Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) cooperative learning model in enhancing students' creativity in learning Christian Religious Education at SMP Yabes School Medan. Specifically, the research examines the extent to which TSTS improves creativity through group collaboration and mutual problem-solving. The research method employed is a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design. The research sample consists of seventh-grade students at SMP Yabes School Medan. The results show that the TSTS cooperative learning model is effective in increasing students' creativity. This is evident from the improvement in the average scores of students before and after the implementation of the TSTS model. Based on data analysis, it was found that group work and mutual problem-solving significantly contribute to encouraging students to think more creatively and engage actively in the learning process. In conclusion, the TSTS learning model can be used as an effective alternative to enhance students' creativity in learning Christian Religious Education. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers implement this learning model continuously, with further development, to maximize students' learning potential.

Abstract

This research is entitled "The Effect of Picture Card Media on the Ability to Recognize Alphabets in Children Aged 4-5 Years at TK Bina Vita Palembang". The problem in this study is the low ability to recognize alphabets. This study aims to determine the application of picture card media on the ability to recognize alphabets, the ability to recognize alphabets after being given picture card media, and to determine the effect of picture card media on the ability to recognize alphabets in children aged 4-5 years at TK Bina Vita  Palembang. This type of research is quantitative with a pre-experimental design experimental research method. The design of this study uses One Group Pretest - Posttest Design. The population of this study was group A children totaling 17 children at TK Bina Vita Palembang. Data collection techniques used observation, testing, and documentation techniques. Data analysis techniques in this study used validity tests, reliability tests, normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests using t-tests. The hypothesis results were obtained after the initial test (pretest) and final test (posttest), then the researcher analyzed the results of the study. The results of data analysis in proving the hypothesis test obtained tcount = 31.498 while dk = 17-1 = 16 level of 5% so that it was obtained for ttable = 1.74588 because tcount > ttable (31.498> 1.74588) then HO is rejected and Ha is accepted. This means that there is an influence of picture word card media on the ability to recognize letters of the alphabet in children aged 4-5 years at TK Bina Vita Palembang.

Abstract

This research is entitled The Effect of Using Paper Quilling Playing Media on Children creativity at RA Perwanida 2 Palembang. The problem of this researcher is the effect of using Paper Quilling plaing media on childen’s creatyvyty at RA Perwanida 2 Palembang. This research is motivated bt the lack of children’s creativity abilites which are marked bt the lack of a less than optimal learning process in carrying out actevities. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of using papwe quilling media at RA Perwanida 2 Palembang. The type of this study is Pre-experimental with a 0ne0 Group Pretest-Posstest design ( one group of subject). With a sample size of 18 children with 7 famele and 11 male children. The data collection technique used in this study was using the initial observation technique before used to collect data during the treatment. The test ini the froam of a score was carried out to determine the result after being given treatment and documentation in the form of photos. Data analysys techniques in the study used normality test , homogeneity test and hypotesis test. The Hypotesis result of this study obtained a count of -23.584 while the t tabbe was 1.7341 because the value of it count > t table. Then HO is rejected HA is accepted meaning there is a diference in statistical values so HA is accepsted Ho is rejected,meaning, there is aninfluence of the use of Paper Quilling Playing Medi in RA Perwanida 2 Palembang

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the transition program from Early Childhood Education (PAUD) to Elementary School (SD) at TK Bina Vita Palembang. This transition is a crucial process that influences children's readiness to enter primary education. The study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation involving the principal, teachers, and parents of students. The results show that the implementation of the transition program involves various activities designed to stimulate children's academic, social-emotional, and independence readiness. Transition activities include introducing the elementary school environment, establishing daily routines, and involving parents in supporting the adaptation process. Challenges encountered include limited facilities and a lack of parental understanding regarding the importance of the transition program. Efforts to address these challenges include improving communication between the school and parents as well as providing training for teachers. The study concludes that a well-structured and continuous transition program can optimally support children's readiness to enter elementary education

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of Kahoot as a digital learning medium in enhancing students’ interest in science education. Conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Sumber in class IX F, the research utilized a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design implemented over two cycles, each comprising planning, implementation, observation, and reflection phases. The participants included 32 ninth-grade students. Data collection methods consisted of classroom observation, questionnaires, interviews, and document analysis. Quantitative descriptive analysis was performed using a Likert scale. The findings revealed a substantial increase in students' interest in learning, with scores rising from 53% in the pre-cycle (classified as low), to 68% in Cycle I (moderate), and reaching 83% in Cycle II (high). Improvements were observed across all dimensions of learning interest: enjoyment, curiosity, engagement, and attention. The integration of Kahoot fostered an interactive and enjoyable learning environment, which significantly motivated students to participate more actively in the classroom. These results suggest that Kahoot serves as an effective and innovative pedagogical tool for enhancing student engagement and improving the overall quality of science education at the secondary level.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a local wisdom-based handout on biology technology innovation material for class X SMA by utilizing dadih as an additional ingredient in making durian dadih ice cream. Dadih is one example of local wisdom of traditional food from West Sumatra, but local potential such as dadih has not been optimally integrated in school learning as a learning resource. In fact, dadih is very relevant to biology material, especially in learning biological technology innovations related to fermentation processes and microbiology. This research consisted of two stages, namely experiments in making durian dadih ice cream with different lengths of dadih fermentation and handout development using the ADDIE development model until the development stage. The experimental method used a completely randomized design (CRD) of 4 treatments with 3 repetitions. Parameters observed included organoleptic tests of aroma, taste, color, texture. The results showed that the best treatment was A2 treatment with dadih fermentation time for 48 hours with the category of aroma not rancid, slightly sour taste, slightly yellowish color, slightly soft texture. Furthermore, the research results were integrated into the handout design, which was validated by experts and obtained an average score of 3.7, with a very valid category. This study shows that durian dadih ice cream food products have a p-value of 3.7, with a very valid category. This research shows that durian dadih ice cream food products have great potential as innovative contextual teaching materials in learning biological technology innovation in class X high school biology learning.

