Abstract

This research is motivated by the difference in the average score of the National Examination on geography subjects at State Senior High Schools in Banjarmasin City in 2018/2019 with successively experiencing the lowest scores with less criteria, namely in SMA Negeri 11 Banjarmasin, SMA Negeri 12 Banjarmasin and SMA Negeri 10 Banjarmasin. This study aims to analyze the internal factors that influence the geography learning difficulties of State Senior High School students in Banjarmasin City, analyze the external factors that influence the geography learning difficulties of State Senior High School students in Banjarmasin City and analyze the dominant factors in influencing the geography learning difficulties of State Senior High School students in Banjarmasin City. This research used a descriptive-quantitative method. The data analysis technique used percentages. The results showed that the percentage of internal factors consisting of health factors (32%), interests (22%), motivation (21%) and study habits (67%), external factors consisting of family factors (40%), school ( 10%) and society (61%) and the most dominant factor influencing the difficulty of learning geography for State Senior High School students in Banjarmasin City is the internal factor, namely study habits (67%).

Abstract

Studying history in social studies subjects for most students is boring, this is because according to them there is a lack or lack of variety of learning methods that can attract students' interest in studying history. For most students, the method used by the teacher is only lectures. So it makes students bored. This study analyzes the impact of using the edutainment method as the application of the method in history learning. This method focuses on the end result of the learning process. Thus, this study aims to see how much influence the use of edutainment methods has on students in history material. This research method uses a quantitative type, with data collection in the form of student learning outcomes data, such as questionnaires and student opinions. Meanwhile, the research population was students of class VIII B and VIII D MTs Al-Hilal Tegalgubug. The results of this study include the results of descriptive statistical analysis, the average value of students on historical material with the edutainment method is 86.43. In testing the response to the use of the edutainment method, it shows a good number, namely 82%. Based on these two opportunities, it can be concluded that the edutainment method is effective in improving the history learning outcomes of class VIII B and D students of MTs Al-Hillal Tegalgubug Arjawinangun. The conclusion of this research is that there is a significant effect between the application of the edutainment method on student learning outcomes. Keywords: Edutainment method, social studies learning, history learning

Abstract

The low level of student activity in Social Studies Education courses is a problem for students' ability to interact well with fellow students, lecturers and learning resources. This condition requires the application of an effective learning model to increase student learning activity in the classroom. This study answered two research questions, namely how student learning activities in Social Studies Education courses use Make a Match cooperative learning and how to apply Make a Match cooperative learning models in increasing student learning activities in Social Studies Education for Elementary School courses. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subjects of this study were the fifth semester students of Class C of the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program who attended the Social Studies Education for Elementary School course as many as 47 students. Research data were collected through observation. The data analysis technique used was descriptive analysis. The results showed that (1) the dominant aspects of learning activities in Social Studies Education courses with the Make a Match type cooperative learning model were aspects of group interaction and aspects of answering questions; and (2) Social Studies Education for Elementary School courses with the Make a Match type cooperative learning model can increase student learning activities, the indications are that the percentage score of student learning activities is above 70 (78.72%).

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis faktor yang mempengaruhi kunjungan wisatawan di Objek Wisata Air Terjun Lano Kecamatan Jaro Kabupaten Tabalong. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah pengunjung Objek Wisata Air Terjun Lano. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 382 orang, dengan teknik pengambilan sampel, yaitu accidental sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis uji chi square. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada 3 faktor yang mempengaruhi kunjungan wisatawan di Objek Wisata Air Terjun Lano, yaitu: faktor biaya perjalanan, faktor lama perjalanan, dan faktor fasilitas. Hasil analisis chi square menunjukkan bahwa variabel Pendapatan (X1) memiliki nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,608 (0,608 > 0,05) dan nilai Chitung 0,264 < Ctabel 3,84146. Biaya Perjalanan (X2) memiliki nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,019 (0,019 < 0,05) dan nilai Chitung 5,460 > Ctabel 3,8414. Lama Perjalanan (X3) memiliki nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (0,000 < 0,05) dan nilai Chitung 24,250 > Ctabel 3,84146, serta Fasilitas (X4) memiliki nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,008 (0,008 < 0,05) dan nilai Chitung 7,062 > Ctabel 3,84146. Abstract

Meaningful social studies learning needs to be explored through the culture surrounding students. The Sungai Jelai Basirih Selatan community has cultural values that are important as a source of social studies learning. The purpose of this article is to identify the cultural values that exist in the Sungai Jelai Basirih Selatan community and the contribution of these cultural values as a source of social studies learning. The method used was a qualitative approach. To collect the data, this research used observations, interviews, and documentation. To analyze the data, this research used the Miles and Huberman model, namely data reduction, data presentation, and data verification, while the validity of the data used triangulation. The results showed that identifying cultural values in the Sungai Jelai Basirih Selatan community was related to the pattern of daily community relations that had positive values. These values consist of religious values, hard work values, and mutual cooperation values. The various values obtained are integrated into teaching materials as social studies learning resources. Abstract

