Abstract

Rote Ndao is one of the districts in NTT that is included in the top 10 districts with the highest percentage of unmet need. The percentage of unmet need among pregnant women in the Rote Ndao region was 14.80% in 2021. This study aims to determine the factors associated with the incidence of unmet need for family planning in PUS in East Rote Sub-district, Rote Ndao Regency. This research is a quantitative research with case control design. The population of PUS in this study amounted to 1,635. The number of samples consisted of 54 case samples and 54 control samples. Data were obtained by interview using a questionnaire. The data analysis used was Chi-Square. The results of data analysis showed that the level of knowledge (p-value = 0.000, OR = 11.414) and history of family planning use (p-value 0.046 = OR 2.241) were factors that had an association with the incidence of unmet need for family planning, while husband support (p-value 0.206) and the role of health workers (p-value 0.515) did not have an association with the incidence of unmet need for family planning. Some respondents did not know the benefits of using contraceptives and the risks of not using contraceptives. Most of the PUS with unmet need had a poor history of using family planning because they experienced side effects such as dizziness, amenorhea, weight changes, and headaches. Improving the knowledge of couples of childbearing age about contraceptives is necessary.

Abstract

Women of Childbearing Age (WCA) are at risk of breast cancer. Clinical Breast Exam (CBE) performed by healthcare professionals can help detect breast cancer early. However, the national coverage of CBE of 80% has not been met because the target achieved is only 13.7%. The coverage of CBE at the Bakunase Health Center has not met the target because it only reached 8.95% in 2023. This study aims to explore the experience of WCA in conducting CBE using the Health Belief Model approach. The research was descriptive with a qualitative approach. The informants consisted of eight women selected by using a purposive sampling technique. The results of the study found that informants felt susceptible to breast cancer if they had risk factors. The perceived severity of breast cancer was related to mastectomy and the risk of death. Breast cancer was considered curable with medical and herbal treatments. CBE was considered beneficial for informants because it could help detect symptoms of breast cancer early. Informants generally felt they had no obstacles to performing CBE, but some informants found it difficult to divide their time and felt afraid when deciding to perform CBE. The cues to act were encouragement from oneself (internal) and mass media, namely the internet, and advice from parents, husbands, and health workers (external). Self-efficacy in performing CBE was based on the informant's knowledge and experience. Education about breast cancer and CBE needs to be carried out regularly to increase knowledge that will encourage WRA to perform CBE.

Abstract

Coding in medical data and information processing is a process that transforms diagnosis into alphanumerical code based on The International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD). Validity is one of the coding quality elements that must be maintained. ICD codes for childbirth cases consist of maternal condition (O10-O75, O98-O99), methods of delivery (O80-O84), and outcome of delivery (Z37.-). This study aims to obtain an overview of the accuracy of maternal diagnosis codes for general patients at Emhaka Hospital Bekasi City in 2023 - 2024. The research method used is mixed methods with data collection techniques in the form of observation and interviews. From the 41 childbirth medical records that were analyzed, it was found that the percentage of inaccuracy of the mother's condition code was 75,61%, the delivery method code inaccuracy was 78,05%, and the outcome of delivery code inaccuracy was 65,85%. After analyzing the 5M management factors, the causes of code inaccuracy are the man, money, materials, and methods factors. It is necessary to update regulations used as a basis for making hospital policies, review, develop, evaluate and monitor existing SOPs, develop medical records officers through training, and review the distribution of officer workload.

