Abstract

This study aims to provide a comprehensive explanation of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) teachers strategies in developing students social care character, the challenges faced by teachers in shaping this character in the digital era, and the efforts undertaken by IRE teachers to overcome these challenges. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with one IRE teacher and three students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, with validation achieved through source, technique, and time triangulation. The findings demonstrate that IRE teachers employ several strategies, including emotional and personal approaches, adaptive classroom management, peer influence, the integration of practical values and contextual learning, as well as the utilization of technology in the digital era. The main challenges include reduced social interaction and digital addiction, a gap between values and behavioral implementation (cognitive action gap), and the disintegration of the familys educational role. The teacher addressed these challenges through several efforts, namely limiting gadget use during learning activities, delivering humanistic and developmentally appropriate advice, building emotional closeness as a form of moral role modeling, collaborating with parents and the guidance and counseling unit, conducting qualitative and continuous character evaluation, and establishing strong teacher student relationships as the foundation for successful character education. This study emphasizes that the adaptive strategies implemented by IRE teachers, along with supportive learning environments, significantly determine the success of developing students social care character in the digital era. Abstract

Abstract: This study examines the contribution of Islamic civilization to the development of the West, especially the socio-political impact that is often overlooked. Its main objective was to identify the transfer of knowledge and its influence on the socio-political structure of Europe from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. The method uses a systematic literary study and historical analysis of the work of Al-Mawardi ( Al-Ahkam al-Sultaniyyah ), Ibn Rushd, as well as cultural interactions in Al-Andalus and Sicily. The results show a dual contribution: epistemological through Ibn Rushd's preservation of Aristotle which became the basis of European scholasticism, and transformational through Al-Mawardi's model of government which introduced justice, moral legitimacy, and early checks and balances. The Islamic Trade Network and the city of Cordoba sparked the emergence of Europe's first university and pluralistic civil society.These contributions form the foundation of modern Western inclusive democracy, demanding a reinterpretation of anti-Eurocentric history. Islamic Civilization proved to be an essential catalyst of Western modernity. Keywords: Islamic Civilization; Socio-Political Implications; Knowledge Transfer;

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the process of internalizing religious values within the practice of progressive education at Pondok Pesantren Al-Amanah Modern Junwangi Sidoarjo, “especially through the Sanggar Tahfidz Entrepreneur program. The selection of this topic is based on the need to develop an Islamic education model that not only emphasizes spiritual dimensions but is also relevant to the demands of the 21st century. This research employs a qualitative field research approach using in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation involving teachers, administrators, and students. The findings show that religious values such as sincerity, discipline, trustworthiness, responsibility, and patience are internalized through habituation, role modeling, and various tahfidz activities, including recitation submission, muroja’ah, mentoring, and strengthening Qur’anic etiquette. Meanwhile, progressivism principles are manifested through experiential learning (learning by doing), democratic participation, and reflective evaluation, as reflected in entrepreneurial activities ranging from production and digital marketing to business management. The integration of both aspects produces a holistic educational model in which religious values are not merely understood cognitively but are lived through real-life experiences that shape spiritual character, independence, creativity, and critical thinking skills. These findings affirm that pesantren education can adapt progressively without losing its religious identity. Keywords: entrepreneur; religious values; progressive education; progressivism; tahfidz

Abstract

Abstract: This paper aims to examine the development of learning resources by design in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and Character Building (Budi Pekerti) learning in grade XI high schools (SMA/SMK). The research method used is R&D (Research and Development) using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Data were collected from interviews with students at SMK Pawyatan Daha 1, Kediri City. The development of learning resources by design was carried out using an educational application, IslamiQuest (IQ), which can display several features in a simple, creative, innovative, clear, and up-to-date manner. This development was made to make it easier for teachers to deliver materials and for students to find information, work on problems, and improve their understanding of the material. The study found that using the IslamiQuest application can attract students' interest in learning and improve their understanding and learning outcomes, as the learning resources presented in the application align with students' interests and current developments. Therefore, the development of learning resources by design, using online platforms such as the IslamiQuest application, plays an important role in improving learning quality by tailoring designs to students' needs and enabling them to better understand the learning material. Abstract

Abstract : The escalating prevalence of bullying has generated severe consequences for students’ mental health and the overall school climate, necessitating innovative pedagogical designs capable of mitigating such phenomena. Concurrently, the ongoing ecological crisis presents a critical challenge for educators to cultivate environmental ethical awareness through value-oriented learning processes. This study aims to examine the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers and the implementation of transformative learning approaches oriented toward environmental ethics and anti-bullying. Employing a qualitative design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observations, and document analysis. The findings reveal that the effectiveness of PAI learning in this context is significantly influenced by the strategic role of teachers and the pedagogical methods employed. Teachers’ roles encompass instructional planning, exemplary conduct, and the facilitation of students’ social-emotional development. Furthermore, dialogic and problem-based learning approaches have been demonstrated to enhance ethical awareness, active engagement, and critical thinking skills among students. This study contributes to the development of a transformative PAI learning model that addresses contemporary social challenges and offers practical implications for fostering environmentally responsible and anti-bullying educational environments. Abstract

