Al-Mikraj: Jurnal Kajian Islam dan Humaniora Indonesia. Jurnal ini membahas tentang Studi Islam dan Humaniora. Ilmu sosial tersebut adalah sosiologi, antropologi, psikologi, pendidikan, ekonomi, dan politik. Sedangkan ilmu humaniora meliputi bahasa, linguistik, sastra, pendidikan, sejarah, hukum, filsafat, arkeologi, seni, dan ilmu sosial yang memiliki muatan humanistik.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of Islamic law during the reign of Umar ibn al-Khattab, a pivotal phase in the historical development of the Islamic political system. Umar, the second caliph after the Prophet Muhammad, was known for his success in integrating the principles of Sharia into a solid and well-organized governmental structure. This research focuses on his leadership biography, legal thought, and strategic policies enacted throughout his caliphate. Using a qualitative descriptive approach through literature review, the study reveals that Umar upheld Islamic law not only through textual adherence to the Qur’an and Sunnah but also through dynamic ijtihad to address emerging social, economic, and political challenges. Notable innovations included the reform of war booty (ghanimah) land distribution, the suspension of hudud punishments during famine, the establishment of an independent judicial system, and the creation of financial and administrative institutions. Umar also formed the Majlis al-Shura (consultative council), instituted the Hijri calendar, and implemented taxation systems and social security policies. These reforms laid a foundational framework for the development of fiqh al-siyasah (Islamic political jurisprudence) and Islamic governance. The study concludes that the caliphate of Umar ibn al-Khattab marked the beginning of institutionalized Islamic law—dynamic, contextual, and firmly rooted in the principles of justice and public welfare

Abstract

The integration of technology in subtitling practices has become increasingly significant, with various tools enhancing the quality and efficiency of audiovisual translation. Among these tools, Aegisub software stands out as a popular choice, particularly among fansub translators, due to its user-friendly interface and rich features. This study aims to explore the implementation of Aegisub in a subtitling course at the English Literature Department of UIN Alauddin, focusing on the experiences of fifth-semester students. Utilizing a qualitative approach, data were collected through classroom observations, interviews, and questionnaires, allowing for a comprehensive analysis of the students' challenges and successes while using the software. The findings reveal that while students effectively applied Aegisub to create subtitles, they encountered both technical and linguistic challenges. Technical issues included timing, typesetting, and codifying, while linguistic difficulties involved diction choices, equivalence, and translation strategies. Despite these challenges, the software's compatibility with various operating systems and its easy-to-follow instructions contributed to increased student motivation and engagement in subtitling tasks. This study highlights the dual nature of Aegisub as a valuable educational tool that not only facilitates learning but also presents challenges that need to be addressed for optimal use in audiovisual translation education

Abstract

The global economic crisis in 2025 has had a significant impact on household financial conditions, especially among lower-middle-class communities. This study aims to describe how Muslim families in Blora Regency build and maintain their financial resilience in the face of these economic pressures. A qualitative approach using phenomenological methods was used to explore the subjective experiences of ten Muslim families. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth semi-structured interviews and participant observation. The results show that Muslim families' financial resilience is formed through a combination of Islamic values such as qana'ah (contentment), tawakkal (trust), and anti-riba (usury), as well as practical economic strategies such as saving, income diversification, and utilizing community-based social networks. These findings provide important insights into the role of spirituality in strengthening household economic resilience and provide input for Islamic financial institutions and policymakers in designing local value-based economic empowerment programs.

Abstract

Modernization has brought significant impacts on the dynamics of educational institution management, including traditional pesantren that have long maintained a classical learning system centered on the kitab kuning (Islamic classical texts). This study aims to analyze the challenges and adaptive strategies implemented by Pondok Pesantren Al Mubarokah in sustaining its existence amidst the currents of educational modernization. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. A total of 10 participants including the kiai, pesantren administrators, teachers, and senior students were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, then validated using source and technique triangulation. Data analysis was conducted interactively through the stages of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the pesantren faces challenges such as limited human resources, increasing institutional administrative demands, and the pressure of technological modernization that may potentially shift its traditional identity. In response, the pesantren developed adaptive strategies, including strengthening the leadership role of the kiai, digitizing administrative processes, integrating the kitab kuning curriculum with the national curriculum, and enhancing teacher competence through training. These results emphasize that pesantren are capable of building a hybrid management model rooted in tradition while remaining responsive to contemporary changes. The study recommends reinforcing culturally based institutional resilience and encouraging affirmative government policies to ensure the sustainability of traditional pesantren.