Abstract

The study aims to analyze the effects of butterfly hug therapy on anxiety levels through a systematic review of relevant studies. Journal searches were conducted using Semantic Scholar and Google Scholar, focusing on articles published between 2020 and 2024 in English and Indonesian. Inclusion criteria required full-text accessibility in PDF format, with keywords combining "Anxiety OR Anxiety Disorder" AND "Butterfly hug OR Butterfly hug Therapy" applied consistently across databases. After screening, eight studies met the criteria and were systematically reviewed.  Butterfly hug therapy is identified as a simple, cost-effective, and accessible intervention that significantly reduces anxiety levels across various populations. The included studies highlighted its efficacy in managing anxiety caused by medical stress, academic challenges, and other stressors. By integrating rhythmic, bilateral physical stimulation, butterfly hug therapy helps individuals achieve emotional regulation and a sense of comfort, making it a versatile tool for anxiety management.  This review concludes that butterfly hug therapy is a promising non-pharmacological intervention for reducing anxiety, emphasizing its potential for broader application in clinical and community settings.

Abstract

Health needs to be supported by non-medical services, one of which is the laundry installation. In this hospital laundry unit, it was found that linen management was still not in accordance with applicable procedures. Based on an initial survey, a problem was found, namely 561 linen declared missing in November 2022, but it turned out that in December 2022 the linen was in the room after monitoring. So this study aims to determine the description of linen management in the laundry unit. This study uses a qualitative approach with interview and observation methods with 10 informants to obtain research results. The results of this study in the human resources section of linen management training, facilities and infrastructure still do not meet the standards. In the procedure of the linen distribution stage, it was found that the recording of clean linen out was not completely filled in. For policies in the laundry unit already exist. Based on the results above, it can be concluded that linen management, namely the flow/process of linen management in the laundry unit, is not in accordance with existing standards. Suggestions for laundry officers to better comply with the SPO for linen management so that there is no recurrence of errors in recording which results in the amount of linen needed in the hospital.

Abstract

The nutritional status of toddlers can directly be affected by their dietary and health care patterns. The parenting pattern of parents specifically to toddlers needs to be done in earnest to achieve optimal child nutrition status. If the parenting pattern given to the mother to the child is good then the nutritional status of the child will be good too. Based on the Oesapa Health Center report in 2021-2022, the number of malnourished toddlers was 110 and in May 2024 there were 54 malnourished toddlers, 186 undernourished, 1,067 normal nutrition, 47 risk of overnutrition, 12 overnourished and 6 obesity. This study aims to determine the relationship of dietary parenting to the nutritional status of pre-school children in Oesapa Village, Kupang City. This type of research uses quantitative research with a cross sectional research design. The sampling technique in this study used Cluster sampling technique consisting of 79 samples of preschool children. Data analysis was performed using the Sperman Rank statistical test. The results showed a relationship between democratic parenting and nutritional status (0.338) has a moderate relationship, as well as the relationship between authoritarian parenting and nutritional status has a moderate relationship (0.314). However, there is no significant relationship between permissive parenting and nutritional status (0.011) which shows a very weak relationship. Parents are expected to be able to apply democratic parenting to children, especially in pre-school age children because good parenting can have an impact on children's nutritional status.

Abstract

Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) is a health issue that needs attention as it is a leading cause of death among toddlers in several developing countries, including Indonesia.are more vulnerable to diseases than adults because their immune systems are still developing. One of the infectious diseases frequently experienced by toddlers is ARI (WHO, 2022). The purpose of this research is to analyze the factors related to the incidence of ARI in toddlers in the Kapan Health Center working area. This is an analytical observational study with a cross-sectional design, involving all children aged 1-4 years from January to June. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling. The research results show a relationship between nutritional status and the incidence of ARI in toddlers (p-value = 0.000), a relationship between low birth weight (LBW) and the incidence of ARI in toddlers (p-value = 0.000), a relationship between immunization status and the incidence of ARI in toddlers (p-value = 0.000), no relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of ARI in toddlers (p-value = 0.340), and a relationship between the use of cooking fuel and the incidence of ARI in toddlers (p-value = 0.003). The community is expected to improve children's nutritional status, actively engage in health services such as posyandu and socialization, and implement healthy living behaviors, such as not bringing children into the kitchen while cooking, ensuring proper kitchen ventilation, and maintaining environmental cleanliness to reduce the risk of ARI in toddlers.
