Abstract

This study aimed at investigating the impact of social media towards students’ motivation and students’ attitude of learning English in Sumbawa University of technology. The study was descriptive quantitative. Participants of this study consisted of 120 students of management department, while the instrument used was questionnaire using likert-scale. A quantitative approach was utilized for data collection, while a descriptive analysis method was used to analyze the study. The results of the study showed that social media impact students’ motivation of learning English positively, and students also showed positive attitudes on the use of social media in language learning. It can be concluded that social media might has vital role in language learning beholding to the findings of the study, therefore it is important to encourage students to use social media platforms in language learning. Further study are suggested to investigate specifically on which social media platforms are best to be used in language learning and to see whether or not the study program has any influence on students’ perceptions of using social media in language learning as this study was conducted only in one study program.

Abstract

This study discusses the role of religiosity and religious studies in contributing to the development of students' emotional intelligence. Religiosity and religious studies have long been important aspects of individual and societal life, and this study aims to understand its impact on students' emotional development. Through religious studies, students can develop a better emotional awareness of their own feelings and emotions, as well as recognize how those emotions affect behavior and interactions with others. The values of empathy, compassion, and responsibility instilled by religious practice also help students develop the ability to feel the feelings and perspectives of others, which are key aspects of emotional intelligence. In addition, religious practices provide guidance on how to cope with negative emotions and manage stress, thus helping students deal with challenges in a healthier and positive way. Religious studies also provide a deeper purpose in life and a sense of inspiration for students to achieve their goals, helping them stay energized in the face of obstacles, and seek deeper meaning in life. However, the positive effects of religiosity and religious studies on emotional intelligence can vary between individuals and depend on the application of religious values in daily life. Therefore, a holistic and inclusive approach in respecting the diversity of religious beliefs and religious practices is essential in recognizing the benefits of the role of religiosity and religious studies in shaping students who are more empathetic, balanced, and contribute positively to society.

Abstract

The study is intended to see how education finance is regulated at MAS Ar-Risalah Krueng Sabee Aceh Jaya. This study is a case study. Information is obtained through observation, interviews, and information storage. Furthermore, so that the data can be trusted, several stages are carried out, namely the data source triangulation technique. The data analysis technique uses four stages, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that: (1) The implementation of education financing management includes the process of planning, using funds, monitoring and accountability. (2) Private Madrasahs cannot only depend on sources of funds from the government in fulfilling education funding. (3) Overall, the implementation of education financing management has been well implemented. The limitations in managing education financing at MAS Ar-Risalah Krueng Sabee Aceh Jaya include: (a) The management structure in financing management is still under the auspices of the foundation's management, school principals and treasurers so that there is no adequate supervision and accountability for financing management; (b) Contributions for educational development are determined collectively and adapted to the needs of students.

Abstract

Technological developments are currently getting faster, where everyone uses technology including in the world of education, such as assignments using applications or platforms. Most of the applications and platforms use English. So this research is a solution for students who have difficulty mastering English vocabulary. The purpose of this study is to describe the use of audio-visual media in the form of music and to describe students' mastery of English vocabulary after learning to use audio-visual media in the form of music. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive research method. The object used is the fifth grade students of Tri Guna Bhakti Elementary School. The data collection technique used by the author is observation and a written test as a measure of the results of increasing the students' vocabulary. The results on students' English vocabulary mastery were seen from the results of the written test after using audio-visual in the form of music, where the results of the students' written tests in grade V showed quite well with results in general including above average, where there were 21 students with an average of 75.2, which at first when doing questions and answers students could not answer, now many students get good grades, there are even 2 students who get a score of 100. So in general the conclusion shows that audio-visual media is good for increasing vocabulary, fifth grade students at SD Tri Guna Bhakti Surabaya.

Abstract

This research is intended to investigate the effect of Estafet Writing Technique on writing Recount Text at XI Grade Students of SMA IT Dhiaul Fikri. The problems in writing Recount Text were: 1) The students have lack in vocabulary, 2) The students are difficult to start writing 3) The students are difficult to comprehend the tenses 4) the teacher does not have various techniques in teaching writing. The research formulations of the problem were: is there the effect of Estafet writing technique in improving students’ writing skill in recount text and to what extent is the effect of Estafet writing technique to students’ writing skill at SMA IT Dhiaul Fikri. The purpose of this research was to know the effect of Estafet writing technique in improving students’ writing skill and to know extent the effect of Estafet writing technique to students’ writing skill at SMA IT Dhiaul Fikri. This research uses an experimental quantitative method with pre-test and post-test design. The data were collected through pre-test and post-test in essay test form and analyzed by using t-test formula. The result of the research showed that the mean score of post-tests was 78.50 and mean score of pre-tests was 54.00. So, there was significant effect of using estafet writing technique toward students’ writing recount text at the 11th grade of SMA IT Dhiaul Fikri.

