The quality of education is one of the indicators in determining the success in education, in improving the quality of education it is closely related to the surrounding environment which includes community participation. it is very important to understand what form of participation is appropriate for the community to support the creation of an increase in the quality of education, by using descriptive qualitative methods and with fact and data analysis techniques it is hoped that it will be able to analyze more in what form of participation is needed in improving the quality of education. The results obtained from this study are that community participation is needed both directly and indirectly, cooperation from the school is also important to socialize what forms of participation the community can provide to support the educational process, so collaboration, communication and relationships are needed. between the community and schools in creating participation in improving the quality of education.

This study aims to describe the pattern of teacher communication and parents to improve the quality of students’ learning at State Elementary School 1 in Pandanglang-Banten. This research uses qualitative method/case studies. In this study involves IIIA homeroom teacher, parents and students, as research participants. The data was obtained through interviews and observations. From the results show that the pattern of teacher and parent communication to improve the quality of learning of students, in IIIA class occurs between the parents and teachers in this school, with the existence of an organisai/association made by parents. One of the goals is to determine the learning activities and information about students at school. If there is no communication between the teacher and the parents at school, there will cause misconcept between teachers and parents, so that it can affect students. Therefore, the communication pattern at school is very necessary, to support what things happen to students, because success and learning quality of students is the result of cooperation between teachers and parents. Therefore, it takes a pattern of communication and parents.

Education in Indonesia requires special attention, because many educators who have plunged into the world of teaching but do not have certification. This will certainly have an impact on the quality of learning carried out, because educator certification itself aims to be able to improve the professionalism of an educator. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, where the instruments used are interviews and observations conducted at SDN Lialang with one of the teacher in class IV, things that will be studied more deeply about how the relationship between the implementation of teacher competencies as part of the role and duties of educators with the background of non-certified educators. Educators who do not have four competencies make them unprofessional educators, this is indicated by not being able to make learning tools, not understanding the material fully, using media and models that are not adjusted, not reflecting and evaluating, lack of understanding of students, unstable emotional maturity of educators, and rarely communicating with parents of student.

This research is motivated by the inability of students to read Javanese. This happens because the learning of Javanese has not been maximized. This study aims (1) to determine the application of reading ability using the SQ3R method to low grade students at SDN Simomulyo 1 Surabaya, (2) to determine the effect of applying the SQ3R method to reading ability in Javanese in low grade students at SDN Simomulyo 1 Surabaya. This type of research is quantitative research. The population in this study were class II students at SDN Simomulyo I Surabaya, totaling 26 students consisting of 13 male students and 13 female students. Based on the research results, the following two conclusions were concluded (1) the application of reading skills using the SQ3R method in learning at SDN Simomulyo 1 Surabaya involves students being active with teacher guidance, so that the concepts in the discussion can be understood, so as to improve students' reading skills. (2) the ability to read Javanese using the SQ3R Class II method at SDN Simomulyo I Surabaya with an average pre-test is classified as low, this is evident from the student's average score of 61.15. The ability to read Javanese using the SQ3R Class II method at SDN Simomulyo I Surabaya with an average post-test is quite good, this is evident from the students' average score of 80.

Appraisal Theory's linguistic discourse analysis gives different techniques to analyze "objectivity" and ideological bias in news editorial. Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) describes the way in which language constructs attitude, and allows speakers or writer to place themselves in relation to prospective responses or other speakers/writers in terms of how they value their opinions. The study was aimed to know existing of appraisal attitude system in news editorial and to figure out the dominant types of appraisal in the Los Angeles Times News Editorial convey the meaning of the sentence. The writer look at the creation of journalistic reality from a linguistic point of view, how the choices journalists make in terms of vocabulary reveal their ideological standing, both in terms of content and context. For this purpose the writers using the Los Angeles Times editorial which published in January 17th 2021 as an example, this chapter applies the framework an appraisal. Since these articles make connection to President Donald J. Trump. It activate powerful evaluation of appraisal attitude values that provide news articles evaluative implications that observed. The news editorial system draws attention to the importance of emotion, judgment and appreciation in its coverage of problems. As a results, the study showed that performance in appraisal system in Los Angeles Times news editorial is almost in entire text the writer give some lexical items that give “affect” to the reader. In this case is negative affect. And then, the writer intends to give less attention on appreciation lexical items.

