Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of employee engagement in mediating the relationship between work-life balance and retention of Generation Z employees in the Surabaya area. The research approach used a quantitative method with a mediation regression analysis technique based on EViews software on 180 Generation Z employee respondents in the service and creative industries sectors. The results showed that work-life balance had a positive and significant effect on employee engagement (β = 0.512, p < 0.05) and employee retention (β = 0.348, p < 0.05). However, after employee engagement was included in the model, the direct effect of work-life balance on retention decreased and became insignificant (β = 0.172, p = 0.056). The Sobel test yielded a z-score of 3.94 and a p-value of 0.00008, indicating that employee engagement fully mediated the effect of work-life balance on employee retention. These findings indicate that work-life balance increases retention only when accompanied by high work engagement. This research strengthens the Job Demands–Resources and Social Exchange theories and provides practical implications: organizations need to strengthen a work-life culture that supports employee balance, flexibility, and participation to increase engagement and reduce turnover.

Abstract

Employee training is a critical factor in improving work performance, productivity, and competence within a company. At PT Vinix Seven Aurum, the implementation of employee training faces challenges related to the training methods and the clarity of training objectives. Despite the application of On The Job Training (OJT), including coaching, direct supervision, and apprenticeship, the training process remains informal, unstructured, and partially conducted online, which affects the consistency of guidance and the understanding of training materials. This study aims to analyze the implementation of internal and external training programs, evaluate employee participation, and assess the role of mentors in supporting effective learning. A descriptive qualitative approach was applied, with data collected through observation, interviews, discussion, analysis, and implementation of findings. The results indicate that while instructors and training materials are considered adequate, 25% of employees perceive that training targets are not clearly defined, and 20% consider online training methods less effective. Recommendations include structuring OJT methods according to job characteristics and employee experience, assigning mentors for consistent guidance, and defining measurable training objectives documented in training modules or syllabi. By applying these improvements, PT Vinix Seven Aurum can enhance employee technical skills, increase training effectiveness, and strengthen overall human resource competence to support organizational goals.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the work environment on organizational commitment, with job satisfaction as a mediating variable, among employees of the Soppeng Regency Environmental Service. This study used a quantitative method with an associative approach. The population in this study was all 43 employees of the Soppeng Regency Environmental Service, who also served as the sample using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using regression analysis, t-tests, F-tests, and mediation tests (Sobel). The results indicate that the work environment has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Employees who work in a comfortable, safe environment supported by harmonious working relationships tend to have higher work enthusiasm and loyalty to the organization. Furthermore, job satisfaction also has a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment, where employees who are satisfied with their jobs demonstrate greater loyalty, responsibility, and commitment to remaining with the organization. This study also found that job satisfaction significantly mediates the effect of the work environment on organizational commitment, thus serving as a partial mediator in this relationship. These findings confirm that improving the work environment not only directly impacts employee commitment but also indirectly through increased job satisfaction.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there are differences in employee spending, grant spending, and unexpected spending during and after the COVID-19 pandemic in Aceh. This study focuses only on districts/cities in Aceh Province. The research method is a comparative quantitative approach, using secondary data in the form of budget realization reports (LRAs) from the COVID-19 pandemic period (2020-2021) and the post-COVID-19 pandemic period (2022-2023). The data analysis technique used was a paired-samples difference analysis with the Wilcoxon signed-rank test to assess the significance of the differences between the two periods. The results indicate no difference in employee spending before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. This occurs because employee spending is routine, such as salaries and allowances, which must be paid periodically. However, different results were obtained for grant and unexpected spending, with differences both during and after the pandemic. This occurred because, during the pandemic, local governments required substantial reserve funds for emergency response, including purchasing medical equipment, providing social assistance, and supporting COVID-19 response operations. These funds then decreased after the pandemic subsided. This difference also reflects the government’s swift response to the pandemic, focusing on improving the community’s economy and addressing the pandemic within the community. Further research is expected to expand the sample size to provide a broader overview of employee spending, grant spending, and unforeseen expenses during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract

The financial performance of SMEs in Maluku is influenced not only by financial and technical factors but also by social capital embedded in local wisdom, such as Pela Gandong, which emphasizes solidarity, trust, and mutual cooperation. This study aims to analyze the role of Pela Gandong in strengthening human capital and enhancing the financial performance of SMEs in Maluku. This research employs a quantitative explanatory approach with a population of all SMEs in Maluku, and a sample of 234 respondents selected through purposive sampling based on the criteria of operating for at least two years and understanding the values of Pela Gandong. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that Pela Gandong has a significant positive effect on human capital (β = 0.645; p < 0.001) and SME financial performance (β = 0.389; p < 0.001), and human capital mediates the effect of Pela Gandong on financial performance (β = 0.542; p < 0.001). The novelty of this study lies in integrating local wisdom as strategic social capital within the Social Capital Theory framework to measure its tangible economic impact on SMEs, which has been rarely examined empirically. The findings highlight the importance of leveraging local culture-based empowerment as a strategy to improve human capital, strengthen business networks, and enhance financial performance, offering new insights for local economic policies in Maluku.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to the workforce recruitment and job search process. Digital-based job search platforms have become an effective solution for connecting job seekers with companies more quickly and efficiently. This study aims to analyze the external factors influencing TalentHub 360's business development, identify opportunities and challenges in the digital job search platform industry, and develop a financial plan that includes projected revenue, operational costs, and potential profits. The research method used is a descriptive approach with a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis. Data are derived from literature studies, observations, and documentation related to developments in the digital industry and the labor market. The analysis includes an external environmental analysis and financial planning analysis, such as profit and loss projections, cash flow projections, and Break Even Point (BEP) calculations to assess the business's financial viability. The results indicate that TalentHub 360 has significant growth potential, along with the increasing need for more efficient and integrated digital recruitment platforms. With sound financial planning and the right business strategy, TalentHub 360 has the potential to become a competitive and sustainable job search platform in the digital era.