Abstract

One of the reasons why elementary school teachers don't use instructional media more often is the absence of infrastructure and equipment. The usage of learning media is one of the learning strategies that is crucial to the success of a learning process. This study sought to ascertain the impact of congklak media usage on Class III students' outcomes in mathematics learning at SDN Ngagelrejo V/400 Surabaya. Pre-experimental research design, quantitative methods, and a methodology are all used in this kind of study one grup pretest -posttest design. The sample of this research is 31 students taken by saturated sampling technique. Data analysis technique using paired sample t-test. The results of this study are that there is an influence of congklak media on students' mathematics learning outcomes. This is evidenced by the results of the t test that sig (2 tailed) is 0.000 t tabel = 2.04227 is obtained. So it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This means that there are differences in student learning outcomes before and after using congklak media on the mathematics learning outcomes to class III students at SDN Ngagelrejo V/400 Surabaya. The conclusion in this study is that there is an influence of congklak media on the mathematics learning outcomes to Grade III students at SDN Ngagelrejo V/400 Surabaya. Therefore, it is expected that teachers can use congklak media as a tool in conveying material, so that students can be interested participating in learning and student learning outcomes can increase.

Abstract

The importance of traditional knowledge about medicinal plants needs to be documented in the form of references through scientific research so that it is not lost by cultural modernization so that it can be preserved by the next generation. Written references about traditional knowledge of medicinal plants can be written in the form of books, one of which is popular scientific books. The purpose of this research is to develop a popular scientific book on medicinal plants in the city of Tidore Islands. The type of research used is research and development with the ADDIE development model consisting of 5 stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation. The research subjects consisted of 12 students in the 3rd semester of the Biology study program, 3 students in the 5th semester of the Biology study program, and 4 people from the community who represented the city of Tidore. The data collection technique uses a validation questionnaire for experts and small-scale trials. The results of the development of popular scientific books show that the average results of the validation and testing are in the appropriate category for use with good predicates in accordance with the table of eligibility criteria and product revisions.

Abstract

Online games can be interpreted as a program that displays visuals, animations and images that can move or be moved manually. Online games can be played with devices such as smartphones which can be played when a device is connected to an internet network. This study aims to determine the impact of using online games on students' interest in learning class VIII A at SMP Negeri Hu'u. This type of research is qualitative with a case study approach. The collection of data used in research observation, interviews and documentation. The participants used in the study included students who played online games, homeroom teachers, and parents of students who played online games. The results of the study showed that there was an influence on the impact of using online games on the learning interest of class VIIIA students of Junior High School. That students at SMP Negeri Hu'u usually play online games at school, they play in front of the classroom and in the school canteen and after school sometimes until the afternoon and continue into the evening. On average, students play online games Free Fire and Mobile Legend. Because of the preoccupation of playing online games, sometimes they will also forget to do their assignments and obligations, both helping their parents and doing their schoolwork, and students who are addicted to online games, they are also less enthusiastic about taking lessons after they play games because they are concerned about the game so that it reduces their interest in learning.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine: (1) The difference upgrades between the mathematical communication skills that students acquire learning through approach Contextual Teaching and learning and students receiving learning through conventional learning, (2) The interaction between learning approaches and early math skills of students (high, medium and low) to increase students' mathematical communication skills. This study is a semi-experimental study. The study population was a class X student of SMK Negeri 1 Bireuen, with two lines ANOVA analysis and t-test. The results showed that (1) There are differences in students' mathematical communication skills improvement among students who received learning approach CTL to increase students' mathematical communication skills, (2) There is no interaction between teaching approaches used and early math abilities of students to increase mathematical communication skills students. Based on the results and discussion of the research that has been described, it can be concluded that there are differences in improving students' mathematical communication skills between students who get the contextual teaching and learning/CTL learning approach and improving students' mathematical communication skills who get conventional learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve the quality of the process and learning outcomes of writing explanatory texts at SDN Nurul Jihat Pemepek Village using the inquiry method. The method used is quantitative research that leads to class action. The techniques used in this study through tests, observation and documentation. In this study, the application of the inquiry method can improve the ability to write explanatory texts using the inquiry method in class VI students at SDN Nurul Jihat Pemepek Village, Indonesia in the 2022/2023 academic year. Learning outcomes were marked by an increase in the number of students who reached the mastery limit in the ability to write process explanation texts, namely (a) in the first cycle of 60.39%, (b) in the second cycle the learning mastery results were obtained by 71.42%, and (c ) in cycle III the results of learning completeness were 79.75%.
