Abstract

This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) aimed at improving students’ learning outcomes on the topic of function transformation through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in Grade XII of MA Islamiyah Syafi’iyah during the 2024/2025 academic year. The research subjects consisted of 19 students. The study was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The data collection instruments included learning achievement tests and observation sheets for both student and teacher activities. The success indicator of this study was determined if at least 75% of the students achieved the Minimum Mastery Criterion (KKM) of 75, and there was an improvement in the average learning outcome in each cycle. The results showed that students’ learning outcomes improved after the implementation of the PBL model. In Cycle I, the percentage of students who achieved mastery was 52.63% with an average score of 72.11. After the improvements made in Cycle II, the mastery percentage increased to 84.21% with an average score of 79.32. These findings indicate that the Problem Based Learning model can effectively enhance students’ learning outcomes on the topic of function transformation. In conclusion, the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model is effective in improving students’ mathematics learning outcomes, particularly in function transformation material, as it encourages student activeness, develops critical thinking skills, and facilitates conceptual understanding through contextual problem-solving activities.

Abstract

The goal of this research was to find the types of mispronunciation made by the economics and business students of Universitas Klabat in Pre Intermediate 2 class of 2025/2026 academic year. It used the quantitative research method by taking 14 students from the total population of 28. The test of pronunciation skill and interview were implemented as the instruments of this research. The researcher used 10 sentences for the students to read one by one in a slow pace. Each of them contains particular English word with silent letter to identify if the student could read them well. The students were not allowed to repeat their pronunciations. Every silent letter will just appear once in every sentence. The results of the research showed that the students would always make two types of errors, which are pre-systematic errors and systematic errors. The number of occurrences of pre-systematic error is more than the other one. The highest error made by the students were the words with silent letters “b” (e.g. plumber) and “p” (e.g. psychology) where total numbers of errors for both letters were 56 (40%). The conclusion of this research was the students faced pronunciation issues with words that contain silent letters that were used in different ways in their mother tongue language.

Abstract

This study examines the concept of character education in Tafsir Jalalain and Tafsir Al-Ibriz based on the interpretation of Surah Luqman verses 12–19. The topic is essential because both works of tafsir contain universal and contextual moral teachings that can serve as foundations for building students’ noble character in contemporary Indonesia. The research aims to analyze and compare the concept of character education in both interpretations and to identify their relevance to Indonesia’s current character education system. This study employs a qualitative library research approach using content analysis to explore primary and secondary sources. The analysis focuses on interpreting textual meanings and contextual nuances in each tafsir to uncover values related to moral and character development. The findings reveal that both Tafsir Jalalain and Tafsir Al-Ibriz emphasize the development of human character in relation to God, oneself, others, and the surrounding environment. Tafsir Jalalain presents a more universal approach, while Tafsir Al-Ibriz offers local contextualization relevant to Indonesian culture. The two interpretations complement each other and remain highly relevant to strengthening character education in Indonesia today

Abstract

This study explores the interrelation between Fiqh al-Lughah (the jurisprudence of language), Qur’anic exegesis (tafsir), and the sciences of hadith (‘Ulum al-Hadith) as three complementary disciplines in understanding Islamic religious texts. Using a qualitative library research approach, this research examines the works of M. Quraish Shihab (Tafsir al-Mishbah) and Shaykh Muhammad bin Salih al-‘Uthaymeen (Sharh Arba’in Nawawiyyah) to demonstrate how linguistic approaches are employed in the interpretation of the Qur’an and hadith. The findings reveal that Fiqh al-Lughah plays a crucial methodological role in uncovering the meanings of sacred texts through deep analysis of lafzh (lexical form), shighat (morphology), and dalalah (semantic indication). In Qur’anic exegesis, etymological and semantic analyses reveal both the spiritual and contextual depth of verses, while in hadith studies, rhetorical and syntactic analyses clarify the Prophet’s intended meanings. The novelty of this research lies in its conceptual integration of these three disciplines, which have traditionally been studied separately. This study proposes a new paradigm that views Fiqh al-Lughah not merely as a linguistic branch but as an epistemological foundation linking language, exegesis, and hadith into one coherent methodological framework. Hence, Fiqh al-Lughah emerges as an essential scientific instrument that safeguards the authenticity of Islamic texts and ensures their relevance in the modern scholarly context.

