This article discusses the understanding of mystical incarnation within the context of the Logos Seminar, a theological forum that often provides alternative perspectives on traditional doctrines. The main focus of the article is the differing interpretation of incarnation presented by the Logos Seminar compared to the traditional understanding of incarnation upheld by the Church. The Logos Seminar claims that the Church’s understanding of incarnation has been influenced by pagan culture, leading to a mystical interpretation of the concept. The aim of this study is to critically examine the mystical incarnation concept promoted by the Logos Seminar and to evaluate its theological claims in comparison to traditional doctrines and systematic theology scholars' views. Through dogmatic and theological analysis, the author explores the core ideas of mystical incarnation and compares them with the perspectives of systematic theology scholars. The findings reveal that the mystical incarnation concept contradicts two key aspects: (1) the theological meaning of "God coming into the world" as described in several letters of the New Testament, and (2) the approach proposed by mystical incarnation differs from previous scholars' approaches, who, despite their varying methods, consistently emphasized the divinity of Jesus during His ministry on earth. While John’s Gospel introduces the incarnation as part of the mission of salvation, the mystical incarnation views it as a human process, placing Jesus on par with ordinary humans, comparable to Adam.

One of the theological titles addressed to Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God. This title can be found in John 1:29 and 1:36 which is the title of John the Baptist to Jesus, and is not found in the Synoptic Gospels. A number of scholars have attempted to interpret the phrase Lamb of God both in a literal and figurative sense and there are a number of different meanings. In this paper, the author seeks the meaning of the phrase Lamb of God in John 1:29 using the exegetical method. The exegetical method used three analyses: contextual analysis, historical, and grammatical and literal analysis. From the analysis carried out, it was found that the meaning of the phrase Lamb of God which is directed at Jesus explains the work of Jesus' salvation through His death on the cross which brought redemption and remission of sins for humans by taking Jewish background: the Passover lamb, and the divine qualities possessed by Christ as the Lamb of God.

One of the wisdom literature books that is frequently quoted, though often interpreted out of context, is the book of Ecclesiastes, which remains relevant to the life of believers. However, there are still differences in interpretation and limitations in historical cultural analysis, as well as varying approaches to textual focus and accountability in understanding life. This article aims to bridge the contradictory aspects of the vanity of wisdom in Ecclesiastes 1:12-18 and its harmony with the benefits of wisdom in the book of Proverbs. The methodology used in this research is wisdom literature hermeneutics, which includes an in-depth textual analysis and historical analysis of the text of Ecclesiastes 1:12-18. This approach provides a bridging understanding that allows for recognizing the contradictions (negation) and harmony in the books of Ecclesiastes and Proverbs, as well as their theological and practical implications for readers. Despite the variety of interpretations, integrating these elements offers a comprehensive view of wisdom and provides a critical reflection both scientifically and practically for real-life application through a relevant, proportional, and balanced theological interpretation in understanding hebel and hokmah. Thus, the awareness of the limitations of human wisdom should be oriented towards complete dependence on the fear of the Lord.

The increasing number of congregants who rarely attend worship has become a serious challenge for many churches in maintaining spiritual engagement and community commitment. This study aims to identify the factors that cause congregants to distance themselves from worship activities and to explore strategies that churches can implement to reengage alienated members. Using a qualitative approach, this research involved in-depth interviews with 8 selected congregants who had demonstrated inactivity in worship, focusing on a case study at Church HKBP Pardamean. The interview findings revealed several key factors contributing to the lack of attendance, including the rising demands of modern life, individualism influenced by technology, and disappointment with internal church aspects. Based on these findings, the study recommends practical strategies for churches, such as personalized approaches and strengthening the sense of belonging among congregants. This article aims to provide guidance for churches in addressing the issue of congregational disengagement and developing a more inclusive pastoral approach.

This study aims to analyze the concept of resurrection in Christian and Reform Judaism beliefs, emphasizing that resurrection is a manifestation of God's power over life and death. The study contrasts the Christian belief, which regards resurrection as an integral part of faith, with the Reform Judaism view, which generally rejects resurrection as a literal fact. Using the Historical-Critical interpretation method and a qualitative approach, this research analyzes Matthew 22:23-33 through inner-text and inter-text approaches to reveal its theological meaning and context. The findings show that resurrection is not merely a theological doctrine in the Christian faith, but also serves as evidence of God's power over life and death, aligning with the belief that those who die in faith in God will be resurrected. In conclusion, this research makes a significant contribution to the theological understanding of resurrection, highlights its distinction from Reform Judaism beliefs, and reinforces the role of resurrection as a key element in Christian faith.