Abstract

This study was conducted based on the phenomena that often occur in the implementation of digital archival management such as in the stages of archive creation, use of archive storage, archive maintenance and archive reduction that have not been carried out optimally. One of the supporting factors for success in achieving the goals of educational institutions is order in the field of archiving. The implementation of good digital archival management also has a function to facilitate administrative staff in managing school administration. This study uses a qualitative research method that aims to provide a systematic, factual and accurate description of the facts in the field. To obtain and collect the data needed in this study, the author uses several methods, namely observation, interviews and documentation, with data sources obtained from the principal, administration department and teachers of SMP Negeri 16 Bandar Lampung. For data sources, the author uses primary data sources and secondary data sources, then for data analysis, data collection techniques, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions are carried out. Based on the analysis that has been carried out, the results obtained are that at SMP Negeri 16 Bandar Lampung. has implemented digital archiving management quite well, starting from the archive creation stage to the reduction of archives. However, there are several things that need to be considered such as mixed archives because they still use the same building, an archive storage system that still uses a stacked origin system which makes it difficult to find archives again if needed and an archive maintenance system that has not been carried out routinely and the lack of administrative staff that has caused a lack of manpower to separate archives that have been mixed for a long time, therefore it is hoped that the school will pay more attention to the archiving section, especially in the archive life cycle.

Abstract

Modern education, as it develops within contemporary educational discourse, is often secular in nature, lacking an adequate understanding of the spiritual-transcendental dimension that is the essence of Islamic education. Integrating Islamic educational philosophy and theory can be a solution to fill this gap, offering an approach that not only integrates knowledge (an integrated curriculum) but also harmonizes the relationship between humans, nature, and their creator (a tauhidic worldview). This study employs a qualitative approach using library research. Through a qualitative approach with a literature analysis method, this study will examine key concepts in Islamic educational philosophy, Islamic learning theory, and its relevance to the development of an educational model that combines aspects of aqliyah (intellectual), qalbiyah (spiritual-emotional), and amaliyah (practical-social). The results of this study indicate that to understand the meaning and essence of education itself, it needs to be supported by a philosophical approach, especially in the context of understanding the philosophy of science which contains ontology, epistemology, and axiology. Therefore, a theory or approaches are needed to find out more about what education should be studied in Islam. However, the discussion in Islam itself is very broad in context and scope, so a development theory is needed that is in accordance with the needs of the times, so that Islam itself is not left behind and is not considered a backward religion.

Abstract

A drama series is a visual medium within the realm of nonverbal communication that represents various meanings through sociocultural conventions, particularly in the South Korean entertainment industry. One example is the poster for the drama Light Shop, which contains elements of mystery. This study aims to analyze the representation of mystery elements in the poster using Roland Barthes semiotic theory denotation, connotation, and myth. through a descriptive qualitative method with a constructivist approach. The results reveal that the Light Shop poster contains several visual signs that collectively create an atmosphere of mystery. In this poster, visual elements such as the dominant black and yellow colors symbolize death and enlightenment. In addition, the upward gaze symbol conveys a sense of hope, while the characters body postures symbolize anxiety and fear. The hanging lamp symbolizes the transitional line between life and death. The myth in the Light Shop poster represents the drama’s narrative that the hanging lamp emitting light can determine a person’s life or death. This study is expected to serve as a reference in the field of communication studies, particularly in visual semiotic analysis. In addition, this research can be applied as an implementation of Roland Barthes’ semiotic theory to analyze visual promotional media such as film posters. It is also expected to provide inspiration and new insights in the field of film poster design, especially in the use of visual elements containing symbolism to strengthen the visual communication message of the poster

