Abstract

This article aims to explain the use of everyday life supplies to teach science related to volume, floating, sinking and solution materials in order to improve understanding of scientific concepts, active participation, and practical skills of early childhood. This article emphasizes a qualitative approach, in data collection and analysis, by directly observing learning activities and conducting in-depth interviews with teachers of Nurul Huda Yapis Kindergarten, Keerom Regency whose data are then juxtaposed with existing literature to enrich the analysis. This article found 3 things: First, the use of daily living supplies in science practicum provides opportunities for children to experience more concrete and interactive learning. Secondly, the use of living supplies in science learning activities can increase children's engagement to develop important practical skills. Thirdly, the equipment used is easy to find and safe, so learning activities can be conducted with minimal risk. Overall, the use of everyday living supplies in science learning at Nurul Huda Yapis Kindergarten not only enriches academic understanding but also supports children's holistic development, preparing them for more in-depth learning in the future.

Abstract

Speech delay is a condition where a child's speech development does not match the developmental stages at his age. This research aims to determine the application of the storytelling method for children with speech delay disorders and to find the factors that cause children with speech delay disorders at Al Mubarak Kindergarten, Langsa City. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach. This data was obtained through in-depth interviews with 1 teacher and 2 students who experienced speech delay at Al Mubarak Kindergarten. Meanwhile, secondary data is obtained from books, scientific works and other documents to answer all the problems in this thesis. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The research results show that the application of the storytelling method in Al Mubarak Kindergarten can be said to be very good for children with speech delay disorders. Because with the storytelling method, children feel interested in learning and understand what they are learning based on the stories told by their teacher so that children become active in everything. Here they are trained to dare to express opinions, answer questions and tell whatever they know without any restrictions. It can be seen from the learning progress of students that initially they did not want or were not confident to interact, communicate with their classmates and teachers. After conducting research, they have the courage to express their opinions or talk to friends and teachers in their language, and they also have the courage to play together. The factor that causes speech delay disorders is that children are often allowed to play with cellphones and watch television, without being accompanied by questions and answers. The conclusion is that the storytelling method applied by Kindergarten Al Mubarak for students, especially children with speech delay disorders, is working well.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh permasalahan yang ditemukan pada saat observasi awal di Kelompok A RA. Khalifah Insani Kota Metro, yaitu sebagian siswa belum memahami karakternya masing-masing karena dalam kegiatan pembelajarannya masih bersifat konvensional sehingga jarang mengaitkan budaya lokal dengan tema pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan prototype model pembelajaran tematik integratif berbasis kearifan lokal bagi anak usia dini dan mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran tematik integratif berbasis kearifan lokal dalam membentuk karakter. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model instruksional pengembangan J. Moonen. Sampel yang digunakan adalah 1 guru dan 20 murid kelompok A pada RA Khalifah Insani Kota Metro. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengembangan model pembelajaran tematik integratif berbasis kearifan lokal untuk membentuk karakter anak terhadap penggunaan produk mampu memfasilitasi dan menanamkan karakter sopan santun siswa dan dapat menciptakan pembelajaran yang layak dan efektif.

Abstract

Literacy is a basic skill that children need to have. This study aims to describe the introduction of literacy using digital picture storybooks for early childhood. The problems in this study show that most parents do not supervise the use of children's gadgets. Children are given gadgets so that children look calm and do not cry. So the direction given is still very minimal, especially in the use of digital storybook media. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The data collection techniques and tools used were observation, interviews, and documentation. Researchers used the Miles and Huberman data analysis technique. After the data was collected, the data was simplified to obtain the necessary information. Furthermore, the data were presented and organized to draw a conclusion. The book used is a digital picture storybook entitled “Tingkah Pola si Kera” which consists of text images and audio that work together to provide a complete picture of the story. The results of the analysis show that through the use of digital storybooks can provide an interesting introduction to children's digital literacy.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang ditemukan di TK Khodijah Mulyojati Metro Barat yaitu sebagian anak mengalami kesulitan untuk mengenal bentuk geometri seperti bentuk lingkaran, segitiga, persegi dan persegi panjang. Hal ini disebabkan minimnya media pembelajaran mengenai bentuk geometri yang digunakan saat pembelajaran berlangsung menjadikan anak tidak terlalu senang dan tidak menarik perhatian anak pada saat pembelajaran berlangsung. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian yang digunakan ini adalah metode penelitian pre-eksperimental design dengan model penelitian yang digunakan adalah one group pretest posttest design. Pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan angket dengan skala likert. Hasil penelitian ini diketahui bahwa uji validitas dengan hasil item instrumen valid berjumlah 30 item, uji reliabilitas sebesar 0,920, uji normalitas pretest sebesar 0,154 dan posttest sebesar 0,077, uji homogenitas sebesar 0,458 dan uji hipotesis paired sample t-test sebesar 0,001 dengan taraf signifikansi sebesar 0,05. Nilai rata-rata pretest sebesar 76,2 dan nilai rata-rata posttest sebesar 101,28. Pada kelas eksperimen ini terdapat peningkatan setelah diberikan treatment dengan menggunakan media permainan jump shape sebesar 25,08. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat efektivitas dalam penggunaan media permainan jump shape untuk mengenalkan bentuk geometri pada pembelajaran kognitif anak usia dini di TK Khodijah Mulyojati Metro Barat.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve cognition in logical thinking in children aged 4-5 years by developing a valid and interesting smart tree learning media.  This research was conducted at Kindergarten IT Bina Ilmu Sekampung. The subject of this study is 25 students in group A.  This research is included in the type of research research using the ADDIE model which includes: (1) Analysis, (2) Design, (3) Development, (4) Implementation, (5) Evaluation. The results of validation by validators and product trials show that smart tree media to improve logical thinking skills in children aged 4-5 years is very feasible to use. This was obtained based on the percentages of each, including media experts of 93.75%, material experts of 90.00%, teacher responses of 93.75%, student responses of 90.16%, and all results are included in the Very Feasible category.

