Abstract

Ramadhan Islamic Boarding Schools is an important element in developing the religiosity and character of students in non-formal Islamic education. However, previous studies have focused more on the outcomes of the program rather than the educational space and management actors. This study is aimed at analyzing the implementation of Pesantren Ramadhan in Padang City, with an emphasis on the role of the mosque as the main educational space and the actors involved in managing the program. The research method used in this study was a mixed research method carried out during Ramadhan 1444 H/2023. The research subjects consisted of mosque administrators, parents, and students, who were purposively selected for the study. The study findings revealed that the mosque is considered the most appropriate educational space, as it offers a conducive environment for internalizing religious values and reinforcing students’ affinity for worshiping Allah. Second, the mosque serves as a central coordinating entity with collaborative support from schools, families, and communities, such that integrating these two concepts improves its effectiveness and sustainability. This study has contributed to the importance of synergy in developing mosque-based Islamic education.

Abstract

Improvements in the quality of Islamic education are influenced not only by the competence of educators, but also by the effectiveness of public sector human resource management and the governance of education carried out by government bureaucracies. However, studies that specifically examine the role of State Civil Apparatus (ASN) human resource management in strengthening the governance of Islamic education at the regional level are still relatively limited. This study aims to analyze ASN human resource management strategies in improving the quality of Islamic education in East Kotawaringin Regency using a structural-functional theory perspective. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects included ASN in the regional education office, madrasah principals, and teachers at Islamic educational institutions. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation studies, then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and thematic conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that civil servant human resource management contributes to improving the quality of Islamic education through three main strategies, namely developing teachers' professional competencies, strengthening educational institutional governance, and coordinating policies between local governments and Islamic educational institutions. Teacher training programs, school management strengthening, and institutional support are important factors in improving the professionalism of educators and the quality of learning. This study contributes to the study of education governance by showing that public sector human resource management functions as a mechanism for strengthening the institutional capacity of Islamic education at the regional level.

Abstract

The implementation of deep learning has become a strategic priority for improving the quality of teaching and learning. The success of deep learning implementation is strongly influenced by the readiness of school principals as instructional leaders. This study aims to describe school principals’ readiness to implement deep learning program using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings reveal that principals’ readiness is reflected in four core deep learning frameworks: pedagogical practices, learning environment, learning partnerships, and the use of digital technology. Principals demonstrate readiness through a clear understanding of deep learning concepts, support for teachers’ instructional innovation, the creation of collaborative learning environments, the strengthening of partnerships with parents and communities, and the integration of digital technology to support learning. However, challenges remain, particularly limited teachers’ digital competencies and insufficient cross-stakeholder collaboration. Principals’ readiness plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful implementation of deep learning and requires policy support, continuous professional development, and a strong learning ecosystem.

Abstract

In the midst of the humanitarian and socio-political crises that have plagued the contemporary era, such as moral degradation, ethical disorientation, and inequality, prophetic ethics offers a philosophical path that is founded on transcendental and humanistic values. The purpose of this article is to identify and analyze Musa Asy’arie’s thoughts on prophetic ethics education within the framework of existentialist theocentric anthropocentrism and its relevance in addressing the various crises that have plagued the contemporary era. The research method employed in this study is qualitative research that utilizes a descriptive-analytical approach. The descriptive-analytical approach is considered to be the most appropriate method to explore Musa Asy'arie's thoughts on prophetic ethics education and its actualization in the contemporary socio-political context. The primary data of this study were derived from the works of Musa Asy'arie. Meanwhile, the secondary data of this study were derived from books and other relevant sources that discussed the thoughts and intellectual contributions of Musa Asy'arie. The findings of this study revealed that Musa Asy'arie presents a prophetic ethics paradigm that is founded on divine and humanistic values. In this way, Musa’s theocentric existentialist perspective situates human beings as ethical agents, taking an active part in the establishment of justice, the promotion of spiritual values, and the realization of civilized social transformation. The present research makes a contribution to the enrichment of the Islamic philosophy debate in the present day, with its prophetic ethics model being contextual and relevant to the challenges of the time.