Many children don't know the difference between conversations with their parents and their peers in this era. In Javanese society, we already see fewer and fewer children who don't experience difficulties in behaving around their parents, some don't even have it at all. Children are increasingly far from noble values and local wisdom. The methodology for writing this article is a literature review of research results published in national publications. Procurement of habituation to the use of the Javanese language for communication in elementary schools can be one of the means to be able to preserve Javanese culture and language. Besides that, it can also increase the value of the character of love for the motherland and also children's patriotism. The provision of habituation to the use of the Javanese language in elementary schools can be associated with or can influence the love of the motherland and patriotism of elementary school students.

This study aims to see the effect of learning models and independent learning on learning outcomes in class XI SMA Kristen 1 Kalabahi. The method used in this study uses experimental research method with a 2x2 factorial design. with two forms of treatment which then become independent variables in this study, namely the learning model which is divided into 2 types, namely the model Problem Based Learning of and Coperative Learning, and Independent Learning. Data collection techniques use test instruments and non-test instruments with useful data analysis Descriptive statistics are presented in the form of frequency distribution tables and histograms. Furthermore, to test the first hypothesis, statistical analysis was used, namely the analysis of variance known as ANAVA, while to test the second hypothesis, the analysis of the mean difference test was used. For the third and fourth hypotheses, a one-party average different test analysis was used. The research results show that 1)Model problem based learning more effectively implemented than model coperative learning in improving student outcomes; 2) Students with high learning independence can improve student learning outcomes; 3) There is an interaction effect between learning models and independent learning on student learning outcomes; 4) Students with high learning independence, model problem based learning more effectively used than model coperative learning in improving student learning outcomes; 5) Application model problem based learning, students who have high learning independence are more effective than students who have low learning independence in improving student learning outcomes.

Non-English students of Nursing and Economics need to learn English effectively by using appropriate learning strategies that reflect their learning styles in which to achieve their learning goals. This study investigated learning styles and learning strategies in learning used by non-English students. An explanatory mixed-methods design was used involving both quantitative and qualitative data. The findings revealed that out of listening, speaking, and writing strategies, there was a statistical difference (p> 0.05) in the language learning strategies used in reading by different sensory learning styles (visual, auditory, and tactile). For personal learning styles, the use of strategies in speaking and reading employed by Extroverted-Random-Open and Introverted-Concrete-Closure of Nursing and Economics students also had statistical differences (p< 0.05). On the contrary, strategies in listening and writing used by both groups of Extroverted-Random-Open and Introverted-Concrete-Closure were no statistical differences. Meanwhile, in cognitive learning styles, there was a statistical difference (p> 0.05) in the use of strategies in speaking and reading between synoptic and etanic Science and Social Science students. These findings showed that both Nursing and Economics students used the strategies for receptive skills (listening and reading) and productive skills (speaking) in high-frequency usage except for writing strategies in the moderate range. It means that they can be categorized as language learners and users

This study aims to determine the extent to which powtoon animation learning media can influence student learning outcomes on material changes in the shape of objects in class III SDN Kertajaya IV/210 Surabaya. This research uses quantitative research with pre-experimental method one group pretest posttest. The data collection technique used was observation and pretest posttest. This study uses SPSS 25.0. Based on the results of the t-test analysis of the average pretest of 64.37 and the average posttest value of 87,25 and the sig. (2-tailed) or a test of 0,01 which means <0,05 indicates that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. While the results of the percentage of pretest scores of students who meet the minimum completeness criteria (> 75) from the data it can be seen that of the 24 respondents who completed the work only 7 students and those who did not complete as many as 17 students and the results of the percentage value of the posttest it is known that students who meet the completeness criteria minimum (> 75) as many as 22 students from 24 students. This study shows that there is a significant effect of animated videos on student learning outcomes at SDN Kertajaya IV/210 Surabaya.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of learning numeracy on the ability to solve mathematical problems. Polya's problem solving steps consist of understanding the problem, planning a solution, carrying out a solution plan, and checking again. This type of research is to use quantitative research methods and use pretest and posttest data collection techniques. The population in this study were fourth grade students at Rungkut Menggal I Elementary School in Surabaya, totaling 30 students. The result of this research is that there is a difference in the effect of learning mathematics numeracy for fourth grade students at Rungkut Menggal I Elementary School in Surabaya. This can be seen from the results of testing the hypothesis using the t-test, it is found that the value of Tcount > Ttable is 5.038 > 2.048. Thus it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning that there is an effect of learning mathematical numeracy on problem solving.