Abstract

This article examines Ibn Khaldun's thoughts on children's education patterns in the context of the family as the first and foremost educational institution. Through the literature study method, this study found that Ibn Khaldun had a comprehensive and visionary view of education, which not only emphasized the intellectual aspect, but also included the development of faith and spirituality, morals and social, life skills, and the development of an independent and disciplined attitude. He emphasized the importance of gradual, contextual, and experience-based education, and rejected rigid teaching methods that suppressed children's creativity. His ideas are very relevant in answering the problems of today's children's education, especially related to the dichotomy between religious and general education, as well as the declining role of the family due to the influence of globalization and technological advances. This study recommends the importance of integrating Islamic values into the modern curriculum, strengthening the role of the family in children's education, and developing learning strategies that can foster 21st-century character and skills.

Abstract

This study discusses the concept of administrative leadership in Early Childhood Education (PAUD) with a focus on the role of the principal in managing administration, improving the quality of the institution, and teacher professionalism. The principal as an administrative leader is responsible for fostering all staff and members of the organization, creating a conducive work climate, and managing change effectively. This study also examines various leadership styles applied in PAUD, such as democratic, authoritarian, and transformational styles, as well as solutions that can be applied to overcome challenges in managing institutions. The results of the study indicate that democratic and transformational leadership styles are more effective in encouraging collaboration and innovation, thereby improving the quality of PAUD services. Therefore, strengthening leadership capacity through training and mentoring is an important solution to realizing professional PAUD that is oriented towards child development. These findings are expected to contribute to the development of administrative leadership management in Early Childhood Education institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze student’s interest in choosing the Early Childhood Islamic Education (PIAUD) study program at State Islamic  Religious Higher Education Institutions (PTKIN) in Aceh. Utilizing a qualitative survey method, this research explores the factors influencing students' choicesi regarding the PIAUD program. The findings reveal that student  interest is shaped by a combination of internal and external motivations. A total of 51.9% of students chose the PIAUD program due to personal interest, 26% due to parental influence, and 18% due to favorable career prospects. The primary source of information was the family, followed by social media, indicating the strong  role of the family in students' academic decisions.-making. Social factors such as peers and teachers, also played a role in shaping students’ interest. Although many students ware initially influenced by external factors, the findings suggest that their internal motivation and interest developed over time through the educational process. These results highlight the importance of family support, social environment, and career prospects in influcing students’ interest in the PIAUD program, which can serve as a foundation for developing promotional strategies and enhancing the quality of the study program in the future.

Abstract

Basically, children need meaningful activities, besides that, children like to participate in adult activities to make them feel needed and useful. This is an opportunity to grow a sense of independence in children. One of the tasks of early childhood development is to build independence, which needs to be developed from an early age. Montessori is one of many approaches that can be used to improve children's independence. In this approach, children are trained with Montessori props designed to improve children's senses, cognitive abilities, and independence. The purpose of this research is to find out how the Montessori Method forms an independent character in early childhood at KB Babur Rahman pakuniran. Principals, class teachers, and accompanying teachers are the main data sources. Reference books and journals related to the Montessori Method and child independence are the secondary data sources. Data is collected through observation, interview, and documentation. Research results show that the Montessori method is well used to build an independent character in early childhood at KB Babur Rahman Pakuniran, from planning and implementing learning to evaluation. It is very important for the child's environment to form their independent personality, especially the Montessori environment, which encourages children to be more independent. Children's ability to serve themselves is an example of the result of the Montessori method in building children's independent character.
