Abstract

Land is a fundamental element with economic and social dimensions that are often a source of conflict due to the imbalance between the rule of positive Law (law in books) and practice in society (law in action). In Suka Makmur Village, low legal literacy and a strong tradition of underhand transactions create legal vulnerabilities and make land a "dead capital" (dead capital). This activity aims to increase public understanding of the importance of land certification through the complete systematic land registration (PTSL) program and provide basic skills in non-litigation dispute resolution. The implementation uses a participatory approach that combines normative and sociological aspects through three stages: (1) observation and identification of conflict typology; (2) socialization and legal education; and (3) Discussion and clinical consultation in the form of surgical cases of citizens ' land documents. It was found that the dominant conflicts in the village were boundary disputes and inheritance disputes. This activity succeeded in changing the public's perception of land certification, which was originally considered expensive, into an economical preventive measure. Prevention is carried out through strengthening the understanding of the principle of Contradictoire Delimitatie (mutual delimitation), while dispute resolution is directed at village mediation mechanisms that are seen as more humanistic and effective in maintaining social cohesion than litigation channels. The synergy between citizens ' legal awareness, Village Administrative Order, and the use of government programs (PTSL) is the main key in mitigating and resolving land disputes in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Breast cancer remains one of the leading global public health problems and continues to contribute significantly to morbidity and mortality among women worldwide. The increasing incidence of breast cancer in Southeast Asia highlights the importance of strengthening preventive education and health literacy among adolescents. This community service program aimed to improve adolescents’ awareness and understanding of early breast cancer prevention through the use of Timun Mas folklore-based educational comics at Sekolah Rendah Islam I Musleh. The program employed a participatory educational approach involving upper elementary school students aged 11–12 years old. Activities were conducted through four stages: preparation, educational intervention, participatory interactive activities, and evaluation. Educational sessions combined interactive counseling, comic reading, group discussions, educational games, and reflective activities. The educational comics integrated health messages regarding healthy lifestyles, body awareness, reproductive health literacy, and the use of herbal plants such as temulawak, moringa leaves, and lemon within culturally familiar folklore narratives. The results demonstrated high participant enthusiasm and active engagement throughout the activities. Participants showed strong interest in the visual storytelling approach, which facilitated better understanding of health messages compared to conventional lecture-based methods. Positive feedback from school representatives indicated that the comics were attractive, communicative, and appropriate for elementary school students, while also highlighting the novelty of the educational media within the school environment. Furthermore, the availability of multimedia facilities at the school provides opportunities for future development of digital interactive comics and augmented reality (AR)-based educational media. Overall, the program demonstrated that folklore-based comics can serve as innovative, culturally responsive, and engaging health promotion media for adolescent breast cancer prevention education.

Abstract

Border Land Management in coastal areas often presents juridical and social problems, including in Dembe I Village, Gorontalo City. Communities in this region face uncertainty about the legal status of the boundary land they occupy, although some have pocketed title certificates. The lack of legal understanding, the absence of village mediation institutions, and overlapping land administration add to the complexity of the problem. The thematic real work lecture (KKN) Program Phase II of Gorontalo State University was implemented to respond to these problems through a participatory and collaborative approach. The methods taken include legal counseling with the National Land Agency and the Faculty of law, citizen dialogue forums, participatory mapping, and the preparation of operational standards for land mediation procedures. The results of the activity showed an increase in Community Legal Literacy, the birth of critical awareness about the differences in formal rights and functions of space, as well as the drafting of mediation SOP documents as a local instrument for non-litigation dispute resolution. The conclusion of this activity confirms that the law can be presented in a communicative way to bridge the interests of the state in maintaining protected areas with the rights of communities in maintaining living space. This finding also implies that the model of service based on participatory legal education can be replicated in other coastal areas facing similar problems

Abstract

The implementation of the Posyandu Balita (Integrated Health Services for Toddlers) and Posbindu Lansia (Integrated Health Services for the Elderly) in Padukuhan Bintaos, Sidoharjo, Tepus, Gunung Kidul, as part of a community service program during the Community Service Program (KKN), aimed to improve community health and welfare through integrated health services. The program included routine health check-ups, monitoring of toddlers' growth and development, nutritional education, promotion of a healthy lifestyle, and prevention of non-communicable diseases among the elderly. Activities were conducted using a participatory approach, involving local health cadres to ensure program sustainability. Post-program surveys and evaluations indicated increased community awareness of the importance of preventive healthcare, with participation rates of toddlers and elderly individuals reaching 85% of the target population. Posyandu Balita effectively identified and addressed early growth and development issues, while Posbindu Lansia improved elderly access to healthcare services. The program's success factors included collaboration with health cadres and educational approaches tailored to local community needs. These results suggest that consistent implementation of Posyandu Balita and Posbindu Lansia can serve as a strategic solution to enhance the quality of life in rural communities. However, challenges such as limited healthcare facilities and the need to improve cadre competencies must be addressed to optimize future implementations.

Abstract

Efficient internal communication is essential for educational institutions to support daily operations. This study aims to implement an IP Phone system using VoIP technology as a more flexible and cost-effective alternative to conventional phones. The system was chosen for its ability to utilize existing networks without complex installation. Implementation at Universitas Nusa Putra showed stable, seamless communication across departments and wider coverage. The results indicate that VoIP-based IP Phone systems can serve as a modern, efficient communication solution in campus environments.