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of Islamic education in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), highlighting efforts to integrate the preservation of tradition with the application of modernization to face the challenges of globalization. As the oldest Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia, Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) have a strong tradition of scholarship through the teaching of yellow books, the sorogan and bandongan methods, and the practice of daily worship. However, technological developments, curriculum modernization, and global demands require Islamic boarding schools to integrate religious knowledge with general knowledge, 21st-century skills, and the use of digital technology. This study uses a qualitative library research approach with primary sources in the form of classical books, curriculum documents, and government regulations, as well as secondary sources from related academic literature. The data obtained were analyzed through content analysis to identify the main themes of the transformation of Islamic boarding school education. The results of the analysis show that the transformation of Islamic boarding schools includes adaptive curriculum innovation, the implementation of active learning methods, the use of digital technology, and a shift in the leadership style of kiai from a charismatic-traditional model to a participatory and professional pattern. The principle of al-Muḥāfaẓah ‘alā al-Qadīm al-Ṣāliḥ wa al-Akhdu bi al-Jadīd al-Aṣlaḥ is a philosophical foundation that maintains the identity of Islamic boarding schools while enabling the acceptance of beneficial reforms. This transformation not only strengthens the identity of Islamic boarding schools but also ensures their sustainability and competitiveness in the era of globalization. Thus, Islamic boarding schools now serve as inclusive, adaptive, and multifunctional centers of Islamic education, capable of making a real contribution to the development of modern society

Abstract

Al-Ikhlas Modern Islamic Boarding School and Its Role in the Development of Islam in Lampoko, Campalagian District, Polewali Mandar Regency A Historical Review, which attempts to examine three problems, namely: the history of the establishment of Al-Ikhlas Modern Islamic Boarding School, Efforts made by the Islamic boarding school in the Development of Islam in Lampoko and its influence on the surrounding community. The preparation of this thesis uses qualitative descriptive research, field research and library research, by conducting observations, interviews, and documentation then carrying out a historical approach and processed with inductive and deductive methods and the final stage is presented in the form of historiography. Al-Ikhlas Modern Islamic Boarding School was founded in 1992 and inaugurated one year later. Founded by H. Zikir Sewai with personal money, he donated the land he bought to be used as an Islamic boarding school so that it could become a producer of scholars who would continue the struggle for Islam. This Islamic boarding school consists of RA, MTs, SMP, SMK and SMA. This Islamic boarding school operates in the fields of da'wah, education, and social work, and is expected to make a real contribution to community life in line with Islamic law and the guidance of the Quran. The boarding school consistently teaches its students to always benefit others by enjoining good and forbidding evil. This is inseparable from its role in educating the community on how to practice true Islam without being influenced by polytheism. This is to ensure that the goal of harmonizing knowledge with faith and piety is achieved, the pinnacle of success.

Abstract

This study examines the role of the madrasah principal in enhancing the quality of graduates at NU Banat Madrasah Aliyah, Kudus Regency. The research is motivated by the urgent need to improve graduate outcomes as part of a complex and continuous educational process. Specifically, the study aims to describe the principal’s role as a leader, manager, and innovator in strengthening graduate quality. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the stages of data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal three main roles of the principal. First, as a leader, the principal demonstrates discipline, active supervision of teachers and students, and continuous professional guidance through training and two-way communication. Second, as a manager, the principal designs comprehensive program planning, assigns tasks according to teacher competence, and manages administration, student affairs, infrastructure, and finances professionally, including the implementation of the ISO 9001:2015 quality system. Third, as an innovator, the principal initiates contemporary learning programs such as Integrated Tahfidz, Muhadasah, Conversation Class, project-based learning, and digital learning. These roles synergistically foster graduates who excel academically, spiritually, in character, life skills, and technological competence. This study contributes to the discourse on educational leadership by highlighting the strategic role of madrasah principals in improving graduate quality within Islamic educational institutions.
