Abstract

Postpartum blues, also known as baby blues, is a common emotional condition experienced by mothers after childbirth. If not properly addressed, it can significantly affect the mother's mental health and overall family well-being. Limited awareness of postpartum blues, particularly in Nambo Village, Kendari City, has driven the implementation of this community service initiative. The objective was to improve pregnant women’s understanding of the symptoms, causes, as well as strategies to manage and prevent postpartum blues. The activity was conducted on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the Nambo Village Hall, involving a team of lecturers from the Faculty of Medicine, Halu Oleo University. The methods used included interactive counseling, group discussions, simulations, and the distribution of educational materials. A total of 25 pregnant women participated in the program. Evaluation was carried out using pre-test and post-test assessments to measure the increase in participants' knowledge. Results indicated an 85% improvement in participants' understanding after the counseling session. This initiative successfully raised awareness and enhanced the understanding of pregnant women about postpartum blues, while also encouraging openness in discussing mental health issues. The intervention demonstrated that community-based education can serve as a strategic approach to improving maternal and family health quality. Moving forward, follow-up programs are needed to strengthen and sustain the positive impacts achieved through this activity.

Abstract

This study explores the modernization of regional financial management in Tojo Una-Una Regency as a strategic initiative to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in governance. The Regional Government Information System (SIPD), particularly the Accounting and Reporting (AKLAP) module, has been implemented since 2022 to support accrual-based financial reporting in compliance with government accounting standards. Despite its potential, several challenges remain, including a lack of skilled human resources and insufficient technical training for system operators, which hinder effective integration and reporting accuracy. Using a descriptive qualitative method with an inductive approach, this study draws on interviews and observations to identify barriers and propose optimization strategies. Findings reveal that unequal access to technology across Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) and limited operator competence are significant obstacles. To address these issues, the study recommends intensive training for SIPD operators and enhanced technological infrastructure at the OPD level. These measures aim to improve the quality and reliability of financial management, advancing a more transparent and accountable system. This research contributes novel insights into overcoming practical challenges in regional financial management, offering actionable strategies for similar contexts.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the skills of the 3R Waste Management Site (Recycle, Reuse, Reduce) management group in the mangrove ecotourism area of Oesapa Beach, Kupang, NTT. This TPS was built through collaboration between the government and local communities, aiming to manage waste and support economic improvement through organic fertilizer production. However, there are obstacles in the marketing of these organic fertilizers, including unattractive packaging and limited sales points in tourist areas. This service method consists of several stages: preparation, implementation, evaluation, and reporting. At the preparation stage, partner problems are identified. The implementation stage includes training on packaging fertilizer products that are neater and more attractive and marketing strategies in tourist areas, which are delivered through workshops and hands-on practice. The evaluation was carried out by comparing the condition of the partners before and after the training. The results of the activity showed an increase in skills in product packaging and the ability to design more effective marketing strategies, which can be seen from the increase in consumer interest in organic fertilizer products. The positive impact of this activity is expected to support the sustainability of the 3R TPS management group's business and contribute to environmental and economic preservation of the local community through more optimal waste management.

Abstract

One village located in Toapaya District, Bintan Regency, Province of Riau is called South Toapaya Village. With a total area of 90.18 km2, South Toapaya Village is home to approximately 6,000 people. The most common condition mentioned is hypertension. The number of elderly is expected to increase to 1.5 million by 2050. As the number of elderly health problems continue to rise, one of the main issues is hypertension, which is the first illness to appear in elderly. Patients and their families frequently treat hypertension, therefore they continue to use the health facilities when problems arise. This requires cooperation from all parties, including family members and the elderly cadre posyandu. This cadre's presence is necessary for the general public's elderly health. The limited number of cadres in the community will harm health care, especially in Asia. In addition to the benefits of lansia posyandu, the number of kaders must also be taken into consideration so that lansia health communication may be effectively monitored. As of right now, role cadres have been carried out globally. Kader is referred to by the WHO as a community health worker. According to WHO, kader is a group of people who live in a particular region and provide health services to the local population. Even though kader is not a professional health care provider, he has formal education and training so that he can assist health care providers in carrying out specific tasks in the community's daily activities, such as posyandu elderly. As stated, cadre is not a key component in promoting health, but cadres and health workers are important steps in enhancing the general public's health. Elderly cadre is the spearak that is most closely related to elderly. Because cadre that is more frequently sentient to the elderly through posyandu elderly, the role of elderly cadres is very large. In this community service program, the service team focuses on forming new posyandu cadres and providing blood pressure measurement training. This training is expected to help cadres in improving the health of the elderly and knowing about hypertension in general.
