This research is entitled Struggle as seen in Cassandra Clare’s The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. The aim of this study is to find out the struggle in the novel. Objective approach is applied in analysing the data to find out the courage in the novel. Qualitative research is descriptive. The data collected are in form of words and pictures rather than numbers. The objective approach is applied because the analysis only focuses on the novel itself. The results show that there is a lot of struggle. There many struggles that were played by characters in the novel. Through an intrinsic approach, and example in this novel shows attitudes and struggle of the main character named Clary and her mother named Jocelyn they live together in New York. At first, everything was fine, than everything changed when Jocelyn suddenly disappeared. This is where Clary struggles to find her mother, Clary also finds the reason why her mother disappeared. Clary goes through various kinds of obstacles that she has to go through such as fighting against every enemy such as Vampire, Devil, Giant. Clary not only struggles to find her mother, here she also struggles for the one she loves, namely Jace. What make this novel interesting is not only the struggles of the main characters. But there is a moral value in the novel.

This research aimed to describe students’ perception of the use of YouTube in English translation classes. In conducting this research, the researcher used a questionnaire and the result was presented descriptively. The researcher analyzed the data according to three indicators such as accuracy, acceptability, and readability. Accuracy refers to whether the meaning of the source language is similar to the target language. The term acceptability refers to whether or not the translation has been revealed according to the target language rules, norms, or cultures. The readability deals with how natural and easy a translation can be read by the target readers. For the first indicator's accuracy, according to data analysis, it can be analyzed that the students choose 60% agree, 20% strongly agree, 17% choose neutral and 3% disagree. For the second indicator acceptability, 56% Agree, 27% Strongly agree, 16% neutral and 1% disagree. For the last indicator readability, 56 % agree, 30% strongly agree, 13% neutral and 1% choose to disagree. Based on this research, the researcher concluded that students’ perception of the use of youtube in English translation class was needed to help them understand the translation and learning process.

This research aimed to identify or found the value of character education revealed in the movie “Freedom Writers” directed by Richard Lagravense. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method and uses content analysis to analyze the data. The sources of data are taken from the movie “Freedom Writers” directed by Richard Lagravense and other documents such as journals, books, or articles related to the research from the analysis of the movie there is a value of honesty as a learning behavior in an effort to make someone trustworthy even in words, actions, and work. Tolerance refers to mutual respect for one another. The value of curiosity shows how they know more about something. The creative value is about having new ideas to achieve new things and the peace-loving value described attitudes and actions that are useful in social peace and mutual respect. The values of honesty, tolerance, curiosity, creativity, and peace-loving are reflected in the students. Through the attitude of a teacher named Erin Gruwell, she can change the way students think from not looking at and gang violence, looking at religion, race, ethnicity, region border and looking at color differences because with her fortitude, she guides the characterless students to become a good character and want to achieve their future. It can be concluded that watching the movie “Freedom Writers” directed by Richard Lagravense can increase the character education of students.

The purpose of this research is to reveal the struggle to reconcile in Nicholas Sparks The Last Song. In conducting this research, the writers use qualitative research because the data are collected in the form of words and quotations from the primary source which is the novel itself The Last Song written by Nicholas Sparks, and secondary sources are related documents such as books, journal, internet browsing, dictionary, and some materials that can support this research. In analyzing the data, the writers use objective approach to get the information about Steve Miller struggle for reconciliation. The result of research shows the struggle of Steve Miller for reconcile the relationship. In addition, in solving the struggle, the writers conclude in Steve struggle that he did several things, namely by following his daughter's wishes, believing in his daughter, and fighting to hide his illness. Steve Miller gets several effects. Steve Miller more aware of the real love of God, being his daughter aware of Steve's Miller affection, his daughter knows the reason for her parents divorce decision, Making his daughter Peace with Self, and finally they can reconcile the relationship. So, in the struggle it is not easy people need to patient and never give up in facing them. Because there is no struggle without challenges, people must disappointment and tears faced it.

The purpose of this study is to reveal the struggles in the novel Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens (2019). In conducting the study, the writers delimit only in analysing the struggles of the main character in the novel. The design of this study is qualitative method because all of the data are in the form of words and quotations rather than numbers and the approach used Reader-Response, It focuses on the process of struggles of the main character that produces the result. The writers find that three forms of struggle. They accept the facts of life, achieve the goals, and get affection. The implication of this study is to enrich the knowledge of the writers and the readers about the main character’s struggles that reflected in Owens’ Where The Crawdads Sing. Moreover, it can be a reference for the students of English Department who are attracted to observe the similar research. Therefore, this research can conclude the novel, Where The Crawdads Sing, to show the forms of the struggle of the main character.