Abstract: The rapid development of digital technology has demanded innovation in Islamic Religious Education (PAI), particularly in the subject of Islamic Cultural History (SKI), which is often perceived as monotonous and less engaging, resulting in low student participation. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the online educational game Zep Quiz in enhancing students’ activeness and understanding of Islamic values at MA Darul Ulum Waru. The research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving the SKI teacher, students, the Vice Principal for Curriculum Affairs, and the principal. The findings indicate that the implementation of Zep Quiz created a more interactive, participatory, and enjoyable learning environment. Students’ activeness increased through engagement in competitive quiz activities, group discussions, and more enthusiastic responses to the material. In addition to improving cognitive understanding, the use of the educational game facilitated the internalization of values such as perseverance, exemplary conduct, and Islamic spirit. Despite technical challenges, including internet connectivity and limited devices, this innovation is considered relevant to the characteristics of digital-native learners. The author argues that integrating online educational games into PAI instruction represents an effective and contextual pedagogical strategy to enhance learning quality in the digital era. Abstract

Abstract This research aims to analyze the integration of the values of qurban in Islamic education through the development of a holistic learning model based on the epistemology of revelation, reason, and experience. The background of this research stems from the problem of the knowledge dichotomy in contemporary Islamic education, which separates the spiritual, rational, and empirical dimensions. The research uses a qualitative approach with a type of bibliographic study (library research) and a philosophical-epistemological analysis of classical literature and recent scientific articles. The results of the research show that Islamic epistemology is integrative in nature, where revelation serves as a source of normative values, reason as a tool for critical analysis, and experience as a means of internalizing values. The worship of the qurban contains comprehensive educational values, which encompass the spiritual, moral, social, and intellectual dimensions. Based on these findings, this research formulates a holistic learning model based on the qurban that integrates the three epistemological dimensions into a single pedagogical framework. This model has significant implications for addressing the knowledge dichotomy, strengthening education in values, as well as increasing the relevance of learning in Islamic Education in the context of real life. This research contributes to the development of an integrative Islamic education paradigm that is not only oriented towards the transfer of knowledge, but also towards the transformation of values and the formation of students' ethical and spiritual consciousness. Abstract

Abstract : Advances in Artificial Intelligence (AI) have brought significant changes to the world of education, including the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) program. The use of AI has the potential to support deep learning through easier access to information, personalized learning, and increased learning efficiency. However, research on the use of AI in the context of deep learning for PAI students remains limited. This study aims to analyze the perceptions and impacts of AI utilization in supporting deep learning among PAI students. The study employs a qualitative approach using the case study method. The research participants consisted of 20 active students in the PAI program who had used AI in their academic activities and were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using the interactive model proposed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation and member checking. The results show that all respondents have used AI in their learning. Most students believe that AI helps them understand course material, speeds up the completion of assignments, facilitates the search for references, improves the efficiency of study time, and supports their motivation to learn. Additionally, AI helps students obtain explanations that are more concise and easier to understand. However, the use of AI also faces several challenges, such as limited internet connectivity, the need to verify the accuracy of information, restricted access to certain features, and the potential for overreliance on technology. This study concludes that AI has a positive impact on supporting in-depth learning among PAI students; however, its use must be approached wisely and critically, while maintaining academic ethics and recognizing the role of instructors as primary mentors in the learning process. Abstract

Abstract : Learning is the process through which students acquire new knowledge and serves as the core of education. The learning process can produce optimal outcomes when supported by a high level of learning interest. However, students’ interest in learning has continued to decline across various levels of education. One of the contributing factors is the use of less appropriate teaching methods and the lack of adequate school facilities. This study aimed to examine the learning interest of third-grade students at STATE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLegeri 1 Panican through the implementation of a learning method that differed from those previously used. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study method. The findings revealed a clear improvement in students’ learning interest. This was reflected in the high level of enthusiasm and active participation demonstrated by students throughout the learning process. Through the implementation of the Islamic Religious Education educational game “Ular Tangga Tahan Lapar”, students were encouraged to understand and recall the material that had previously been delivered by the teacher. This more interactive and enjoyable learning approach helped students become more motivated, creative, and better able to understand the learning material. Abstract

Abstract: This study is motivated by students’ low understanding of Fiqh material, especially regarding the procedures of prayer, which affects the less optimal practice of prayer in daily life. This topic is important to study because Fiqh learning plays a strategic role in shaping students’ awareness and skills in performing worship in accordance with Islamic teachings. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between students’ understanding of Fiqh learning materials and their practice of prayer among seventh-grade students at MTs Pondok Pesantren Asy-Syaakiriin Indragiri Hulu. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The population consists of 44 students, all of whom were selected as the sample using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through tests, questionnaires, and documentation, then analyzed using Pearson Product Moment correlation. The results of the hypothesis test show that the rxy value of 0.664 is higher than the r-table at the 5% and 1% significance levels, indicating that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. This means there is a significant and strong relationship. These findings highlight the importance of improving students’ understanding of Fiqh to enhance the quality of their prayer practice.
