Al-Mikraj: Jurnal Kajian Islam dan Humaniora Indonesia. Jurnal ini membahas tentang Studi Islam dan Humaniora. Ilmu sosial tersebut adalah sosiologi, antropologi, psikologi, pendidikan, ekonomi, dan politik. Sedangkan ilmu humaniora meliputi bahasa, linguistik, sastra, pendidikan, sejarah, hukum, filsafat, arkeologi, seni, dan ilmu sosial yang memiliki muatan humanistik.

Abstract

Sumbang caliak is a form of prohibition in Minangkabau custom that regulates visual behavior in the context of male-female interactions in social relations. This study aims to analyze sumbang caliak as a manifestation of hadith values related to the ethics of guarding one's gaze (hifzh al-bashar) and social modesty (haya’). Through a living hadith approach, this study examines how the hadith teachings on lowering the gaze are understood normatively and theologically in the cultural practices of the Minangkabau people. This study is a library research that seeks to construct conceptual and theoretical understanding by placing customary texts and hadith as the main sources.  The results of the study show that sumbang caliak is not merely a rule of etiquette, but a representation of a social mechanism to maintain the marwah (self-esteem) of women and men, control the expression of desire, and prevent behavior that has the potential to cause slander or violations of honor. This tradition serves as an epistemological bridge between Minangkabau customs based on the principle of adat basandi syarak, syarak basandi Kitabullah and the values of hadith that emphasize politeness, moderation of desires, and balance in social relationships. Thus, sumbang caliak is a concrete example of how the principle of hadith is lived, internalized, and institutionalized in the customary structures and daily behavior of the Minang people. This research contributes to the strengthening of Islamic anthropological studies and provides an understanding that local customary practices can serve as a medium for the transmission of sustainable sharia values.

Abstract

The development of modern Qur’anic studies presents methodological challenges to the authority and interpretation of the Qur’an, thus requiring a scientific approach capable of integrating historical dimensions with contemporary contexts in a balanced manner. This research aims to analyze the concept of hermeneutics within Qur’anic studies and to examine its applicability through a contextual approach while maintaining the principles of Islamic epistemology. The study employs a library research method with a descriptive-analytical qualitative approach, involving a comparative analysis of the ideas of leading Qur’anic hermeneutic scholars such as Fazlur Rahman and Abdullah Saeed through primary and secondary sources. The findings indicate that hermeneutics can serve as a relevant interpretive tool in understanding modern social dynamics while enriching tafsir methodology without negating the authority of revelation. Its selective application—based on the objectives of Islamic law (maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah) and the boundaries of definitive rulings (qat‘i)—offers contextual, humanistic, and responsive interpretations aligned with the needs of the Muslim community. In conclusion, hermeneutics can function as an alternative approach that strengthens the relevance of the Qur’an, provided that it is grounded in a solid Islamic epistemological framework and does not contradict the fundamental principles of Islamic teachings

Abstract

Child sexual grooming has become an alarming form of violence in the digital era, as offenders exploit online media to approach, manipulate, and exploit children. This article aims to analyze child sexual grooming from the perspectives of positive law and Islamic law. The study employs a normative juridical method with a qualitative approach, conducted through library research with descriptive-analytical and comparative analysis. The findings reveal that Indonesian positive law, particularly the Child Protection Law and the Sexual Violence Crime Law, criminalizes grooming, yet legal gaps remain, especially in addressing digital-based crimes. In Islamic law, grooming is classified as jarīmah and jināyah because it violates the principles of maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah, which emphasize the protection of religion, life, intellect, honor, and property. The comparative analysis demonstrates that integrating Islamic legal values with positive law could strengthen child protection mechanisms and provide a more comprehensive normative foundation. Therefore, enhancing regulations through the synergy of both legal systems is crucial in preventing and addressing cases of child sexual grooming.

Abstract

The development of the modern era requires educational institutions to equip students with relevant life skills so that they are able to adapt to social dynamics. Entrepreneurship education has become one of the strategic approaches in fostering creativity, independence, and problem-solving skills. This study aims to examine the implementation of entrepreneurship education in extracurricular activities, efforts to strengthen students' life skills, as well as supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. The research method used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was strengthened through persistent observation. The results showed that entrepreneurship education was carried out every Thursday with the involvement of competent instructors despite the simple facilities. This program specifically helps develop students' independence, adaptability, and social skills through practice- and project-based learning. Strengthening efforts are carried out through potential development, creativity guidance, and the provision of challenges that stimulate students' problem-solving abilities. Supporting factors include the availability of basic facilities, the involvement of teachers according to their expertise, and student enthusiasm, while inhibiting factors include limited resources, limited time allocation and lack of expert mentors. This study contributes to providing an empirical overview of the effectiveness of extracurricular entrepreneurship activities in developing life skills, while also offering input for schools in strengthening programs through improved facilities, better time management, and the provision of professional mentors

