Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept, process, and results of the application of the ziyadah method in memorizing the Qur'an at the Istiqomah Quran House, Lekoboddong, Pangkep Regency. The research uses a qualitative approach with a type of phenomenology. The subjects of the study include students, supervisors, and founders of institutions. Data was collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, then analyzed by data condensation techniques, data presentation, and inductive conclusions, and tested for validity through triangulation and member check. The results of the study show that the ziyadah method at the Istiqomah Quran House is understood as the gradual addition of new memorization which is always accompanied by old memorization muraja'ah, maintaining the quality of reading, and periodic evaluation. The implementation process takes place systematically through daily memorization targets, consistent muraja'ah, integration of old and new memorization, tasmi' evaluation, schedule consistency, and intensive assistance by ustadz. The application of the ziyadah method has a positive impact on increasing the number of memorization, reading quality, and the formation of religious attitudes and discipline of students. Thus, the ziyadah method has proven to be effective not only in improving memorization achievements, but also in shaping the character of the Qurani of students in a sustainable manner

Abstract

The rapid development of technology and globalization has contributed to the decline of empathy, love, and compassion in social life, including attitudes toward fellow human beings, animals, and the environment. This condition indicates that contemporary educational challenges are not limited to cognitive aspects but also involve a crisis of humanistic and ecological values. This study aims to examine the values of love and compassion contained in Hadith Al-Arba'in An-Nawawiyyah numbers 13, 17, and 31, and to analyze their relevance to the substance of the Love-Based Curriculum (KBC). This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach using library research methods, with Al-Arba'in An-Nawawiyyah by Imam An-Nawawi as the primary source. The findings reveal that these hadiths emphasize love for fellow human beings, compassion toward animals, concern for the natural environment (kauniyah values), and self-restraint from excessive attachment to worldly matters. These values are closely aligned with the substance and objectives of the Love-Based Curriculum, which positions love and compassion as the foundation of the educational process. Thus, the Love-Based Curriculum can be understood as an educational approach that integrates love, empathy, and socio-ecological awareness, whereby Islamic character education emerges as an implication of the internalization of these values. Hadith Al-Arba'in An-Nawawiyyah, particularly numbers 13, 17, and 31, is therefore relevant as a normative reference for developing humanistic, ethical, and sustainable education.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes in the educational landscape and religious practices, including in Islamic Religious Education (PAI). On the one hand, digitalization opens up opportunities to strengthen innovative and inclusive PAI learning, but on the other hand, it presents serious challenges in the form of the rapid flow of unverified religious information, the emergence of exclusive religious narratives, and the potential for the spread of intolerant and radical ideas in the digital space. This condition demands the strengthening of the value of religious moderation as a just, balanced, and tolerant principle of religion. This study aims to analyze the urgency of Islamic Religious Education management in strengthening the value of religious moderation in the digital era. This research uses a qualitative approach with the type of library research, through a critical study of the Qur'an, Hadith, policies of the Ministry of Religion, as well as scientific literature related to Islamic education management, religious moderation, and digitization of learning. Data analysis was carried out with a thematic, descriptive-contextual, and content analysis approach. The results of the study show that the main challenges of PAI in the digital era are not only technological, but also ideological and managerial. Strengthening PAI management, which includes planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising learning, has proven to have a strategic role in integrating the value of religious moderation systematically and sustainably. Effective PAI management allows Islamic education to function as an ideological bulwark against digital intolerance and radicalism, as well as a means of forming a moderate, inclusive, and social-peace-oriented religious character.

Abstract

Multiethnic society is a social reality inseparable from the life of the Indonesian nation and demands an educational approach that is sensitive to diversity. Islamic Religious Education (PAI) has a strategic role in instilling moderate, inclusive, and socially harmonious Islamic values. However, the implementation of the PAI curriculum so far has tended to be normative-doctrinal and has not fully accommodated multicultural values systematically. This study aims to examine and conceptualize a model for implementing a multicultural Islamic Religious Education curriculum in a multiethnic society. The research uses a qualitative approach with a type of library research through analysis of books, scientific journal articles, and relevant educational policy documents. Data were analyzed using content analysis techniques with stages of classification, reduction, interpretation, and conceptual synthesis. The results of the research show that the implementation of a multicultural PAI curriculum can be conceptualized through four main components, namely curriculum planning based on multicultural values, dialogical and participatory learning implementation, holistic evaluation including cognitive, affective, and behavioral aspects, and strengthening an inclusive educational culture. This conceptual model affirms that the multicultural PAI curriculum functions as an instrument of character education and social transformation that is relevant in building tolerant, moderate, and civilized attitudes in the midst of a multiethnic society. This research is expected to be a theoretical reference for the development and implementation of a PAI curriculum that is responsive to socio-cultural diversity.

