Abstract

Covid-19 is a disease caused by a corona virus that was first discovered in the province of Wuhan, the People's Republic of China and has become a global pandemic. The virus attacks the respiratory system and causes mild disturbances to death. The severity of the symptoms that appear is related to the state of immunity. The worse the immunity, the more susceptible to contracting Covid-19. In addition, individuals with poor immunity tend to experience severe manifestations of covid. Therefore, it is important to increase immunity during the Covid-19 pandemic. Efforts made to increase immunity include increasing community capacity through community service activities in the form of a webinar entitled "Tips to Increase Immunity During a Pandemic". There is a difference in the average value of the pre-test (83.79) and post-test (96.21) after the activity. As many as 66.7% of participants considered that the activity went very well. Thus, the webinar that was held was useful in increasing community capacity in increasing immunity during the co-19 pandemic. It is hoped that this activity will continue to be carried out at different targets in order to reduce the spread and transmission of Covid-19.

Abstract

Palm sugar is one of the processed food products sourced from the processing of sap water from the male flower bunches of the palm tree. Garut Regency is one of the cities for producing palm sugar and ant sugar in Indonesia which is growing rapidly. To improve the quality of palm sugar and ant sugar in Garut Regency, it is necessary to test the palm sugar and ant sugar products according to the characteristics of the quality requirements of the Indonesian National Standardization Agency (BSN), namely SNI 01-3743-199. So that it can compete with palm sugar and ant sugar products from other regions. The purpose of this community service is to maintain the quality and authenticity of palm sugar, by educating craftsmen about palm sugar with Indonesian national standard quality, so that it can be exported. The results of chemical and physical testing of palm sugar, the original product from arrowroot, can meet the quality standards according to SNI 01-3743-199.

Abstract

Healthy conditions, both physically, mentally, spiritually and socially which enable everyone to live productively socially and economically. The implementation of this activity has a direction to improve the clean and healthy life behavior of Citangtu Village residents. The method used in this community service activity cursed the lecture, counseling and practice techniques given to 40 residents of Citangtu Village, Wanaraja District, Garut Regency. This activity resulted in an increase in residents' knowledge of clean and healthy living habits, 22 Residents had very good knowledge and 18 people had good knowledge. The overview obtained, the enthusiasm of the residents was very high when the counseling was carried out it was hoped that the counseling and practice examples that were socialized could be applied in everyday life and carried out in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Direct risk of exposure to pesticides can occur not only during the spraying process, but can also occur during the mixing process, even after the spraying process. Farmers' knowledge of using personal protective equipment (PPE) when spraying is a risk factor for poisoning. Situation analysis Intensive and unprocedural and ineffective use of pesticides. The use of pesticides that are not as recommended is caused by the knowledge factor of the farmers within themselves, namely perceptions and low knowledge of the use of pesticides according to recommendations that are still wrong or low. This activity is to provide education on the behavior of farmers spraying pesticides in applying the use of pesticides in the field (land). The solution offered by the implementing team is to provide understanding and education on how to use personal protective equipment, how to pay attention to wind direction and how to mix pesticides to farmer groups. The results obtained before the implementation of the provision of material and training were 22 people at the sufficient level and 18 people at the less level. After education, 30 people were in the good category and 10 people were in the enough category. Educational activities that have been carriedout by the implementing team can be a solution and a respondent for farmer groups as an effort to reduce the level of risk of exposure to pesticides

Abstract

Medicinal plants are very beneficial for health, thus reducing the impact of using drugs pharmacologically. Increasing public awareness to reduce and stop using chemical drugs encourages people to use natural ingredients that are around. The purpose of this community service is to provide education to students to utilize their yards in growing medicinal plants at home. The method used is: counseling and empowerment in planting medicinal plants in school yards. From this community service activity, it can be concluded that 95% of students who attended and took part in community service activities could understand the presentation of the substance given by the presenters, namely the D3 Pharmacy Lecturer team. Second, after the presentation of the material, knowledge about "The Benefits of Medicinal Plants in the Family Environment and Land Use in the Elementary School Environment" increased. Third, the enthusiasm of SD Al Khoiriyah IV Garut students when asking questions was very good, showing that this substance was interesting enough to be discussed.