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to reveal the hegemony of the ruling class in the drama script Kidung Senyap Seorang Perempuan by Ikhwan Setiawan. The hegemony of the ruling class is one of the areas of study of Gramsci's hegemony theory. The theme of power is always exotic to study, interesting to explore, put forward, and actualized throughout human life. The issue of power will give birth to the ruling classes—which at first are neutral but on the way they turn, take sides. In the analysis, the researcher uses Antonio Gramsci's theory of hegemony as a knife to the hegemony of the ruling class. This research method uses descriptive qualitative. The object of the research is the drama script of Kidung Senyap Seorang Perempuan by Ikhwan Setiawan. Based on the results of the analysis, the hegemony of the ruling class is born in various forms, including: i) getting rid of those who disagree, (ii) oppression of the lower classes, (iii) physical and psychological violence, (iv) sexual harassment, and (v) making unilateral regulations.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of digital slang brainrot phenomenon on Generation Z's communication patterns in Indonesia. Using a descriptive quantitative approach through a survey of 109 respondents, the research analyzes the use of terms like rizz, gyatt, and sigma in daily interactions. Results indicate TikTok as the dominant platform (59.5%) for brainrot content dissemination, with 50.5% of respondents acknowledging intergenerational comprehension gaps. Employing Uses and Gratifications Theory and Mass Communication Theory, the study explains how brainrot serves both as an identity expression tool and entertainment source (82%), despite 64% of respondents recognizing its negative cognitive impacts, particularly reduced focus. Key findings reveal that brainrot language has established absurdist and expressive communication patterns among Gen Z while simultaneously creating communication barriers with older generations. The research recommends enhancing media literacy and adopting educational approaches to maximize benefits while mitigating the psychological risks associated with this phenomenon.

Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence (AI) has brought fundamental changes in the way knowledge is produced, validated, and accepted in various sectors of life. Algorithmic models, especially deep learning, generate predictions and recommendations that are often treated as operational truths even though the inference process is not fully explainable. This study analyzes how AI changes the understanding of truth, validity, and epistemic authority from the perspective of the philosophy of science, and links it to the ontological and axiological dimensions in modern knowledge production. A qualitative approach based on philosophical analysis is used to integrate the thoughts of Popper, Kuhn, Lakatos, Van Fraassen, and Floridi. The results show that AI shifts knowledge from rational justification to performative and statistical validity, and challenges the position of humans as the primary epistemic agents. This study asserts that the epistemic transformation triggered by AI requires ontological and axiological reflection so that the development of knowledge remains in line with humanitarian principles and ethical responsibility

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has increasingly influenced various aspects of life, including the field of education. In learning processes, AI functions as a system capable of analyzing data, providing learning recommendations, and adapting materials to students’ needs. This literature review aims to describe the application of AI in intelligent learning systems and the benefits it brings to teaching and learning activities. The method used is a literature study based on relevant national and international journals published within the last five years. The findings indicate that AI implementation can enhance learning personalization, improve assessment effectiveness, and support teachers in making data-driven decisions. However, its implementation still faces challenges, such as limited infrastructure, low digital literacy, and teachers’ readiness to operate the technology. Therefore, AI holds significant potential to support adaptive and efficient learning, yet it requires improved teacher competencies and adequate facilities to maximize its application.

Abstract

This research was aimed at discovering the kinds of pronunciation errors made by the nursing students of Universitas Klabat in Pre Intermediate 1 class of 2025/2026 academic year. It is a descriptive quantitative method by involving 20 students from the total population of 40. Pronunciation test and interview were used as the research instruments. In this research, the researcher used 10 sentences for students to read. Every sentence has its specific English word with silent letter which became the target word to find out if the student could read them well. Every silent letter will only appear once in every sentence and the students were not allowed to repeat their pronunciations. The results of the research clearly showed that the students were preconditioned to make two kinds of errors, which are pre-systematic errors and systematic errors. The pre-systematic errors occurred more frequently than the other one. The highest errors made by the students were silent letters “l” (e.g. talk) and “p” (e.g. pneumonia) where numbers of errors for both letters were 30 (50%) out of 60 errors. The conclusion could be that the students faced difficulties when pronouncing words that are normally rare in use in their daily English practices and also because the students do not have good skills.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes in the function composition material through the implementation of peer tutoring strategies in class XI MA Islamiyah Syafi'iyah. This study uses the Kurt Lewin Classroom Action Research (CAR) model which is implemented in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 29 students, and data were collected through observation of learning activities and learning outcome tests at the end of each cycle. Data analysis was carried out using the N-Gain calculation to determine the improvement in learning outcomes between cycles. The results showed a significant improvement in learning outcomes after the implementation of the peer tutoring strategy. The average N-Gain value in cycle I was 0.53 (52.84%) with a moderate category, increasing in cycle II to 0.79 (79.45%) with a high category. This increase indicates that the implementation of the peer tutoring strategy is effective in improving conceptual understanding, student activeness, and mathematics learning outcomes in the function composition material. Thus, the peer tutoring strategy can be used as an effective and interactive learning alternative to help students understand mathematics material more deeply.