Abstract

access on farmers' income in Boawae District, Nagekeo Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of price fluctuations, production costs and market access on farmers' income in Boawae District, Nagekeo Regency. The data used are primary data collected through interviews with clove farmers and observations and questionnaire results. Based on the results of Multiple Linear Regression Analysis, it can be seen that the t-test results for the price fluctuation variable have t count = 2.554> t table = 1.996564 and a sig. value of 0.013 <0.05, meaning that the price fluctuation variable has a positive and significant effect on the income of clove farmers in Boawae District. While the production cost variable has t count = 2.262> 1.996564 and a sig. value of 0.027 <0.05, meaning that the production cost variable has a positive and significant effect on the income of clove farmers. Furthermore, the market access variable has a calculated t-value of -2.360 > t-table = 1.996564 and a sig. value of 0.021 < 0.05. This means that market access has a significant effect on income, but in a negative direction. This means that when market access increases, farmer income decreases. Based on the F-test results, the calculated F-value is 6.888 > f-table = 2.744 and a sig. value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that price fluctuations, production costs, and market access simultaneously influence the income of clove farmers in Boawae District, Nagekeo Regency.

Abstract

Digital transformation in the trade sector has encouraged marketplaces to utilize social media as a primary medium for business communication and marketing activities. Promotional campaigns such as discounts, free shipping, shopping vouchers, and flash sales are widely used strategies to attract consumer attention and increase user engagement within the online shopping ecosystem. This article aims to analyze how digital business communication is implemented in marketplace marketing campaigns on social media, identify communication barriers that occur, and understand patterns of user interaction in digital conversations. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach using Social Network Analysis and NVivo software to process data from social media conversations related to marketplace promotional campaigns. The analysis reveals that user discussions are dominated by price promotion themes, particularly discounts and free shipping, which play a major role in attracting consumer interest. In addition, consumer trust and shopping experience emerge as important factors that strengthen user engagement in digital interactions. These findings indicate that the effectiveness of business communication in marketplace marketing depends not only on promotional intensity but also on the platform’s ability to build consumer trust and provide a positive shopping experience within the digital commerce ecosystem.

Abstract

This study investigates the effects of capital structure, firm growth, and profitability on firm value, with Good Corporate Governance (GCG) and sustainability reporting as moderating variables. A quantitative approach was applied using secondary data from financial statements and sustainability reports of consumer goods companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during 2020–2024. The sample was selected through purposive sampling, resulting in 15 firms and 75 firm-year observations. Panel data regression analysis was conducted using EViews software. The findings reveal that capital structure and firm growth positively and significantly affect firm value, while profitability does not show a significant influence. GCG moderates the relationship between capital structure and firm growth on firm value but fails to moderate the link between profitability and firm value. Sustainability reporting also moderates the relationship between capital structure and firm growth, yet does not moderate the effect of profitability. These results suggest that firm value in Indonesia’s consumer goods industry is driven more by strategic financing and growth decisions, reinforced by governance quality and sustainability disclosure, rather than short-term profitability. The study highlights the importance of integrating financial policies, governance mechanisms, and sustainability practices to enhance market perceptions of firm value.

Abstract

The quality of graduates is one of the key indicators of a university’s success in delivering education. Efforts to improve graduate quality cannot be separated from the role of effective leadership and well-implemented governance. Transformational leadership and Islamic economic-based governance are considered important approaches that can enhance higher education management and produce competent graduates. This study aims to examine the implementation of transformational leadership at Kepanjen University Malang, analyze the application of Islamic economic-based governance in improving graduate quality, and explore the outcomes of transformational leadership implementation through strengthening Islamic economic-based governance at the university.This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The informants consisted of university leaders, lecturers, administrative staff, and students. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and method triangulation. The findings show that transformational leadership at Kepanjen University Malang is implemented through the development of vision, motivation, and competency improvement of the academic community. Islamic economic-based governance is applied by integrating values such as trustworthiness (amanah), honesty, justice, transparency, and responsibility in institutional management and learning processes. The combination of these approaches contributes positively to improving graduates’ academic competence and Islamic character. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study research design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The informants of this research consisted of university leaders, lecturers, administrative staff, and students. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Meanwhile, data validity was tested through source triangulation and method triangulation. The results of the study indicate that: (1) the implementation of transformational leadership at Kepanjen University Malang is carried out through providing vision, motivation, and the development of academic community competencies in improving the quality of education; (2) the implementation of Islamic economic-based governance is conducted by integrating Islamic values such as trustworthiness (amanah), honesty, justice, transparency, and responsibility in institutional management and learning processes; and (3) the implementation of transformational leadership supported by Islamic economic-based governance has a positive impact on improving the quality of graduates, both in terms of academic competence and character building based on Islamic values
