Abstract

Pendidikan karakter menjadi bagian integral dalam sistem pendidikan Indonesia untuk membentuk generasi yang tidak hanya cerdas, tetapi juga berbudi pekerti luhur. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis representasi nilai-nilai karakter dalam teks ajar Bahasa Indonesia sebagai bagian dari upaya internalisasi karakter dalam pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan kajian pustaka, yang menelaah berbagai sumber tertulis seperti buku teks, jurnal ilmiah, dan dokumen kebijakan pendidikan untuk menggali bagaimana teks ajar Bahasa Indonesia menyampaikan nilai-nilai karakter. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teks ajar Bahasa Indonesia memiliki potensi besar dalam menyampaikan nilai-nilai karakter seperti kejujuran, tanggung jawab, toleransi, dan kerja sama melalui berbagai bentuk teks naratif, deskriptif, dan dialogis. Meskipun demikian, terdapat tantangan dalam konsistensi penyajian nilai-nilai karakter dan keterbatasan materi bacaan yang sesuai dengan tujuan pendidikan karakter. Prospek penguatan karakter melalui teks ajar sangat besar dengan adanya inovasi penyajian materi pembelajaran yang lebih kontekstual dan relevansi yang kuat terhadap kehidupan siswa. Artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa teks ajar Bahasa Indonesia dapat menjadi media strategis dalam mendukung pendidikan karakter yang efektif di sekolah.

Abstract

This research aims to find the types of flouting maxim that appear in the Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle movie. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method, used to explain in depth about the flouting maxim. The data were taken from conversations in the Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle movie by watching it repeatedly. In this research, the researcher used the theory of Grice (1975) to analyze the types of flouting maxim, which consist of four types of maxims, namely the maxim of quantity, the maxim of quality, the maxim of relevance, and the maxim of manner. The results of this research indicate that the four types of flouting maxim appear during the conversation in the movie. Among the types of flouting maxim, the dominant data that appears in this research is the flouting the maxim of relevance. Meanwhile, the flouting maxim that occurs least frequently is the maxim of quality. There is one uniqueness found in this research that is not in Grice's theory but is found in the data. Abstract

This article examines the impact of social media on the shift in Gorontalo language usage among the younger generation, focusing on content analysis from TikTok and Instagram. Using a critical sociolinguistic approach, the study maps language patterns, identifies algorithmic and socio-cultural factors, and formulates policy recommendations. Results reveal that 85% of TikTok content tagged #Gorontalo is dominated by Indonesian, while Gorontalo appears in only 8% of content, often limited to symbolic phrases. Key drivers of the shift include the prestige of national/global languages, the scarcity of creative content in the local language, and non-proactive educational policies. However, social media also offers revitalization opportunities through initiatives such as the #AkuCintaBahasaGorontalo campaign, collaborations with digital artists, and the development of the Lonto Bahasa app. The article recommends integrating local content into platform algorithms, establishing digital language laboratories, and revising binding educational regulations. These findings underscore the necessity of multi-stakeholder collaboration to sustain Gorontalo as a living identity in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of diagnostic, formative, and summative assessment models in teaching procedural texts to seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Bulango Timur. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results revealed that diagnostic assessments were applied to map students’ initial abilities, thereby guiding instructional strategies. Formative assessments were carried out through practice, group discussions, and exercises to improve learning processes. Summative assessments were conducted at the end of lessons using written and oral tests, as well as reflections, to ensure the achievement of learning outcomes. Overall, teachers successfully implemented assessment within the emancipated curriculum framework, although challenges remain regarding limited infrastructure and teachers’ mastery of information technology.

Abstract

This study addresses the problems of how the implementation of a problem-based learning (PBL) model is carried out in analyzing the structure and linguistic aspects of short stories in grade IX at SMPN 1 Bulango Timur, the factors influencing its application, and the solutions to overcome possible obstacles. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the learning process using the PBL model was conducted according to the planned design and successfully enhanced students’ critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills. Furthermore, interviews indicated that no significant inhibiting factors emerged, as both teachers and students played active roles in the learning process. Consequently, specific solutions to address obstacles were not required, since the effectiveness of the model was supported by the teachers’ guidance and students’ active participation. Abstract