The post-truth era has had a significant impact on the responses and behaviors of both individuals and groups. The characteristics of this era tend to blur objective facts and lead to relativism, where objective truth is no longer considered absolute. This situation triggers the spread of false news and the distortion of facts, causing individuals to become disseminators of lies or, at the very least, mislead others into logical fallacies far from objective truth. The purpose of this research is to analyze the impact of the post-truth era on individual behavior and thinking, as well as to uncover the factors contributing to the widespread dissemination of lies and manipulation of facts. This study also aims to understand the root causes of the chaos in the post-truth era from a theological perspective. This research employs a qualitative method with a library research approach. The researcher analyzes the variables used and presents them descriptively. The results of the study indicate that the chaos of the post-truth era stems from individuals being deceived, manipulated, and trapped in the allure of lies, diverting them from the objective truth that originates from God, and instead leading them towards subjective truth driven by personal desires and passions.

The phrase, "Yet I have loved Jacob, but Esau I have hated," found in Malachi 1:2-3, has sparked significant debate, particularly concerning the concept of election in the doctrine of salvation. Therefore, this study aims to explore the intended meaning of the author of the book of Malachi. Utilizing a qualitative exegetical method, alongside several specific analytical steps, this research seeks to produce objective findings that align with the truth of Scripture. After conducting the study through this method, it concludes that the phrase in this verse does not pertain to the concept of election in the doctrine of salvation, but rather reflects the nature of God, who is capable of both love and hatred. Furthermore, the study emphasizes that God's love and hatred cannot be equated with human emotions.

This study discusses a pastoral approach based on the biblical metaphor "Shepherd the Flock of God" (1 Peter 5:2). This metaphor serves as a foundation for understanding the role and responsibilities of a church leader in shepherding the congregation. The aim of this research is to identify how the concept of shepherding God's flock can be practically applied in the context of modern pastoral ministry. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach, involving biblical text analysis as well as a literature review related to pastoral roles. Additionally, interviews were conducted with several church leaders to gain contextual insights into the application of this metaphor in daily ministry life. The findings indicate that the metaphor of the "shepherd" depicts a leader who serves with love, patience, and moral responsibility, and who must be able to protect, guide, and nurture their congregation. In conclusion, this metaphor-based pastoral approach emphasizes the importance of a close relationship between church leaders and their congregations, as well as the profound spiritual responsibility involved in nurturing the faith and lives of the members.

In the book of 1 Samuel, the selection of Saul as king of Israel is influenced by a complex historical and theological context. 1 Samuel 14:52 highlights Saul's reliance on his soldiers in battling the Philistines, which forms the background of his leadership. Conversely, 1 Samuel 15:1-3 underscores Saul's disobedience to God's command, leading to his rejection as king. This study analyzes both aspects Saul's leadership background and his disobedience using Hebrew accent and syntax methodology to explore the theological implications. The Hebrew accent methodology aids in exploring the linguistic emphasis within the text, while Hebrew syntax examines the sentence structure that provides insights into Saul’s character. The analysis reveals that although Saul experienced notable military success, his disobedience to God’s commands was the primary factor in his downfall. There is a clear connection between Saul’s reliance on human strength and his inability to fully submit to God's will. The study concludes that Saul’s rejection was not solely due to disobedience but also reflected a lack of trust in God. These findings are relevant in theological and leadership studies, emphasizing the importance of obedience to God and warning contemporary leaders of the dangers of relying on human strength.

This study aims to examine the theological meaning of Noah's Ark based on Hebrews 11:7 and analyze its relevance to the faith growth of the GESBA Shaloom Kaima congregation. Noah is portrayed as a righteous and blameless figure entrusted by God to carry out the mission of saving humanity through the construction of Noah's Ark. Due to his faith, Noah and his family were saved from the Flood. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, supported by data collection techniques such as interviews and literature studies. The interviews were conducted in an unstructured manner, allowing the researcher to interview 9 individuals, consisting of 1 pastor, 2 church council members, and 6 congregants, without strict guidelines. Literature studies were used to interpret and gather data from books and journals relevant to this research. The results show that the theological meaning of Noah's Ark significantly influences the faith growth of the GESBA Shaloom Kaima congregation and effectively nurtures the congregation's spiritual life. The study identified several key points related to the theological meaning of Noah's Ark, including a general understanding of the story of Noah's Ark in the Bible, an interpretation of the theological meaning of Noah's Ark from the perspective of Hebrews 11:7, and its relevance when integrated into Christian education and sermon materials. These findings also indicate a connection between the theological meaning of Noah's Ark and the faith growth of the GESBA congregation, including the application of the principles of Noah's Ark in daily life. Therefore, the meaning of Noah's Ark can serve as a guide for the GESBA Shaloom Kaima congregation in building a foundation for their faith growth.
