Abstract

Abstract This research explores the marketing communication strategy of Mixue in Magelang City, which is increasingly relevant amidst fierce competition in the beverage industry. Mixue, which has grown rapidly in Indonesia since 2018, offers a variety of high-quality beverages. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results show that Mixue's revenue report experiences up-and-down changes that are influenced by internal competition between Mixue outlets and other brands such as Momoyo. Effective marketing communication strategies, including the use of social media, price promotions, and participation in local events, contributed to increased brand awareness and customer loyalty. Product quality and strategic location selection were also key to success. In conclusion, to maintain its position in a competitive market, Mixue needs to increase collaboration between outlets, focus on product innovation, and maintain quality consistency, so as to improve competitiveness and overall performance. This research provides useful insights for stakeholders in formulating more effective and sustainable marketing strategies. Abstract Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi strategi komunikasi pemasaran Mixue di Kota Magelang, yang semakin relevan di tengah persaingan ketat di industri minuman. Mixue, yang telah berkembang pesat di Indonesia sejak 2018, menawarkan beragam minuman berkualitas tinggi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif, dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa laporan pendapatan Mixue mengalami perubahan naik-turun yang dipengaruhi oleh persaingan internal antar gerai Mixue dan merek lain seperti Momoyo. Strategi komunikasi pemasaran yang efektif, termasuk penggunaan media sosial, promosi harga, dan partisipasi dalam event lokal, berkontribusi pada peningkatan kesadaran merek dan loyalitas pelanggan. Kualitas produk dan pemilihan lokasi strategis juga menjadi kunci keberhasilan. Kesimpulannya, untuk mempertahankan posisi di pasar yang kompetitif, Mixue perlu meningkatkan kolaborasi antar gerai, fokus pada inovasi produk, dan menjaga konsistensi kualitas, sehingga dapat meningkatkan daya saing dan kinerja keseluruhan. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan yang bermanfaat bagi pemangku kepentingan dalam merumuskan strategi pemasaran yang lebih efektif dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This study discusses changes in communication patterns in the 'Aisyiyah Sampung organization group as an impact of the use of the polling feature on the WhatsApp application as a digital voting medium. The presence of digital technology allows polling activities to no longer be limited to the political realm, but also play an active role in the decision-making process in various activities. The purpose of this study is to determine the use of the WhatsApp polling feature in the context of group communication of the 'Aisyiyah organization and to analyze the communication patterns formed during the digital voting process. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were obtained through non-participatory observation, digital documentation, and in-depth interviews with selected informants from members of the 'Aisyiyah organization who were directly involved in the digital voting process. Data were analyzed using symbolic interaction analysis techniques to reveal the meaning and communication patterns formed. The results of the study show that the use of the 'Aisyiyah organization's WhatsApp polling feature in digital voting deliberations can create a structured, efficient, practical, and minimally conflicted communication pattern compared to open discussions. The use of this polling feature shows a collaborative communication model where each group member has an active role in voting. This creates a sense of collective involvement and responsibility, resulting in more effective decisions.

