Abstract

This study aims to analyze English textbook entitled English for Nusantara for grade 7 junior high school students at the Kurikulum Merdeka and to find out all the strengths and the weaknesses of this book in the items aims and approach, language content, skills, topic, methodology, and practical consideration determined by Cunningsworth's theory (1995). The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with content analysis and literature study. The subjects in this study are the 5 chapters contained in the English for Nusantara textbook. In collecting data, the writer makes a table and evaluates each item determined from Cunningsworth's theory (1995). In data analysis techniques, the percentage of item fulfillment is calculated by dividing the total criteria met by the total number of criteria for each item then multiplied by 100%. Then determine the strengths and the weaknesses of each of these items. The results of this study indicate that the English textbook English for Nusantara fulfills an average of 94% in the "Good" category with items aims and approach (100%), language content (66.67%), skills (100%), topic (100%), methodology (100%), and practical consideration (100%) and has its strengths and weaknesses inside.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in developing critical thinking skills on the "Youth Pledge." The method employed in this study is a quasi-experiment with a non- equivalent control group design. The sample consists of Grade VIII A as the experimental group (n=30) and Grade VIII C as the control group (n=30). The data collection techniques include questionnaires,  observations, and documentation analysis, which were analyzed using alternative paired sample test and independent sample t-test with results of 0.000 0.05, indicating that the Problem-Based Learning model effectively cultivates critical thinking skills among students. This is supported by the results of the n-gain present test, which yielded a score of 61.81% for the experimental group and 34.31% for the control group. The effect size test yielded a value of 2.61, falling into the category of high influence.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the types and functions of deixis used in the movie Spiderman: No Way Home. This study used Spiderman: No Way Home as the object. This study used a qualitative approach. The writer used Levinson's (1983) theory to analyze the data. In the study of deixis in the movie Spiderman: No Way Home, it was found that there are five types of deixis consisting of person, place, time, discourse, and social deixis. In this study, 1,903 tokens were found from various lexemes and deixis types. Of the total, 1,478 tokens can be identified as belonging to the category of person deixis. There are 79 tokens in the category of place deixis, 60 tokens in the category of time deixis, 259 tokens in the category of discourse deixis, and 27 tokens in the category of social deixis. It can be concluded that person deixis is more dominant than other types. Based on the analysis, character P1 most frequently uses each type of deixis in the movie Spiderman: No Way Home. P1 uses 748 person deixis, 30 time deixis, 34 place deixis, 137 discourse deixis, and 20 social deixis, with a total of 969 tokens. The use of a person, place, time, discourse, and social deixis in the film Spiderman: No Way Home is properly used as their function. After analyzing the use of words and phrases related to these aspects in the context of the movie, there is nothing inappropriate. Thus, based on the analysis of the use of a person, place, time, discourse, and social deixis in the film Spiderman: No Way Home, it can be concluded that the characters' uses have been by their functions, none of which are deviant.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the character values contained in Bangka Belitung’s folklore. This study was descriptive qualitative research. The data collection techniques used documentation and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used in this research was the Miles and Huberman method, namely data reduction analysis, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The data in this study were in the form of quotations that identify character values in the folklore book. The data source of this study was a story entitled Paga and Si Prnyumpit, which is contained in the Bangka Belitung folklore book by Sarman and Dwi Oktarina published by Azzagrafika in 2017. In this study, two Bangka Belitung folktales were analyzed, namely the story of Paga and Si Penyumpit. The results of the analysis in the Paga story are sentences that contain character values, namely 2 values of hard work character value, 1 value of social care character value, and 1 value of friendly character value. Furthermore, the story of Si Penyumpit contains sentences that contain character values, namely the character value of responsibility as much as 1 value, the value of social care character as much as 2 values, and the value of a peace-loving character as much as 1 value.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemilihan Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila khususnya pada jenjang SMP dan jenis SMP Negeri di Sekolah Penggerak di Kabupaten Sragen tahun 2023. Sumber data dari angket googleform yang disebar ke SMP Negeri terpilih. Sementara analisa menggunakan pendekatan statistik. Subyek penelitian merupakan SMP Negeri yang menjadi sekolah penggerak di Kabupaten Sragen. Kabupaten Sragen memiliki 8 SMP Negeri yang menjadi sekolah penggerak. SMP tersebut menerapkan Kurikulum Merdeka terlebih dahulu dibanding sekolah lain di Kabupaten Sragen. Dalam penerapan Kurikulum Merdeka tersebut, Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila menjadi ciri pembeda dibandingkan dengan penerapan kurikulum 2013 dan kurikulum lain. Dalam Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila, terdapat dimensi, tema, dan alokasi waktu Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila yang bisa dipilih masing-masing SMP tiap tahunnya. Pemilihanya tersebut bisa berbeda antar SMP yang ada di Kabupaten Sragen. Fokus penelitian ini terletak pada sebaran tema yang dipilih SMP yang menjadi sampel. Berdasarkan penelitian yang ada, ditemukan bahwa lima SMP yang menjadi sampel memiliki sejumlah hal menarik. Terdapat sejumlah persamaan dan perbedaan dari masing-masing SMP dalam mengambil tema dan juga penentuan waktu Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila. Berdasarkan hal itu, diharapkan penelitian ini dapat menjadi sarana bagi sekolah untuk saling bertukar informasi, ide dan pengalaman dalam dalam mengoptimalkan Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila di SMP-nya masing-masing.