Abstract

The increasing cases of Covid-19 in Indonesia have a sizable health impact on the community. The growth of the Covid-19 virus sticks to hands every day through physical contact with the environment, and among other things it can cause/cause various diseases. For this reason, these microorganisms need to be destroyed or prevented from spreading. One of the easiest and most appropriate ways is to wash your hands with soap and clean running water. Preventive efforts are needed to deal with it, bearing in mind that this outbreak cannot be considered an ordinary pandemic. In order to anticipate wider spread, the Lecturer Team for the D3 Pharmacy Study Program and D3 Health Analyst and in collaboration with LP4M STIKes Karsa Husada Garut made hand sanitizers which will be distributed to residents around Jayaraga, Tarogong Kidul, Garut. Hand sanitizer is a prevention effort by washing hands and soap, if there is no water and soap you can use a hand sanitizer. Some time ago, the supply of hand sanitizers was very limited, so to help the community as well as self-use, they made their own hand sanitizers. Staple food is one of the main and most important things which as a form of concern for STIKes Karsa Husada Garut is always present in the community. Moreover, assistance in the form of groceries is able to ease the burden on the community, especially in the midst of a sluggish economy due to the corona virus.

Abstract

Stunting merupakan salah satu masalah gizi kronis yang disebabkan oleh asupan gizi kurang dalam waktu lama, umumnya karena asupan makan yang tidak sesuai kebutuhan gizi. Stunting adalah gangguan pertumbuan linier tubuh anak menjadi pendek atau sangat pendek yang didasarkan pada tinggi badan menurut umur dengan ambang batas (Z score) kurang dari minus 2 SD. Peran orang tua khususnya ibu sangat penting dalam proses deteksi dini stunting, pengetahuan dan sikap yang baik sangat dibutuhkan karena ibu merupakan orang terdekat di dalam keluarga yang berperan terhadap pemberian asupan makanan pada anak. Tujuan pengabdian ini untuk memberikan edukasi dalam upaya deteksi dini stunting pada anak pra sekolah 4 sampai 6 tahun. Teknik yang digunakan pada pengabdian masyarakat ini dengan mensosialisaikan pengetahuan tentang stunting serta melakukan p engukuran pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak pra sekolah. Hasil yang didapatkan pelaksanaan aktivitas ini pengetahuan pada ibu tentang deteksi dini stunting sekitar 25 orang. Pada saat sebelum 10 orang yang   mengetahui tentang stunting dan setelah mengikuti, sekitar 25 ibu mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan tentang deteksi stunting.

Abstract

Menopause is not a disease or disorder and occurs at the end of the last menstrual cycle but certainty is only obtained if a woman has not experienced her menstrual cycle for at least 12 months. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase mothers' understanding of menopause and problems, so that they can experience menopause. The method used was face-to-face counseling held at RW 06 Sindanggalih Village Karangpawitan Garut by distributing questionnaires before and after counseling to determine the level of knowledge and understanding of the community about menopause. Results: This community service resulted in information that the level of understanding of the community before and after counseling increased significantly from 52% to 84%. Conclusion: The counseling activities carried out are expected to make mothers understand more about menopause and overcome any problems during menopause. The material provided is knowledge about menopause and is delivered in a straightforward and clear manner. the community becomes enthusiastic in participating in counseling activities, given the great benefits that can be taken from community service activities.Keywords: Community services, Knowledge, MenopauseABST

Abstract

Introduction: Old age (elderly) is a period that people will experience eventually. Many people can enjoy old age, but a few also experience illness and die without being able to enjoy old age happily. Objective: to provide information about healthy behavior in living life in old age so that it is always healthy and quality. Methods: This community service uses extension techniques with several stages of activities, namely the planning stage of activities to be carried out by identifying needs, identifying existing potentials and weaknesses, determining solutions and activities to be carried out, and organizing activities and the implementation stage of service activities in the form of solutions that have been approved by the local RW head. Results: This service activity results in improving the quality of elderly health by maintaining diet, sleep patterns and exercising so that the health of the elderly is maintained. Conclusion: The implementation of this community service activity received a good response from the community, especially the Perum Oma Indah community in Godog Village, Karangpawitan Garut. From these community service activities, the knowledge of the elderly has increased and the quality of life of the elderly with clean and healthy patterns or behavior both in the environment or healthy behavior for each individual is provided with a pocket book that can be a guide for the elderly as information or knowledge in everyday life.

Abstract

Pain is one of the problems encountered in patients with surgical cases. If not handled properly, pain will cause discomfort, sleep disturbances, and a decrease in quality of life. Families are expected to be able to teach deep breathing relaxation techniques to patients in managing pain at home with mild to moderate intensity. To achieve this capacity, community service activities are held which aim to improve the family's ability to perform deep breathing relaxation techniques. The activity took the form of a short training in the orchid room at Sumedang Hospital, which was attended by 16 people. The pre and post test results showed an increase in family capacity in performing deep breathing relaxation techniques (p=0.01). Thus, the activities carried out are useful for increasing family capacity in managing pain. It is hoped that this activity will continue to be carried out in other similar cases with the aim of relieving pain and improving quality of life.