Abstract

This study examines the phenomenon of discrimination in boarding house rentals in Yogyakarta against people from Eastern Indonesia. The issue raised is the explicit rejection by boarding house owners of tenants from Eastern Indonesia based on negative stereotypes prevalent in society. The study aims to uncover the forms of discrimination occurring, identify the contributing factors, and describe the impact of such discrimination on the social life of Eastern Indonesian communities in Yogyakarta.This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with an interpretative approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and direct observation of rental practices, focusing on interactions among boarding house owners, neighborhood heads (RT/RW), and prospective tenants from Eastern Indonesia. The collected data were analyzed thematically using the Braun & Clarke model to identify patterns of discrimination and the processes through which stereotypes are constructed in daily life.The findings reveal direct discrimination in the form of verbal rejection and digital advertisements explicitly stating restrictions against Eastern Indonesians. The stereotypes depict Eastern individuals as noisy, and troublesome largely shaped by mass media portrayals. The impacts of this discrimination include social injustice, alienation, cultural exclusion, and threats to the values of inclusivity and diversity in Yogyakarta. This study emphasizes the importance of policy intervention, strengthened public education, and media responsibility in creating fair and balanced representations.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji komunikasi interpersonal antar peternak domba dalam membangun kerja sama untuk menghadapi persaingan usaha di Desa Wedomartani, Sleman, DI Yogyakarta. Menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan strategi kerja sama yang dihasilkan dari komunikasi interpersonal yang efektif dalam meningkatkan daya saing usaha peternakan domba. dengan teknik pengumpulan data wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi data. Fokus penelitian mencakup pola komunikasi interpersonal, dinamika kerja sama, strategi menghadapi persaingan, pengaruh budaya lokal, serta akses terhadap teknologi dan informasi pasar. Studi ini mengeksplorasi tantangan yang dihadapi peternak domba, termasuk persaingan ketat, keterbatasan akses informasi, dan kebutuhan standarisasi produk. Hasil penelitian diharapkan memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan baik secara akademis maupun praktis. Secara akademis, studi ini memperkaya literatur tentang hubungan antara komunikasi interpersonal, strategi kerja sama, dan daya saing usaha dalam konteks peternakan skala kecil. Secara praktis, temuan penelitian dapat menjadi dasar pengembangan kebijakan yang mendukung komunikasi dan kerja sama antar peternak, serta memberikan wawasan tentang strategi peningkatan daya saing.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has given rise to the phenomenon of citizen journalism, which is transforming the traditional media ecosystem. This transformation creates new spaces for public participation in news production and distribution, but it also raises challenges related to the credibility and accuracy of information. Research on how citizen journalism shapes news narratives on local social media—particularly the interaction between platform algorithms, citizen participation, and information verification processes in the context of regional Indonesian media—remains limited. This study aims to explore citizen journalism trends on the Lampung Geh News platform and analyze their influence on the formation of news narratives on social media, as well as to identify the information verification strategies developed within the citizen journalism ecosystem. The research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method conducted from January to April 2024. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with two platform administrators and two citizen contributors of Lampung Geh News selected purposively, non-participant observation of social media content, and analysis of platform policy documents. The findings reveal three main points, increased public participation in digital public spaces through information contributions and comment section discussions, with an average engagement of 75–120 comments per post, social media algorithms significantly determine the visibility and popularity of certain news narratives, with highly engaged content receiving three times more exposure, and collaboration among citizens, media managers, and stakeholders in a four-stage information verification system. Although citizen journalism enriches local news perspectives and builds communication bridges with government stakeholders, issues of accuracy and credibility remain key concerns, necessitating the strengthening of digital literacy and the development of adaptive ethical standards.

Abstract

This study discusses interpersonal communication between players in the GTA V Roleplay game as a medium for forming friendships. In roleplay mode, players not only carry out missions, but also act as characters in a social simulation that resembles real life. With a qualitative approach and case study method, data were collected through observation and in-depth interviews with three active players. Joseph A. DeVito's (2011) interpersonal communication theory was used as an analytical framework, covering five dimensions: openness, empathy, support, positive attitude, and equality. The results of the study show that interactions in GTA V Roleplay form authentic social relations, even continuing outside the virtual world. Communication that occurs in the game creates emotional bonds and friendships that are equal, warm, and mutually supportive. In conclusion, online games are not only a means of entertainment, but also a social space that allows for meaningful interpersonal communication.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji pengaruh branding politik melalui media sosial oleh calon gubernur Jawa Tengah terhadap persepsi pemilih muda, khususnya mahasiswa Sekolah Tinggi Agama Buddha Negeri (STABN) Raden Wijaya, pada Pilkada 2024. Penelitian bertujuan menganalisis efektivitas strategi branding dalam mendorong pembentukan persepsi positif dan meningkatkan partisipasi pemuda. Menggunakan metode survei kuantitatif dengan kuesioner skala Likert 4 poin, data dikumpulkan dari 200 mahasiswa. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa branding politik berpengaruh signifikan terhadap persepsi pemilih muda (koefisien regresi 0,346, R² = 0,395), menjelaskan 39,5% variasi persepsi. Interaksi audiens dan relevansi pesan menjadi indikator utama, meskipun konten sering kali kurang menangani isu pendidikan dan keberlanjutan. Strategi komunikasi yang kreatif, autentik, dan berfokus pada pemuda dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan dan mengurangi apatisme pemilih. Temuan ini terbatas pada konteks mahasiswa STABN Raden Wijaya, sehingga generalisasi memerlukan penelitian lebih lanjut.

