caused by several factors including tariff uncertainty, low load factor, increased private vehicle ownership and the emergence of new modes of transportation such as Transjateng BRT. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the factors that affect people's interest in using rural transportation and recommend efforts to increase this interest. This study uses a quantitative approach with primary data collected through questionnaires from 400 respondents. The variables studied include accessibility, safety, tariffs, and service quality The data analysis method used is (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) with SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results of the analysis show that several findings of the Inter-Variable Relationship, namely Accessibility, safety, and tariffs, are proven to have a positive and significant effect on service quality. Accessibility, safety, fares, and service quality directly have a positive and significant effect on public interest in using public transportation. Based on these findings, it is recommended to improve accessibility, safety, reasonable rates, and consistent service quality as the main keys to increase public interest, especially students/students in using rural public transportation. The suggested strategies include schedule adjustments, special fare subsidies for students, integration with the Trans Jateng BRT, as well as periodic monitoring and evaluation involving user participation.

Abstract

In the context of periodic motor vehicle testing, this study investigated the relationship between service quality and officer work discipline on public awareness and compliance. This study is based on the fact that the level of public compliance is still low and there is a difference between operational practices and operational standards at the Motor Vehicle Testing Management Unit (UPPKB) Ujung Menteng, DKI Jakarta. This study uses a quantitative and survey approach. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Partial Least Squares (PLS)-based variants was used to analyze data collected from questionnaires given to 170 service users. The results showed that service quality and work discipline significantly affected public awareness, but neither directly affected compliance. There is evidence that public awareness is a fully mediating factor, or full mediation, that significantly influences compliance and is an indirect pathway to work discipline and quality of service. These results show that service strategies should focus on improving technical procedures and education to raise awareness as the key to improving sustainable compliance

Abstract

Previous studies on ethanol fuel blends have mainly focused on corrosion rate using weight loss methods, simplified specimens, and limited fuel variations. However, visual characteristics under real fuel tank conditions remains less explored.  To address this gap, this study examines the effect of ethanol concentration in pertamax fuel on the corrosion rate and visual characteristics of motorcycle fuel tank materials. Specimens from a 155 cc automatic motorcycle fuel tank were immersed in ethanol–pertamax blends with ethanol concentrations of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 25%, and 85% for 12 weeks. A combined approach using the weight loss method and ImageJ based image processing was applied to obtain a more comprehensive evaluation of corrosion rate and visual characteristics. The results show that the highest corrosion rate occurred at PXE 25 with 0.057 mm/y, while the lowest was observed at PXE 0 with 0.007 mm/y. At PXE 85, the corrosion rate decreased to 0.038 mm/y, indicating a shift in corrosion behavior at higher ethanol concentrations. Image analysis confirmed that the largest corrosion area also occurred at PXE 25. These findings indicate that ethanol concentration affects corrosion characteristics, with different corrosion responses observed at higher ethanol blends, highlighting key implications for material selection, fuel system design, and ethanol fuel policy evaluation in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of supply chain knowledge capability, information sharing capability, and supply chain collaboration capability on supply chain performance and competitiveness at the Indomaret Fresh Bekasi Branch. The research is grounded in the Resource-Based View (RBV) and applies the VRIO framework to evaluate whether these capabilities constitute sources of competitive advantage. A quantitative research design was employed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 102 employees across 14 Indomaret Fresh outlets in Bekasi. The results demonstrate that supply chain knowledge capability and supply chain collaboration capability have a significant positive effect on supply chain performance. Collaboration capability also shows a direct and significant effect on supply chain competitiveness, while supply chain knowledge influences competitiveness indirectly through supply chain performance. In contrast, information sharing capability does not have a significant direct effect on either supply chain performance or competitiveness, although it remains operationally important for coordination and efficiency. Supply chain performance plays a crucial mediating role by strengthening the relationship between supply chain capabilities, particularly knowledge and collaboration, and supply chain competitiveness. The VRIO analysis reveals that supply chain collaboration fulfills all criteria of valuable, rare, inimitable, and well-organized resources, making it a sustainable source of competitive advantage. Supply chain knowledge is valuable and well-organized but not rare, resulting in a temporary competitive advantage. Information sharing, while necessary for operational effectiveness, does not meet VRIO criteria as a strategic resource. This study contributes to the literature by integrating RBV, VRIO, and SEM-PLS in the context of fresh product retail supply chains. Practically, the findings emphasize the importance of strengthening collaborative practices and optimizing supply chain performance to enhance competitiveness in highly competitive urban retail markets.