Drama adalah bentuk seni yang bercerita melalui percakapan dan tindakan tokoh-tokohnya yang berdasarkan atas konflik batin dan dapat dipentaskan. Drama Mother adalah drama dari negara Jepang yang ditayangkan pada tanggal 14 April 2010 – 23 Juni 2010, drama ini menceritakan tentang tokoh Suzuhara Nao yang ingin menyelamatkan Michiki Rena dari siksaan ibu kandungnya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan unsur intrinsik yang meliputi tema, tokoh-penokohan dan juga mendeskripsikan struktur kepribadian Suzuhara Nao dengan menggunakan teori psikologi sastra milik Sigmund Freud. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif dan teknik analisis data yang menggunakan metode dramatik. Pada penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa Suzuhara Nao memiliki kepribadian yang dingin, pendiam, dan keras kepala. Dan analisis psikologi yang dimilikinya yaitu memiliki kedudukan id, ego dan superego yang seimbang.

This study is conducted to reveal the hypocrisy and explain its causes and effects as seen in Narayan’s The Guide. The writers delimit this study on revealing hypocrisy in the novel itself. Particularly, this study delimit to hypocritical actions and words of Raju as experienced throughout the story. In carrying out this research, the data are got from the novel by Narayan entitled The Guide as primary source and also supported by other relevant references such as books, documents and web sources about hypocrisy are considered as secondary. In doing the data analysis, the researchers use objective approach and show about the hypocrisy and its causes and effects in the novel. The result shows that a hypocrite is a person who is illustrated as someone who has no principles and is inconsistent. They have in mind how they can benefit from what they are doing. Raju when talking to people always confirms what he says. He always covers his character by always being polite and even exaggerated at times. He always had a sweet mouth and sometimes pretended to support what people said. It is often easy to praise anyone. The causes of Raju’s hypocrisy is targeting material profit and obtaining self-pleasure. The impact of Raju’s hypocrisy is the decrease of moral.

Teknik dengan artikulasi bebas pada dasarnya adalah sebuah pendekatan untuk membantu siswa memiliki pilihan untuk menumpahkan ide mereka sebagai karya. Cara penyelesaian komposisi yang paling umum menggunakan media cat air di kelas 9 SMP N 1 Bolaang beberapa siswa tidak memiliki media tersebut, mereka hanya memiliki pensil warna dan spidol sehingga karya mereka tidak ideal, karena mereka tidak dapat mengatur harga media cat air yang mahal dan tidak memahami metode atau cara penggunaan media cat air. Perkembangan seni lukis dengan menggunakan strategi dengan harapan dapat saling melengkapi dengan media cat air, siswa ditawari kesempatan untuk menggunakan alat mekanik seperti ponsel dengan mencari motivasi, pengalaman yang lebih luas tentang pengerjaan dan contoh karya seni untuk dikerjakan di lapangan. Mempersiapkan dan memberdayakan siswa adalah salah satu cara bagi siswa untuk memiliki pilihan untuk mengembangkan pemikiran dan inovasi mereka dan memiliki pilihan untuk menerapkan media yang digunakan dalam melukis, khususnya media cat air, siswa lebih memahami warna dalam melukis. Keinovatifan siswa dalam melukis dengan media cat air memiliki kualitas, pemikiran berbagai kemampuan penalaran, meskipun dalam melukis dengan cat air mereka mengalami kendala, hambatan yang dialami siswa tidak dapat menangani permukaan dan atribut materi. lebih jauh lagi, membuat pekerjaan mereka menjadi kotor dan berantakan.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan tentang musik dalam peribadatan di Gereja PantekostaDalam studi ini, musik yang dimaksud ialah bagaimana pemusik bisa memainkan perananya dalam memaikan musik dalam ibadah, terutama di Gereja Pantekosta Bukit Sion Bitara Jaya. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hal-hal diatas, maka dengan ini peneliti mengambil kesimpulan bahwa musik dalam peribadatan di Gereja Pantekosta Bukit Sion Bintara Jaya adalah sangat berperan penting yaitu sebagai suatu bentuk pemahaman musik rohani pada masa kini yang merujuk pada terminology kata yang berarti sedang menunjukkan trend yang menanjak atau kekini-kinian.

Novel merupakan sebuah karya sastra yang mempunyai fungsi dan peranan sentral dengan memberikan kepuasaan batin bagi pembacanya lewat nilai-nilai edukasi yang terdapat didalamnya. Novel Izana Karya Daruma Matsuura menceritakan tentang masa kanak-kanak tokoh utama yang bernama Izana ibu dari Kasane di Desa Akeiwa, sebuah daerah terpencil yang terisolasi dari dunia luar dan terus dihantui oleh depopulasi, namun masih kental akan tradisi dan adat-istiadatnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan menggunakan teknik analisis isi. Dari hasil analisis dalam penelitian ini, penulis menarik kesimpulan bahwa, novel Izana menceritakan peristiwa perjalanan kehidupan masa lalu Izana dan hubungan keluarga yang berlatar di Desa Akeiwa dan terdapat makna sosial dalam novel Izana bahwa setiap anak membutuhkan perhatian dan kasih sayang dari orang tua serta tadisi juga harus diikuti asalkan tidak bertentangan dengan nilai-nilai kemanusiaan.
