Abstract

Electricity is a basic need of human beings. The consumption of electricity usage is getting bigger and bigger. Electricity usage is usually wasteful due to lack of public awareness and ineffective use of electricity. With this problem, the author aims to design loT-based electric power usage monitoring system in home electrical appliances. This tool is designed using sensors to detect the value of the voltage and current of the load attached to the electricity but still using the BLYNK application as a server and application to monitor the use of electric power through a smartphone application. The measurement results include the data of current, voltage, and electrical power used. This system can also remotely switch appliances ON/OFF. The test was conducted by comparing the results of the power value from the power meter with the power value in BLYNK application. After the test, the results of the comparison between the monitoring tool and the power meter measuring instrument obtained an average power error value of 0.5%. So that the accuracy value of the tool can also be 99.5%. With a large accuracy value, it means that the tool works well and can be used to monitor the use of electrical energy in households.

Abstract

Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) welding technology is a welding method that is widely used in industry. A problem that often occurs is that it is difficult for a welder to control the speed of movement of the welding nozzle, which can affect the quality of the welding results. With welding tools that can control the movement of the welding nozzle, this problem can be overcome and increase the efficiency and productivity of the welding manufacturing process. The method for testing the quality of welding results is analyzed visually using the visual test and penetrant test methods. The use of GMAW welding tools for pipe butt joints using DC motor control to vary the movement of the welding nozzle is effective, making it easier for the welder and good welding results. Good welding results were obtained for setting the welding nozzle movement time in 1.4 seconds and 1 second for one left and right the movement cycle on a pipe joint rotating at a constant speed of 24 rpm. Setting the time for the welding nozzle movement in 0.6 seconds for one cycle of left and right movement produces poor welding in pipe joints that rotate at the same speed.

Abstract

Tengkuit is a traditional tool used by farmers to care for katuk, chilies, lumai, and others. The problem that farmers complain about is frequent wear and tear and chipping, which according to farmers and craftsmen must maximize quality and this must increase production costs and farmers' expenses. As time goes by, innovations have been made by humans to increase the durability of an object or material by increasing its hardness to save or reduce production costs. This research used qualitative approach with the taguchi method. The Taguchi method is a new engineering technique that aims to improve product and process quality while minimizing costs and resources. Taguchi's experimental design is more efficient because it allows searches involving many factors and numbers, and has good large-scale violent response. The maximum check value is the optimal parameter value for the tengkuit making process. Temperature and cooling media are very influential factors in testing hardness for making tengkuit. The results of the hardness research were shown as the lowest hardness value at a temperature of 600°C, with well water cooling media with a value of 24.3 HRC, and the highest hardness value at a temperature of 800°C. with bromus oil cooling media at a temperature of 700 ° C and a hardness value of 42.9HRC.

Abstract

To help businesses or organizations manage their inventory of goods more effectively and efficiently, information management is crucial. Businesses can monitor and manage the amount of goods on hand, prevent shortages or excess inventory, and streamline the shipping and receiving process with effective information management. Instead of utilizing a technology-based (computer-based) management system, the equipment management system in the Tool Crib of the POLMED mechanical engineering workshop is still conventional. wherein equipment borrowed by students or other stakeholders is not information management-based and is instead still documented in a form. Therefore, it is impossible to effectively control the quantity, quality, and identity of the tools that are borrowed. And the fact that the equipment is frequently misplaced or lost presents a challenge. The Waterfall method is the approach devised during the research. Software development follows a methodical design called the Waterfall Method. This study used quantitative descriptive research as its methodology. A method or approach to solving research problems in quantitative descriptive research involves characterizing the state of the object under investigation a person, organization, factory, etc. as it is based on real facts at the moment the research was conducted or is being conducted.