The conventional Social Education learning process at SMPN 2 Ponorogo resulted in students not being interested in participating in learning activities. As a result, student learning outcomes are low, and students inability to think at higher levels. This study aims to (1) determine the application of PBL (Problem Based Learning) learning oriented to HOTS for Social subjects in class VII C SMPN 2 Ponorogo (2) find out the improvement of Social Education learning outcomes in class VIII C SMPN 2 PONOROGO using the PBL (Problem Based Learning) oriented to HOTS (Higher Other Thinking skills). This study used the Class Action Research model by Kemmis and Mc. Taggart, which consists of two cycles. The subjects of this study consisted of 32 students of class VIII C SMPN 2 Ponorogo. The results showed that (1) the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model oriented to Higher Other Thinking Skills (HOTS) contained three activities, namely: initial, core, and closing. The teacher sets the cognitive domain C4 (Analyzing) as the observed Higher Other Thinking Skill (HOTS). The results from cycle I to cycle II on the ability of C4 (analyzing) with categories of distinguishing, organizing, and attributing there was an increase. (2) There was an increase in learning outcomes in the second cycle of students who completed by 87%. The Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model oriented to Higher Other Thinking Skills (HOTS) improved Social Education learning outcomes.Keywords:  Problem Based Learning, Higher Order Thinking Skills, learning outcomes, social studies education learning

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of teaching materials based on local wisdom in elementary schools. The purpose of this study was to develop teaching materials in the form of thematic modules based on local wisdom about the uniqueness of the Gunungkidul Regency area that was suitable for fourth-grade elementary school students. This research used Research and Development (R&D). This research procedure used the ADDIE model, namely analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate. The subjects of this study were experts, teachers, and four-grade elementary school students. This research used interview guidelines, expert validation questionnaires, and response questionnaires obtained from teachers and students. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and questionnaires. This research used qualitative and quantitative techniques to analyze the data. Expert assessment results showed that the modul is considered appropriate to be tested in which this decision is previously proven by the validation from the instructional media expert and thematic learning expert. The validation score from the instructional media expert is 3,00 (good category). The validation score for thematic learning expert is 3,36 (very good category). The average score of teachers’ questionnaire responses is 3,66 (very good category). The average score of the limited trial is 3,48 (very good category). The implication of this research is the need to disseminate the idea of using local wisdom for social studies learning resources.Keywords: teching materials, thematic modul, local wisdom

Abstract

Gold mining is carried out illegally by the community to meet their daily needs. The purpose of this study is to (1) describe the division of tasks in gold mining work without a permit (illegal); (2) Describe the distribution of income in gold mining work without a permit (illegal); (3) Describe the impact of gold mining work without a permit (illegal) for the socio-economic conditions in the community. This study used a qualitative method. This study also used a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was done by using observation, interviews, and documentation. This study used reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions to analyze the data. The results of this study indicated that: (1) The division of tasks in this illegal gold mining job was done by dividing them according to what is mastered by each worker, but there are also those who did not hold divisions in doing the work or working as a team. (2) The distribution of income in this job was divided based on the number of workers. The results obtained were deducted by the operational costs first, and then the remainder is divided equally among the workers and machines. (3) This work has an impact, namely: a) Social impact, namely in this work it always opens job opportunities for those who want to work. b) The economic impact can meet the needs of the economy but the income obtained is not always fixed. Abstract

Every day, the economic problems that exist in society are always changing. Meanwhile, solving it requires the ability to think analytically. Observations at school showed that the value of the analytical thinking ability of X IPS 5 students can be said to be low. One of the reasons is that students often only get questions up to the cognitive aspect, not the analytical aspect. So far, the average economic teachers at SMA Negeri 1 Lawang still teach by lecturing, whilst daily economic problems are only conveyed orally. As the result, many students still have difficulty understanding the contextual problems. Therefore, in this study, the Student Worksheet (LKS) was used as a medium to assist students in analyzing a concept with facts. This study used a guided discovery learning method as a learning method. This study used Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists of two cycles with two meetings. The purpose of this study was to improve students' analytical thinking skills using Student Worksheets (LKS) with the guided discovery learning method. Data collection was carried out using an analytical thinking ability test. The results showed that the economic worksheets using the guided discovery learning model improved students' analytical thinking skills with an average score of 76.11 in the first cycle and an increase in the average score of 81.1 in the second cycle. Abstract

Individual dualism has become a symptom of a society in the 21st century, with all its excesses, including materialism and selfishness, which are present at all levels of society. 21st-century teachers have a different role from conventional teachers, where they act as facilitators, collaborators, mediators, and motivators in learning and teaching activities with effective and fun learning targets that require abilities that are influenced by knowledge, training, and experience. The era of disruption makes a form of play that leads to selfishness, including through gadgets, so there are limitations in interacting directly with peers. Therefore, the teacher strives to encourage sharing skills as a form of skill to students so that they can receive and give to others who are instilled in the early to late class so that it affects the ongoing interaction. This study used Slavin Theory, about efforts to increase social contact among students to achieve goals and the role of teachers in learning and teaching activities. This study used qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach.Keywords: Teacher’s role, sharing, era of disruption
