Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the cause of delay cargo and its effect on employee performance. Some business owners in Indonesia, conduct export and import that aims to expand its business branch or to obtain raw materials that are not available in the country to obtain higher quality products. Transportation is the transfer of people or goods from one place to another by using a vehicle driven by man or machine. Sea transport has been chosen by the business owners to send raw materials and finished goods belong to them. Nowadays, demand of export cargo by sea is increase, because shipping cargo using sea transport gives an affordable cost and has a greater capacity than other transport. The writer analyzes the influence of punctuality delivery of export cargo to the level of employee performance in PT Schenker Petrolog Utama, Surabaya branch. The writer used a simple linear regression method with quantitative approach to see the influence and between variables. The result of this research is by 43,4% delay cargo affected the performance of employees, and by 56,7% affected by other factors.

Abstract

The international trade and activities have elevated the bustles in Husein Sastranegara  International Airport, Bandung. Therefore, it needs more control in apron administered by the Apron Movement Control (AMC) that has licenses and ratings to do the job as the supervisor of flight operation activities, control, aircraft movements, traffic, and cleanliness control in the apron areas.  The objectiveof this study is to analyze the relationships between control unit in Apron Movement Control (AMC) and the discipline of apron service users in Husein Sastranegara International Airport. The research method used in this study is qualitative design. The result of the study based on the hypothesis shows that the value of t count = 6.71 while  t table = 1.734 in level of significance is 5% .  Since t count > t table (6.71>1.734) consequently, Ha is accepted and Ho is denied.   This study shows that the hypothesis is proved to be true that there is a relationship between the control unit of Apron Movement Control (AMC) and the discipline of apron service users in Husein Sastranegara    International Airport, Bandung in 2014.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyse the flight frequency required for Turkish Airlines on 2018-2019. The problem of the research is the route of Jakarta-Istanbul that is used for Umrah and Leisure often have overbooked due  to Turkish Airlines only provide one flight per day to carry all passengers. The methodology used quantitative descriptive analysis with the least square method to estimate the trend value that will be used as a tool to forecast the number of passengers. Seasonal variations in the data are regular upward or downward movements in a time series that tie to recurring events. The result of the data recorded in 2016 the average load factor reached by airlines of Turkey was 83.48%, aircraft seat capacity and inadequate and therefore cannot meet the demand of passengers, as well as using airline indicator calculation to analyse the flight frequency needs. It is resulted that the total passenger in 2018-2019 will increase, where in 2018 is in amount of 110.612 passengers and in 2019 is in amount of 125.645 passengers. Turkish Airlines needs to add 1 time flight frequency in a particular day on that route.

Abstract

Bicycling once again has become a trend in big cities, including Jakarta. As a form of common transportation in the world, bicycling starts to gain its fame by government’s efforts in some cities in emphasizing the bicycling activity through special programs. The amount of bicycles, almost twice the public transportations, but as mentioned, to emphasize the bicycling activites, countries such as Netherlands, Denmark, Belgia and German have been developing special roads for bicycle riders, each with equal rights to use the roads separately from the motors/cars riders. With separated parking lot, bicycle rents with bail are given back, even special bicycle guarantees, everything is cultivated for the sake of increasing yet enhancing bicycling activity. In big cities like Jakarta, the bikers’ community has convinced workers to ride their bikes when going to work. This program is called bike to work (B2W). One of the concrete action we can perform to prevent global warming is to lure others to apply the “safe transportations” in their everyday lives. Bicycle, is one of them.

Abstract

This study was conducted at the operational division of PT. DFDS Transport Indonesia. The problem in this study is to know the influence of vendor management to the implementation of export shipping in the operational division. To solve the problem the author used 2 methods. First, the data collection method in the form of questionnaire distributed to 19 respondents with saturated sample techniques used as many as 19 and processed data from the questionnaire. Second, the method of data analysis using regression, correlation analysis, determinant coefficient, and hypothesis testing. The results of the analysis and discussion show that there is a positive influence of vendor management on the export shipping, which is shown by a simple linear line equation, that is; Y = 14.25 + 0.68X, means that every change in one score of variable X will be followed by change in the Y score of 0.68 and a constant value of 14.25. Based on the correlation analysis r = 0.534, it means that there is a moderate influence of variable X on the variable Y. Determination coefficient test shows the number 28.09%, means that the influence of the information system quality to the employee performance is 28.09% while 71.91% is the influence of other factors that were not examined in this study. And the results of the hypothesis test show that tcount = 2.579 and ttable = 1.740 or tcount> ttable then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, means that there is a significant influence of vendor management towards the implementation of export shipping.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to prove the effect of speed to the cost of transportation. The research problems are how much the effect of the ship speed, how much the cost for distributing fuel, how much the fuel consumption, what threat factors that will influence the cost, and operational design in ship distribution. The analysis of the data used linear regression statistical analysis, correlation coefficient analysis, the determinant coefficient analysis and hypothesis test. The samples of the data were 32 voyage ships. The result shows that the ship speed is fast, in fact it is faster than guaranteed speed so that it gives impact to the fuel cost due to the increase of fuel consumption.
