Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries that has the main capital in the tourism sector, namely abundant natural resources that are enchanting, however, it would be a shame if it is not managed well, because the huge potential that exists will be wasted and cannot be utilized for the welfare of the community.  Apart from natural wealth, the success of a tourism sector is influenced by other factors, such as cultural diversity, traditions and local wisdom, including support from the availability of existing infrastructure, as an attraction that encourages tourists to visit, then supports the development and progress of tourism, which encourages increasing regional income around tourist attractions and contributing greatly to the national economy. In order for the tourism sector to be able to be competitive and highly attractive, apart from having an appropriate and effective strategy, it must also be able to provide adequate infrastructure in all tourism objects, because these facilities are the main gateway in providing the best service for tourists and function as a supporter that provides various conveniences for tourists to reach the desired tourist destinations, provides comfort and guarantees their safety while traveling, all of which will increase the ability of the tourism industry to continue to strive to contribute optimally in increasing economic growth, through the utilization of natural resource wealth. , the variety of cultures and local wisdom that exist. This research focuses on the importance of the availability of tourism infrastructure in increasing tourist visits in domestic tourism and international tourism.

Abstract

Procedures for planning earthquake resistance for building and non-building structures, SNI 1726:2019 have been approved as a revision of procedures for planning earthquake resistance for building and non-building structures, SNI 1726:2012. With the implementation of SNI 1726:2019, existing buildings should be re-evaluated for their safety against this new regulation. This research examines changes in the performance of shophouse structures in the cities of Sidikalang, Tarutung, Padangsidimpuan, Sei Rampah, Tebing Tinggi, Limapuluh, and Lubuk Pakam. The results show that as a result of the change from SNI 1726:2012 to SNI 1726:2019 there was an increase in the value of the base shear force in the cities of Sidikalang, Sei Rampah, Tebing Tinggi, Limapuluh, and Lubuk Pakam with values respectively 32%, 8%, 11%, 7 %, and 10%. However, in the cities of Tarutung and Padangsidimpuan there was a decrease in the basic shear force value of 3% and 30%. The increase in base shear force is directly proportional to the increase in drift and interstory drift. The interstory drift that occurs is still below the permitted interstory drift.

Abstract

The title of this research was The Influence of Communication Strategy and Prime Service on Library Members’ Satisfaction at the Library of Politeknik Negeri Medan. The research used the theory of satisfaction. Kotler (2014) points out that there are two theories of satisfaction: theory of performance expectation and theory of cognitive inappropriateness. Theory of performance expectation states that consumer satisfaction is the function of consumers’ expectation of the result. If the result is in accordance with what has been expected, consumers will be satisfied, if it exceeds what has been expected, they will be more satisfied, but if it is not in accordance with what has been expected, they will be dissatisfied. The population was 5,994 members of the library, and 98 of them were used as the samples, taken by using Slovin formula. The data were gathered by using questionnaires and conducting documentation and observation. The result of the research showed that the factors of communication strategy and prime service had positive and significant influence on library members’ satisfaction which indicated that the better the communication strategy and the prime service, the higher the library members’ level of satisfaction.

Abstract

Red brick is one of the building materials used to make building walls. Red bricks are made from clay and can be mixed using additives. The use of clay has the most composition in the red brick mixture. Adding addictive materials is an effort that many researchers have made to improve the quality of red bricks. In this study, researchers were interested in using carrageenan as a mixture of red bricks. The research was carried out experimentally in the laboratory by making brick samples measuring 5 cm x 5 cm x 5 cm with various mixtures of BMC (control), BMK5 with the addition of 5% carrageenan, BMK10 with the addition of 10% carrageenan, and BMK15 with the addition of 15% carrageenan with drying temperature 50°C, 100°C, and 150°C for 24 hours.Research data was obtained through an experimental process of testing the compressive strength of red bricks using a compression test equipment. The data obtained was processed to obtain the compressive strength value of the red brick. The results showed that addition of 5% of the carrageenan mixture had an effect on the compressive strength of the red brick. Addition of 5% carrageenan contributed to the increase in the compressive strength of the red brick. There was a decrease in the compressive strength of the red brick in the sample with the percentage of addition carrageenan by 10% and 15 %. The ideal drying temperature for a mixture of red bricks with carrageenan is at 50℃ for 24 hours.
