Abstract

The family is the smallest social unit and serves as a fundamental foundation for shaping individual character and values within society. Ideally, family relationships should foster balanced and equitable interactions among members. However, various forms of gender inequality continue to persist in family life. These inequities are reflected in unequal role distribution, limited involvement of women in decision-making, disproportionate domestic workloads, and the occurrence of gender-based violence. This study aims to identify and analyze manifestations of gender inequality in family relations and to explore strategic efforts to promote equality. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and a literature study method, the research examines academic literature, legal documents, and previous studies through the lens of gender perspectives and family sociology. The findings reveal five major forms of gender inequality—marginalization, subordination, stereotyping, violence, and excessive workload—all of which have systemic impacts on the well-being of family members, particularly women and children. To address these issues, it is essential to deepen understanding of gender concepts, ensure fair distribution of household responsibilities, promote shared decision-making, and practice transparent financial management. Achieving gender equality within the family not only supports healthy emotional and social development of individuals but also contributes to building an inclusive, harmonious, and gender-just society.

Abstract

This research analyzes the dynamics of care relationships and caregiving burden in extended families as represented in the film 1 Kakak 7 Ponakan directed by Yandy Laurens. The 129 minute film tells the story of Moko, an architecture student who must become the sole caregiver for his seven nieces and nephews after his sister and brother in law pass away, abandoning his dream of pursuing a master's degree at Columbia University. This study employs Cognitive Discourse Analysis (Van Dijk) integrated with care ethics (Gilligan, Noddings, Tronto) and pedagogical philosophy (Freire, Biesta) to explore mental models shaping caregiving discourse. Findings reveal three key aspects: (1) transformation from natural caring to ethical caring involving moral conflicts between personal aspirations and family responsibilities; (2) tension between justice ethics emphasizing fair distribution of responsibilities and care ethics prioritizing relationships and contextual responsiveness; (3) construction of caregiving mental models as obligatory pedagogy learned through direct experience and critical reflection. Laurens' slow-burn directorial approach presents emotional complexity through expressive close-ups and visual compositions reflecting family dynamics. This research contributes to integrating three analytical frameworks and provides practical implications for family caregiver support policies in Indonesia, including formal recognition of informal caregiving burden, culturally sensitive intervention programs, and moral education integrating care values.

Abstract

Globalization and advances in information technology have brought significant changes to the world of education, including Islamic education. Rapid modernization demands that Islamic educational systems adapt while preserving their core Islamic values. This study aims to analyze the process of Islamization of knowledge within the context of globalization and to examine the role of Integrated Islamic Schools (Sekolah Islam Terpadu/SIT) as an educational model that integrates general and religious knowledge. Employing a qualitative approach through library research, this study reviews relevant literature on the Islamization of knowledge, the history of Islamic education, and the development of the SIT model in Indonesia. The findings indicate that Integrated Islamic Schools emerged as a response to the long-standing dualism between religious and general education. The SIT model integrates the national curriculum with Islamic values through contextual, dialogic, and character-based learning approaches. Consequently, the Islamization of knowledge in the era of globalization can be realized through an educational design grounded in tauhid, oriented toward character formation, and adaptive to technological advancements

Abstract

Globalization has become an inevitable phenomenon in the modern era. Advancements in information and communication technology, increased human mobility, and intensive cross-cultural interactions have ushered the world into a period of openness and rapid transformation. Islamic education, as a crucial element in shaping the character and identity of the Muslim community, is likewise affected by these global dynamics. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method to analyze the impact of globalization on Islamic education. Data were collected through a literature review of scientific journals, books, and relevant articles published within the last five years. This approach aims to understand the phenomenon of globalization within the context of Islamic education and to identify the challenges and opportunities it presents. The collected data were thematically analyzed to provide a comprehensive overview of globalization’s influence on Islamic education and potential solutions to address emerging issues. The findings indicate that the Islamization and integration of knowledge, along with the utilization of modern technology, play significant roles in the development of Islamic education in the contemporary era. Islamization and integration efforts seek to harmonize scientific knowledge with Islamic spiritual and moral values, resulting in a holistic curriculum that combines religious studies with science and technology. Meanwhile, technologies such as e-learning platforms, artificial intelligence (AI), and digitalization of the Qur’an and Hadith enhance accessibility and efficiency in Islamic learning. Challenges—including technological dependence and low digital literacy—must be addressed through strengthening Islamic identity, improving educators’ competencies, and ensuring proper content supervision. With an appropriate approach, Islamic education can remain relevant, inclusive, and adaptive without compromising its spiritual foundations.