Abstract

Digital transformation of government has become a strategic agenda in efforts to improve the quality of governance and public services in Indonesia. Although infrastructure development and information technology utilization show positive trends, the implementation of digital government still faces structural challenges, particularly limitations in digital human resource capacity, fragmentation of inter-agency systems, and increasing cybersecurity risks. This study aims to map information technology service capabilities and analyze their relevance as enablers of good governance in the context of Government Technology (GovTech) implementation in Indonesia. The study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method of national policies, international agency reports, and relevant scientific publications. The results of the study show that the limitations of internal bureaucratic capacity make cooperation between the government and the private sector within the framework of Public Private Partnership (PPP) a crucial strategy. The development of the national information technology service ecosystem, particularly in managed services, cloud computing, system integration, and cybersecurity, provides structural support for strengthening digital government. Information technology service capabilities contribute significantly to improving administrative efficiency, system interoperability, data management transparency, and public service quality. This study confirms that information technology services are not merely supporting instruments, but rather strategic components in realizing adaptive, collaborative, and sustainable digital governance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and develop a model for implementing Good School Governance (GSG) to enhance the effectiveness of supervision in Islamic Religious Education. A quantitative approach with an explanatory design was employed. Data were collected via a questionnaire administered to 150 respondents, comprising Islamic Religious Education teachers, school principals, and supervisors in Sabangau Kuala Subdistrict, Pulang Pisau Regency. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results of the study indicate that all dimensions of GSG namely transparency, accountability, participation, responsibility, and independence, have a positive and significant effect on the effectiveness of PAI supervision. Accountability is the variable with the most dominant influence. The research model exhibits strong explanatory power with an R-square value of 0.682, indicating that GSG accounts for the majority of the variation in supervisory effectiveness. These findings confirm that integrating the principles of good school governance into the supervisory system can enhance the quality of planning, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up of supervision on an ongoing basis. Theoretically, this study enriches the body of research on Islamic education management based on governance. Practically, this study provides recommendations for policymakers to optimize GSG-based supervision. This study recommends the development of further studies with a broader geographical scope and a mixed-methods approach to obtain more comprehensive results.

Abstract

This study examines the contribution of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in shaping students’ spiritual character through the implementation of congregational Friday prayers at SMK Negeri 3 Pacitan. The objective of this research is to describe the roles carried out by PAI teachers and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors of the program. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, involving the principal, PAI teachers, and students selected through purposive sampling techniques. The findings reveal that PAI teachers play roles as educators, leaders, motivators, facilitators, and supervisors, with their supervisory and leadership roles being the most effective in improving students’ discipline and awareness. Supporting factors include adequate school facilities, teacher motivation, and parental support, while the main obstacle is the low level of student awareness, leading some students to neglect participation in Friday prayers. The Friday prayer program has proven effective in instilling Islamic values such as discipline, responsibility, and a sense of togetherness, while also contributing to the development of students’ positive character. This study highlights the significance of the role of PAI teachers in fostering spiritual character through a comprehensive approach and consistent supervision, offering a model that can be applied in other educational institutions.

Abstract

The development of 21st-century education demands learning that is not solely oriented toward the transmission of knowledge, but also toward the development of higher-order thinking skills integrated with the social dynamics of students. In educational psychology, cognitive development theory and sociocultural theory are often positioned dichotomously: internal structure versus social mediation. This article aims to formulate a theoretical synthesis that integrates these two perspectives into a complementary and operational developmental model. The research employed a qualitative approach with library research. Data were obtained from primary works and relevant, reputable scientific literature, then analyzed using content analysis and comparative-critical analysis techniques to identify epistemological assumptions, common ground, and limitations of each theory. The results indicate that the structure of cognitive development serves as an indicator of epistemic readiness to learn, while the Zone of Proximal Development acts as an acceleration mechanism through social mediation and adaptive scaffolding. This synthesis yields a dynamic and cyclical Integrative Model of Cognitive-Social Development, in which social interactions encourage cognitive restructuring and shape new readiness at a higher level.