Abstract

Segorogunung Village is one of the villages in Ngargoyoso District with considerable plantation potential. Plantation activities generate abundant organic waste; however, most residents still manage waste through open burning. This practice may cause negative environmental and health impacts, thus requiring more sustainable waste management alternatives. This community service program aimed to improve community understanding of organic waste management through the KOMPAK Program (Kompos Organik Masyarakat Produktif dan Berkelanjutan) as an effort to strengthen the ecovillage concept in Segorogunung Village. The activity was conducted on April 20, 2026, at the Segorogunung Village Hall involving local residents, Geography Education students of Universitas Sebelas Maret, the Segorogunung Village Government, and the Environmental Agency of Karanganyar Regency. The methods employed included observation, lectures, discussions, and compost-making demonstrations. Observation results indicated that plantation land use dominates the village economy and produces a significant amount of organic waste. Through socialization and practical composting activities, participants gained knowledge regarding the utilization of organic waste as useful compost fertilizer. The KOMPAK Program represents a community-based environmental management initiative that contributes not only to waste reduction but also to the sustainability of agricultural and plantation activities in Segorogunung Village.

Abstract

Orphanage adolescents face various developmental challenges that require strong adaptive skills. One skill that plays a crucial role in overcoming these difficulties is resilience. This community service activity aims to enhance adolescents’ knowledge and belief regarding resilience through psychoeducation focused on optimism and self-efficacy. The activity was conducted with nine adolescents at the AK Orphanage using methods such as lectures, group discussions, positive self-talk, case studies, and role-playing. Evaluation was carried out using a one-group pretest-posttest design with instruments measuring knowledge of resilience and belief in facing challenges. The results showed that the average knowledge score increased from 28.89 to 43.33, while the average belief score increased from 29.67 to 38.89. The results of the paired sample t-test indicated that the increases in both aspects were statistically significant (p < 0.001). These findings suggest that resilience psychoeducation can help improve adolescents’ knowledge and belief in facing various daily life challenge

Abstract

Financial literacy is a crucial competency for students to support their personal financial management skills and prepare them for the workplace and entrepreneurship. However, students still lack understanding of the basic concepts of financial management and the preparation of simple financial reports. Therefore, this community service activity aims to improve students' understanding of financial literacy and skills in preparing simple financial reports at SMKN 11 Bandung. The activity was implemented through an educational and participatory approach, including material delivery, interactive discussions, practical training in preparing simple financial reports, and direct mentoring for participants. The material provided included an introduction to financial literacy, income and expense management, the importance of financial planning, and techniques for preparing simple financial reports, including transaction recording, income and expense reports, and simple profit and loss statements. The results of the activity demonstrated an increase in participants' understanding of the concept of financial literacy and their ability to systematically prepare simple financial reports. Participants also demonstrated high enthusiasm throughout the training and mentoring process. Thus, this activity positively contributed to improving students' financial competency, preparing them to face future economic challenges, and supported the development of an entrepreneurial spirit within the school environment. Abstract

The transformation of children's education through the utilization of information technology has become a significant phenomenon in the development of education in the digital era. The lack of technological understanding and the limited information technology instruction provided by schools represent increasingly pressing issues in this digital age. In an environment where technology is progressively integrated into daily life, children with limited technological knowledge may face disparities in access to information, educational opportunities, and the capacity to participate in an increasingly digitally connected society. To address this, it is essential to enhance digital competencies for both teachers and students through educational programs and technology training.  The implementation methods used in this activity are the lecture method for delivering basic concepts and information technology theory, the demonstration method to show the operation of applications directly, and the hands-on practice method. The results of the activity indicate a significant improvement in digital competence, both in terms of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in operating software and utilizing technology for learning and self-development needs.

Abstract

This community engagement program aims to introduce English vocabulary to kindergarten students by using songs and singing as an enjoyable learning method. This activity was initiated to foster an interactive and enjoyable learning atmosphere for early childhood learners. Singing was selected as the instructional method because songs can increase young EFL learners’ motivation and encourage their active participation in English learning. The singing-based method was implemented through nine stages, namely: (1) identification of the learning theme, (2) song planning, (3) preparation of learning media, (4) opening activity, (5) vocabulary introduction, (6) main singing-based activity, (7) vocabulary reinforcement, (8) simple evaluation, and (9) closing activity. The vocabulary introduction activity employed a singing-based approach using modified lyrics adapted from the song My Finger Family. The lyrics were modified to the learning theme, My Needs, and accompanied by simple gestures to facilitate natural vocabulary acquisition among young learners. The findings of this activity indicated improvements in children’s ability to retain new vocabulary, increased enthusiasm for learning, and higher levels of active participation in group singing activities. The results further suggest that the implementation of the singing-based method is effective in sustaining children's attention and fostering a positive and engaging learning atmosphere. Overall, the activity confirmed that the singing-based method is an effective, engaging, and age-appropriate instructional approach for enhancing children's acquisition of basic English vocabulary. The program is recommended for sustained integration into daily classroom activities in kindergarten settings to support children's English vocabulary development.