Abstract

Peatland characteristics are an important consideration in land management for agricultural development. As peat depth increases, nutrient availability and microbial activity tend to decline, while soil acidity (pH) increases. Thicker peat layers therefore have a significant influence on soil fertility. Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.), originating from Nigeria in West Africa, is widely cultivated in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Papua New Guinea. Oil palm plays a strategic role in national plantation development by creating employment opportunities, improving community welfare, and contributing substantially to national foreign exchange earnings, with Indonesia being one of the world’s major palm oil producers. This study was conducted at an oil palm plantation in Sungai Tawar Village, Geragai Subdistrict, East Tanjung Jabung Regency. The research was carried out over four months during 2024–2025. Soil analyses were performed at the Soil Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Jambi. The study used a survey method with purposive random sampling. Observed parameters included groundwater table depth, soil organic carbon (C-organic), peat depth, macronutrient content (N, P, and K), and peat maturity. Observations were conducted on oil palm stands aged 11 and 16 years, with ten soil sampling replications for each plant age. Data interpretation to identify differences in soil depth and NPK content between oil palm ages was conducted using an independent t-test for C-organic content, N, P, and K levels, groundwater table depth, peat thickness, and peat maturity. The relationship between C-organic content and NPK was analyzed using simple linear regression. Results showed strong correlations between peat layer depth, groundwater level, and nitrogen availability, as well as between soil C-organic content and total nitrogen, available phosphorus, and total potassium across different oil palm ages.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic education as a central force in preserving, revitalizing, and developing Islamic scholarly traditions and establishing solid educational institutions. This study is driven by observations of socio-cultural dynamics in which Islamic education functions not only as a means of transmitting religious knowledge, but also as an agent of civilization (development) that is relevant to contemporary challenges. The methods used are literature study and qualitative analysis, tracing the history, philosophy, and practices of Islamic education in various settings, ranging from traditional Islamic boarding schools/madrasas to modern Islamic universities. The main focus is to identify how the curriculum, teaching methods, and institutional environment of Islamic education contribute to the transmission of values (morals), thought (philosophy), and practice (fiqh/amaliah) that are the pillars of Islamic civilization and the development of institutions that adapt structurally and managerially to remain relevant, accountable, and competitive in the era of globalization. The results of the study show that the success of developing traditions and institutions is highly dependent on the ability of Islamic education to maintain a balance between asalah (authenticity/tradition) and mu'asarah (contemporaneity/innovation). Successful institutions are those that integrate the strengthening of scientific traditions with the adoption of modern management, thereby producing graduates who possess both spiritual and scientific depth as well as the professional competencies needed by society.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of hedging strategies as an optimal risk management approach in Islamic banking institutions in Indonesia. Facing global economic volatility and currency fluctuations, Islamic banks are required to adopt risk management policies that are not only financially effective but also compliant with Sharia principles. This research employs a qualitative approach using library research methods by reviewing academic literature, DSN-MUI fatwas. The findings reveal that internal factors such as liquidity, leverage, firm size, and financial condition significantly influence the decision to apply hedging within Islamic banks. Meanwhile, external factors—including government policies, regulatory changes, and global market dynamics—further reinforce the necessity of risk management strategies grounded in justice and sustainability. The implementation of Sharia-based hedging is proven to enhance financial stability, strengthen public trust, and improve the competitiveness of the Islamic financial industry at both national and international levels. This study contributes theoretically and practically to the development of innovative, ethical, and sustainable Sharia-compliant financial instruments

Abstract

Cases of default leading to the suspension of shares of state-owned enterprise (SOE) issuers reveal structural problems in corporate governance and in the implementation of disclosure obligations in the Indonesian capital market. This study aims to analyze the accountability of SOE issuers’ corporate governance, the forms of legal liability arising from default, and the effectiveness of investor protection mechanisms when trading suspensions are imposed. Using a normative legal research method with statutory, conceptual, and case-based approaches, this study examines empirical data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) and the Financial Services Authority (OJK) from 2020 to 2024, including the cases of Garuda Indonesia, Waskita Karya, and several construction-sector issuers experiencing liquidity pressure and default risk. The findings indicate that defaults among SOE issuers are not incidental events but represent a pattern of systemic risk influenced by high leverage, moral hazard arising from implicit state guarantees, and weak supervisory functions of corporate organs. Share suspension as a market protection instrument has proven ineffective, as it is not accompanied by early risk detection mechanisms and fails to provide substantive recovery for investors. Although Articles 80 and 90 of the Capital Market Law provide a legal basis for investor claims, legal protection remains weak due to its reliance on disclosure-based regimes without guaranteed compensation. This study concludes that strengthening SOE accountability, reforming risk-based supervisory frameworks, and restructuring share suspension regulations are essential to enhance capital market integrity and ensure more effective investor protection.