Kajian ini menelusuri secara komprehensif komponen-komponen utama dalam sistem pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di Sekolah Dasar, mencakup aspek tujuan, peserta didik, peran guru, materi, metode, media, serta evaluasi. Fokus utama penelitian ini adalah bagaimana keterpaduan setiap elemen tersebut dapat menciptakan proses pembelajaran yang efektif, bermakna, dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa. Berdasarkan hasil analisis literatur, diperoleh pemahaman bahwa keberhasilan pembelajaran ditentukan oleh hubungan sinergis antara guru yang kreatif dan inovatif sebagai fasilitator, materi pembelajaran yang relevan dengan konteks kehidupan siswa, serta penggunaan metode dan media yang bervariasi. Selain itu, sistem evaluasi yang berkesinambungan juga menjadi faktor penting dalam menilai perkembangan kemampuan siswa secara menyeluruh. Pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia tidak hanya bertujuan untuk menguasai aspek kebahasaan, tetapi juga untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, komunikasi, literasi, dan kreativitas. Oleh karena itu, guru diharapkan menerapkan strategi pembelajaran yang berpusat pada siswa serta memanfaatkan teknologi digital guna menciptakan suasana belajar yang interaktif dan menarik. Dengan penerapan prinsip-prinsip tersebut, pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di Sekolah Dasar dapat menjadi sarana efektif dalam membentuk peserta didik yang cerdas, adaptif, dan berdaya saing.

Abstract

Literature learning in elementary schools plays a strategic role in developing students' character and literacy competencies. However, various challenges such as limited teacher competencies, shortage of quality teaching materials, and low reading interest hinder optimal learning outcomes. This study aims to develop a comprehensive framework for literature learning in elementary schools by examining its essential components including learning objectives, student characteristics, teacher roles, content materials, methods, media, and evaluation mechanisms. This research employs a library research method involving critical examination of academic books, scientific journals, official educational policy documents, and previous research reports. The analysis reveals that effective literature learning must be based on principles of developmental appropriateness, meaningfulness, integration, active participation, creativity, appreciation, and contextuality. The findings indicate that literature learning development requires multi-dimensional approaches including enhancing teacher competencies through continuous professional development, providing diverse quality teaching materials, implementing comprehensive literacy programs, utilizing innovative student-centered learning strategies, developing authentic assessments, and leveraging digital technology. This study contributes to providing theoretical foundations and practical guidelines for educators in designing more effective and meaningful literature learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

Problem Based Learning in Reading for Academic Purposes require students’ critical thinking to analyze, collaborate, engagement, solve the problem and self-directed study to the students. This research explored the students’ perception towards Problem Based Learning in Reading for Academic Purposes.  Descriptive qualitative approach is used in this research which used semi-structured interviews with  third-year  English  Department  students  who  had  Problem Based Learning in Reading for Academic Purposes. This research used Thematic  Analysis  to revealed  the  students’ perception on Problem Based Learning in Reading for Academic Purposes. It shown that students have positive perceptions of Problem Based Learning in Reading for Academic Purposes. Students reported that PBL is engaging and meaningfull approach to enhance Reading for Academic Purposes. PBL effectively  encourages  active  participation,  improves  text  comprehension,  and  fosters  learning  motivation through  relevant  and  meaningful  tasks.  Students perceive improvement in critical thinking, analysis, and the ability to solve complex problems within academic texts. Collaboration  within  groups  was  also  found  to  enhance  their communication  and  teamwork  skills.  Many students find group dynamics challenging, requiring strong facilitation to be effective. Supporting  factors  identified  include  the  use  of  authentic  reading materials,  opportunities  for  discussion  and  reflection,  and  the  instructor's  role  as  a  supportive  facilitator. Students appreciate when PBL is implemented with scaffolding, as they often face difficulties with the heavy workload, need for extensive outside research, and time management. Meanwhile, several challenges were also noted, such as limited learning time, uneven group contributions, varying reading abilities among group members, and difficulties in understanding academic vocabulary. Students feel more responsible for their own learning process, which boosts their confidence in tackling difficult academic materials. The findings  suggest  that  while  PBL  is  effective  in  enhancing  reading  for academic purposes  and  promoting  student-centered  learning,  its  successful  implementation  requires  careful  planning,  scaffolding  strategies,  and continuous support from instructors to overcome the identified constraints.