Abstract

Studi ini bermaksud memaparkan bagaimana peningkatan keterampilan perkalian siswa kelas II SD Negeri 057224 Paluh Gusta Tahun Pelajaran 2022/2023, studi ini memakai metode penelitian tindakan kelas dengan rancangannya dua siklus, dimana tiap siklus meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian memaparkan terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan dalam keterampilan menghitung perkalian siswa dari pratindakan hingga siklus II. Pada pratindakan, hanya 4 siswa (19%) yang tuntas dalam soal pretes, namun pada siklus I terdapat 7 siswa (33%) yang tuntas, dan pada siklus II terdapat 16 siswa (76%) yang tuntas. Terjadi peningkatan klasikal sebanyak 9 siswa (43%) dari pratindakan hingga siklus II. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa melalui tindakan perbaikan dan penggunaan media papan telur dan kelereng, keterampilan menghitung perkalian siswa mengalami perbaikan yang signifikan. Kemudian, penggunaan media papan telur dan kelereng dalam pembelajaran Matematika telah memberikan pengaruh positif dalam meningkatkan aktivitas siswa. Hasil observasi aktivitas siswa menunjukkan peningkatan ketuntasan aktivitas siswa dari siklus I ke siklus II. Pada siklus I, hanya 6 siswa (28%) yang tuntas dalam aktivitas siswa, sedangkan siswa yang tidak tuntas mencapai 15 siswa (72%). Namun, pada siklus II terjadi peningkatan yang signifikan, dengan 14 siswa (67%) yang tuntas dan hanya 7 siswa (33%) yang tidak tuntas. Secara klasikal, aktivitas siswa pada siklus II telah memenuhi kriteria ketuntasan yang ditetapkan yaitu ? 70. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media papan telur dan kelereng dalam pembelajaran Matematika telah memberikan dampak positif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menghitung perkalian siswa serta meningkatkan aktivitas siswa selama proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dasar siswa kelas 8A di SMPN 2 Jatilawang melalui model Predict-Observe- Explain (POE) dan mengetahui peningkatan aspek KPS setelah diterapkan model POE. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang telah dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus. Subyek penelitian adalah kelas 8A tahun ajaran 2022/2023 berjumlah 36 siswa. Instrumen penelitian berupa lembar observasi, test, angket dan wawancara. Pengambilan data menggunakan triangulasi data. Kesimpulan rata-rata nilai KPS pra siklus 43,09% dengan kategori kurang sekali dan mengalami peningkatan pada siklus I sebesar 50,36% kategori kurang sekali dan meningkat pada siklus II 63,65% dengan kategori cukup. Rata-rata respon siswa 77,35% dengan kategori positif. Aspek KPS yang meningkat yaitu mengamati, meramalkan, mengkomunikasikan. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa model POE dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dasar siswa dengan peningkatan aspek yang optimal pada aspek mengamati, meramalkan dan mengkomunikasikan.

Abstract

This article explores the integration of Design Thinking into English Language Teaching (ELT) classrooms as a means to empower students. Design Thinking, a dynamic problem-solving framework, offers a student-centred approach to education that places learners at the forefront. This article further investigates the ideation phase, where creativity in language use is encouraged through technology integration and interactive activities. These practices align with 21st-century skill development, promoting creativity, critical thinking, and effective communication. Prototyping, another crucial Design Thinking stage, finds application in project-based learning activities that tangibly reinforce language skills while offering real-world context. The author explores the theories of testing phase that empowers students to apply language competence beyond the classroom, emphasizes the practical value of language acquisition. By examining the confluence of Design Thinking principles with ELT, this article discusses the potential to prepare students as not only proficient communicators but also as adaptable thinkers ready to navigate our interconnected world. Design Thinking, therefore, emerges as a powerful tool for transforming ELT classrooms into hubs of innovation and student empowerment.

Abstract

Genetics is a branch of Biology that becomes the basic building blocks of Biology, because almost none of the development of biological science is based on the concept of genetics. However, until now Genetics is still considered difficult for students so that the opportunity for the emergence of an understanding of the concept of genetics that is different from the understanding put forward by experts. The difference in understanding can trigger misconceptions especially in Biology Education students as future teachers who need to master Genetics content. Therefore, efforts are needed to identify students' conceptions with diagnostic three tier test which is considered capable of providing information about misconceptions. This study aims to identify and analyze the misconceptions of Biology Education students on Genetics material. The sample used is a saturated sample, namely all Biology Education Semester 2 students of FKIP UHAMKA. The research method used is descriptive quantitative, which plays a role in data collection in the form of a percentage of student conceptions to be compared with predetermined criteria. The results of this study concluded that there were misconceptions from the 18th diagnostic three tier test of Genetics material by 50%. Of the four sub-materials, respectively, the highest misconceptions occurred in the substance of genetics by 54%, cell division by 51%, patterns of inheritance of traits by 49%, and mutations by 43%.

Abstract

The wakalah agreement that appears in financing schemes in Islamic banks becomes a series with the murabahah agreement. This series of contracts then appears in financing in the form of a murabahah bil wakalah contract. The specific purpose of this research is to find out and analyze the juridical basis of the murabahah bil wakalah contract in positive law and Islamic Law in Indonesia. This research is categorized as legal research with a normative juridical method. The normative juridical approach used is the statute approach. The data collection method in this research uses cross methods, namely literature study, observation and interviews, according to the types and sources of data needed. Until now, there are no rules governing murabahah bil wakalah as a unit in Islamic bank financing products, both rules in positive law and Islamic law in Fatwa DSN MUI. Therefore, the juridical basis for murabahah bil wakalah financing comes from the juridical basis for each murabahah contract and wakalah contract, whether from the Law, Regulations of the Financial Services Authority of the Republic of Indonesia, or other laws and regulations, as well as Fatwa DSN MUI.