Abstract

This study examines the role of professional ethics of religious counselors in preventing religious polarization and promoting moderate religious behavior within society. Employing a qualitative field research approach, the study was conducted in the working area of Islamic religious counselors in Tamalanrea District. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, involving religious counselors as key informants, supported by community leaders and assisted communities. Data analysis was carried out using qualitative techniques through data reduction, data presentation, and inductive conclusion drawing, with data validity ensured through source and method triangulation. The findings reveal that the consistent implementation of professional ethics such as honesty, objectivity, inclusivity, social responsibility, and respect for diversity serves as a fundamental foundation for religious counseling practices. Professional ethics enable religious counselors to deliver religious messages in a persuasive, dialogical, and contextual manner, thereby reducing exclusivist narratives and preventing the emergence of religious polarization. Moreover, ethical professionalism strengthens the role of religious counselors as moral exemplars, social mediators, and facilitators of intergroup dialogue, which significantly contributes to the internalization of moderate (wasathiyah) religious behavior. This study concludes that strengthening the professional ethics of religious counselors is a strategic necessity for maintaining religious harmony, reinforcing social cohesion, and enhancing socio-religious resilience in Indonesia’s plural and multicultural society.

Abstract

The young women’s organization “X” focuses on issues of gender equality, religion, society, and culture. Leadership plays a crucial role in ensuring the organization’s sustainability amid various internal and external challenges. This study aims to explore the practice of ethical leadership within Organization X in Jember Regency. A mixed-methods approach with a sequential explanatory design was employed. Quantitative data were collected through questionnaires containing open-ended questions to obtain an initial overview of the phenomenon, followed by qualitative data collection through in-depth interviews to deepen and clarify the findings. The participants in this study were branch-level leaders of Organization X. The findings indicate that leaders in Organization X are expected to consistently serve as moral role models, demonstrating alignment between their words and actions as representatives of the organization’s core values. In the dimension of care for others, leadership is perceived as a participatory process that actively involves members in decision-making and the implementation of organizational programs, reflecting principles of deliberation and empowerment. Meanwhile, in the dimension of accountability and compliance, leaders are required to adhere not only to organizational regulations but also to prevailing social norms within the broader community. These findings suggest that despite its strong and firm ideological foundation, Organization X demonstrates contextual flexibility in social engagement as part of its da‘wah strategy.

Abstract

Contemporary schools increasingly face serious challenges such as moral degradation among students, bullying, school violence, and declining learning motivation. These phenomena raise critical questions regarding the relevance of multicultural Islamic education, which has long been promoted as a framework for character building and tolerance. This study aims to critically analyze whether multicultural Islamic education remains relevant in addressing moral crisis, school violence, and student apathy. The research employs a qualitative approach using a library research design by analyzing scholarly literature related to multicultural Islamic education, character education, and contemporary student behavior. The findings reveal that while multicultural Islamic education offers strong normative values rooted in tolerance, inclusivity, and ethical awareness, its implementation often remains symbolic and procedural. This limitation weakens its capacity to respond effectively to students’ moral and behavioral problems. The study further finds that school violence and learning apathy indicate deeper educational failures caused by the disconnection between educational values and students’ lived experiences. The study concludes that multicultural Islamic education remains relevant only when reconstructed as a transformative educational paradigm that integrates relational pedagogy, contextual moral engagement, and value-based school culture. Such reconstruction enables multicultural Islamic education to function as a meaningful response to contemporary moral and social challenges in schools.

Abstract

Literacy in reading the Qur'an is the main challenge in Islamic religious education because there are still many students who are not able to read the Qur'an properly and correctly, so the tilawati method comes to answer this need. This study aims to analyze the influence of the tilawati method on Qur'an reading literacy. This study uses a quantitative approach with a type of correlational descriptive research involving 36 students as a research sample. Data were collected through a questionnaire of 16 items of the implementation of the tilawati method and 9 items of Qur'an reading literacy, then analyzed using descriptive statistics, simple correlation tests, and simple linear regression tests. The results of the correlation test showed a positive and significant relationship with (r=0.540**; sig. = 0.001 < 0.05), and the regression analysis also showed a positive and significant influence (sig. = 0.000 < 0.05) between the implementation of the tilawati method on Qur'anic literacy. Thus, inferential analysis shows that the implementation of the tilawati method has a positive influence and relationship, as well as significant on students' Qur'an reading literacy. These findings prove that the tilawati method contributes to improving students' Qur'an reading literacy and is relevant to be developed in learning Islamic religious education in schools.

Abstract

Salafiyah Baitul Kirom Islamic Boarding School, located in Mulyosari Village, Tanjungsari District, South Lampung Regency, Lampung Province, is an educational institution that contributes to shaping the younger generation through strong religious and moral values. However, the process of new student registration is still conducted conventionally through manual form completion and document submission via WhatsApp, resulting in inefficiency, time consumption, and a higher risk of administrative errors. This study aims to identify the problems in the existing new student registration process and to analyze the implementation of an online registration system as a solution to improve the admission process. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and then analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results show that the conventional registration system creates several obstacles, including slow administrative services, difficulties in data management, and limited access for prospective students living far from the boarding school. The implementation of an online registration system offers significant benefits in improving the efficiency, transparency, and accuracy of the registration process, while also reducing the administrative burden on the admission committee. In addition, the system facilitates better data management and provides easier access to information for prospective students. Therefore, the online registration system can serve as an effective solution to support the digital transformation of student admissions at Salafiyah Baitul Kirom Islamic Boarding School.