Abstract

Biodiversity refers to the variety of life that encompasses all living organisms on Earth, ranging from genetic, species, to ecosystem levels. Education is a vital aspect of human life. In simple terms, education is a human effort to develop individual potential in accordance with cultural norms and the surrounding environment. Understanding biodiversity is essential in biology learning as it helps students recognize the natural potential of their surroundings. This research aims to design a biodiversity pocketbook based on medicinal plants found in Kampar Kiri Hulu District, Kampar Regency, as a contextual and engaging biology learning medium for high school students. The research was conducted in two stages: identification of medicinal plant species through field surveys and interviews with local communities, and the development of the pocketbook using the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate). The identification results revealed 59 medicinal plant species from 33 families, with the Zingiberaceae family being the most dominant. These plants are traditionally processed by methods such as boiling, pounding, and topical application, and are used to treat various common to internal diseases. The pocketbook includes detailed descriptions, original photographs, classifications, benefits, and usage methods of the medicinal plants. Validation by media and material experts indicated that the pocketbook is valid in terms of content structure, language, and graphic design. This pocketbook can be used in Phase E of the Merdeka Curriculum, especially for species-level biodiversity material. Besides serving as a learning resource, this pocketbook also functions as documentation of local knowledge that has been passed down orally and not yet systematically recorded.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the diversity of vegetation found in the Genduang Village Forest area, Pangkalan Lesung District, and integrated into the design of poster media on biodiversity material. This study is a type of quantitative descriptive research consisting of 2 stages, namely the field research stage in the Genduang Village Forest, Pangkalan Lesung District, Pelalawan Regency and the poster media design stage. Determination of the research location was carried out by purposive sampling, which means that the determination of the station used as a research site is based on certain considerations, namely high vegetation density, medium density and low density so that 3 research stations were obtained. The parameters observed include biological parameters and environmental physical and chemical parameters. The results of this study are the composition of vegetation in the Genduang Village Forest found as many as 16 families with tree strata consisting of 223 individuals, pole strata consisting of 145 individuals, sapling strata consisting of 94 individuals and seedling strata consisting of 259 individuals. The diversity index value for tree strata is 2.255 categorized as moderate, pole strata is 1.998 categorized as moderate, sapling strata is 1.949 categorized as moderate, and seedling strata is 1.621 categorized as moderate. Chemical factors are soil pH ranging from 6.7–7.0. Physical factors are soil temperature ranging from 26.67-280C, air temperature ranging from 27.50-290C and air humidity ranging from 83.41-90%. The results of the vegetation diversity index in the Genduang Village forest are categorized as moderate diversity. The results of the research that has been conducted are integrated into the design of poster media on biodiversity material in grade X of high school which can later be used in the biology learning process in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and social skills of students at SDK Ende 3. This study uses a quantitative correlational approach with a population of 335 students in grades IV, V and VI using a purposive sampling technique with a sample determination criterion of 20% of the population, so that the sample obtained amounted to 67 students. Data collection techniques were carried out using emotional intelligence and social skills questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis using Pearson product moment correlation technique. The results of the study showed that most students had levels of emotional intelligence and social skills in the moderate category. The results of the correlation test showed an r value of 0.508 with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), meaning that there is a positive and significant relationship between emotional intelligence and social skills. The conclusion is that emotional intelligence and social skills are interrelated, where the higher the emotional intelligence, the higher the social skills and vice versa, the lower the emotional intelligence, the lower the student's social skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk-bentuk interferensi bahasa Bajo Bugis dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris, khususnya pada keterampilan membaca siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri Satu Atap 1 Keruak. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interferensi terjadi pada aspek fonologi, morfologi, sintaksis, dan semantik. Interferensi fonologi tampak pada pengucapan kata yang mengikuti pola bahasa ibu, sementara interferensi morfologi terlihat dari penambahan imbuhan lokal. Pada aspek sintaksis, siswa cenderung menggunakan urutan kata yang sesuai dengan struktur bahasa Bajo Bugis, sedangkan pada aspek semantik, siswa sering menerjemahkan secara literal yang menyebabkan kesalahan makna. Interferensi ini berdampak pada pemahaman teks bacaan siswa yang cenderung kurang akurat. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya peran guru dalam merancang strategi pembelajaran yang lebih kontekstual dan kontrastif agar siswa mampu membedakan secara jelas antara sistem bahasa ibu dan bahasa Inggris yang dipelajari.