Abstract

This study discusses multicultural education theories and approaches as a response to the increasing social complexity resulting from cultural, ethnic, religious, and linguistic diversity in modern societies, particularly in Indonesia. Multicultural education is a strategic solution in building a tolerant, fair, and inclusive society through a learning process that respects differences and upholds equality. This study uses a qualitative method with a library research approach, utilizing various academic literature sources such as books, journal articles, and official documents to examine multicultural education theories in depth. The analysis was conducted descriptively and analytically to examine the main concepts of thinkers such as James A. Banks, Sonia Nieto, Christine Sleeter, Carl Grant, H.A.R. Tilaar, and Parsudi Suparlan. The results of the study show that Banks' theory focuses on five dimensions of multicultural education, Nieto emphasizes critical aspects and social justice, while Sleeter and Grant offer a classification of contextual approaches. From an Islamic perspective, multicultural education is rooted in the values of tawhid, justice, ukhuwah, tasamuh, and ta'āruf as reflected in the Qur'an and Hadith. In conclusion, the implementation of multicultural education in Indonesia requires synergy between the curriculum, pedagogical strategies, school culture, and community involvement to create a humanistic and civilized education system in accordance with the values of Pancasila and Islam. This study contributes by systematizing theoretical perspectives and presenting an integrated conceptual framework that can serve as a reference for curriculum development and policy formulation on multicultural education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (IRE) in vocational schools faces challenges in relating teaching materials to the diverse realities of students' lives. Therefore, a contextual and student-centered pedagogical approach is needed. This study aims to examine the application of Ki Hajar Dewantara's constructivism theory in IRE learning at SMKN 1 Kediri, as well as its practical meaning and implementation in the classroom context. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The focus of the study is directed at the main principles of Dewantara's constructivism, such as the tri N concept and the application of the Tut Wuri Handayani philosophy. The findings of this study indicate that the application of Dewantara's constructivism model significantly improves student engagement and PAI learning outcomes. This is achieved through learning that is more relevant, contextual, and encourages active student participation. However, challenges remain, particularly in terms of teacher readiness and limited resources to support this approach optimally. This research contributes to the development of contextual learning theory in Islamic education, particularly by emphasizing the relevance of a local constructivism approach based on cultural values and national educational philosophy. These findings can serve as a basis for developing a more adaptive and transformative PAI learning model in vocational education settings..

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of Islamic education in Andalusia from the madrasah system to university-like institutions, with particular attention to institutional structures, curricula, and academic practices. The research focuses on how Andalusian madrasahs developed formal educational features such as structured curricula, multidisciplinary knowledge integration, teacher authorization systems (ijāzah), and academic autonomy, which later influenced the formation of medieval European universities. This study employs a qualitative historical research method based on literature analysis. Primary sources include classical Andalusian texts and works of prominent scholars such as Ibn Rushd, Ibn Bājjah, and Ibn Ṭufayl, while secondary sources consist of contemporary historical and educational studies. Data analysis was conducted through three stages: (1) historical-descriptive analysis to reconstruct the development of educational institutions and curricula in Andalusia; (2) interpretative analysis to examine the role of madrasahs in shaping academic authority, teaching methods, and knowledge transmission; and (3) comparative analysis to identify similarities between Andalusian madrasahs and early European universities. The findings indicate that Islamic education in Andalusia experienced a significant institutional transformation, characterized by the emergence of madrasahs with organized curricula encompassing religious sciences, philosophy, medicine, mathematics, and astronomy, supported by extensive libraries and an inclusive academic environment. These institutions also implemented systems of scholarly certification and academic autonomy that closely resemble the foundational structures of medieval European universities. This study highlights the substantial contribution of Islamic educational institutions in Andalusia to the historical development of higher education and underscores the need for a more inclusive global historiography of education