Abstract

Differences in generational characteristics in the workplace, particularly between Generation Z and more senior generations, often lead to communication challenges that affect work effectiveness and employee cohesion. This issue is especially relevant in government institutions, which now comprise various age groups with differing values and communication styles. This study aims to analyze the forms of communication adjustment carried out by Generation Z employees in navigating intergenerational interactions within the bureaucratic environment of government organizations.. The research focuses on the communication strategies used when interacting with colleagues and superiors from older generations. A qualitative approach was employed using a transcendental phenomenological method, grounded in the Communication Accommodation Theory (CAT). Data were collected through in-depth interviews with key informants from Generation Z employees. The data analysis followed the stages of transcendental phenomenology using a modified Stevick–Colaizzi–Keen method as proposed by Moustakas. The findings indicate that communication adjustments are made through strategies of convergence, divergence, and maintenance. Convergence is used to build harmonious relationships and show respect toward senior colleagues. Divergence is employed as a form of identity expression and as a response to value differences. Meanwhile, maintenance is applied as a strategy to preserve comfort in communication. These findings reveal that the dynamics of intergenerational communication are influenced by social needs, identity formation, and the demands of professionalism in multigenerational government organizations.

Abstract

Communication is a fundamental aspect of human life, serving to exchange thoughts, opinions, and ideas. Through communication, social interactions are formed, which in turn give rise to social systems or organizations. Within an organization, communication dynamics present a unique challenge, as they involve individuals with diverse backgrounds, ways of thinking, and personalities. One of the most common challenges encountered is miscommunication, which can lead to disharmony in interpersonal relationships. Such disharmony has the potential to hinder team effectiveness and the achievement of organizational goals. This phenomenon is also observed in the context of the Student Activity Unit (UKM) Catholic Student Family (KMK). The patterns of relationships and interactions that develop within this organization ultimately create a condition known as the communication climate. Therefore, this study aims to explore the organizational communication climate within UKM KMK during the 2023/2024 period. The research employs a quasi-qualitative method, with data collection techniques including interviews and document analysis. The findings reveal that the organizational communication climate of UKM KMK during the 2023/2024 period is categorized as positive. This is attributed to the organization's ability to implement six key factors that influence the communication climate. These factors include the development of trust through bonding activities, the opportunity for all members to voice their opinions, openness to providing evaluations for collective improvement, the practice of two-way communication, and a shared commitment to high-performance goals.

Abstract

This research examines the preferences of the people of Karo district towards Radio Gundaling FM broadcasts in the digital era. Radio, which used to be the main source of information and entertainment, is now facing challenges from digital platforms. The results of this study found that Radio Gundaling FM still has loyal listeners, especially among 37-48 year olds who still enjoy local content such as cultural news, folk songs, and distinctive announcer interactions. However, the preferences of the younger generation aged 17-25 have shifted to digital platforms such as TikTok, Spotify, You Tube, Instagram. Radio Gundaling FM attempts to adapt by live streaming on the TikTok app and creating content for social media. This research highlights the importance of preserving local culture in radio broadcasts amidst the changing times in the digital era.
